  1. I'm really enjoying these pics Jerry. Thank for you always sharing your work. Thought I'd drop into CC. The marine biologist girls are heading back now for a couple holiday cruises. I just heard from them and they are excited to get back to working in paradise.

  2. I have GE and was through customs in about 7 minutes last week. Luggage, however, took forever. I would have been off plane and waiting for my hotel shuttle in less than 20 minutes if not for the luggage delay. Seriously, I think our bags were last to load onto conveyer.

Keep checking for GE appointment availability. You'll be so happy once you have it.

  3. It's wonderful! I book it every trip through PG. Enjoy!

Downside. Each trip, I've seen people stand on the coral or freak out because the water is too skinny and they don't think they'll pass over corals. The excursion states that this is for experienced snorkelers, and they're right. Sometimes the freak-outers hold up the line behind them.

  4. I would have enjoyed the chicken parm! I saw it on menu night one, but never after that. I could have ordered it one night as special request but I don't require substitutions. I don't eat fish, but the menu items are so plentiful there's always something to suit everyone's palette.

I had a food crisis more than once. I love getting a club sandwich in afternoon. Using toasted white bread is traditional, but mine continually came untoasted, and, with the ends cut off. Nice presentation, but lousy to eat. You've got to have the toasted edges otherwise everything falls out. Sandwich logistics! Also, on two mornings my blueberry pancakes were delivered via room service cold. My sister traveling with me had a delivery of cold eggs and bacon another morning. This is highly unusual for PG. On a good note, the fries are still good. The havent ruined them with some weird salt combination like everyone else is doing these days.

I agree fresh fruit juice is best, if available. The boxed and canned are too sweet. The addition of the morning Super Juice is fantastic! LOVED it!

I have to agree about the forgettable cruise director.

I'll add some drama here. I didn't enjoy Santa Rosa. Apologies. Sock hoppin all the time!

    Naturalists on board were excellent.

The crew is magnificent. They make the PG so special. They're part of why we return to this magical part of the world!

  5. I was there Saturday night. One side is now nicely cooled with the newly rolled in air conditioners. There are some comfy seating areas on both sides of the space, a couple computers on long tables, and an eat/drink area which is just OK. Everything is self service. There were some sweets, peanuts, small sandwiches, beer, wine, champs, juice, sodas and a water dispenser.

  6. I thoroughly enjoyed your review! Unabashedly, I attended most of these outings with OP and had a great time! I had a couple disappointments, which I mentioned in my survey, but nothing that would prevent me from coming back. I completely disconnected from technology, ate well, and slept great! Sailing aboard ammy favorite small ship with old and new friends was awesome. My advice, don't get hung up or hurried on this cruise. Sign up for what you want, attend what you want to attend and let the rest just happen.

  7. So they changed out most of the L'Occitaine while in drydock? Good to know! My sister and I love the line, but not the same fragrance. When we travel together, our cabin looks like a small L'Occitaine pop up store. I agree, for girl props, you;ve got to bring your own.

  8. Deck - Penthouse

    Cabin # 1670

    Class – CC

Starboard or Port Side - AFT Starboard

    Bed near?(balcony or bath) –Balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) Bad smell in the entire aft hallway. Non connecting aft cabin. Fairly quiet, light ceiling rattle at bedtime, otherwise delightful. We sailed Dec-Jan 2009.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The balcony was acceptable. Looked down on other balconies below us. Kind of creepy. Didn't enjoy. Felt like I was peeping.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal, but larger than the balconies on either side of us

    Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Yes. There was a lot of soot on this balcony as well as some fly away garbage from Sunset Bar.

Any specific problems with this cabin? The smell outside the door was horrid.

    Any other comments?
