I fear you may be in for an uphill battle. I have sent two emails in the past almost 3 months with no reply other than the initial “we’ve received your email”. Customer Service at Princess has hit an all time low.
As for sending laundry in on Princess, you’ve now learned a very painful lesson. Those of us who have been using their laundry for years either don’t send anything of value or have cut back on what we send in. When I first mentioned issues we were having years ago, I was met with a barrage or “we’ve never had any trouble” responses, but those lucky people are dwindling in numbers.
I’m happy to send an email, but given that you did not get a reply at all I think I’d like an actual person to speak to today.
I’m not sure how I could have anticipated the laundry to be so rough on such a run-of-the-mill item that people would be careful with. But, love and learn I guess.

Been on hold over 2 hours. Got through to sales earlier to be transferred to customer service but they couldn’t transfer and told me to call back and try again in 10 minutes. A lot frustrating, but….

Hi all and thanks in advance for any feedback.
We just returned from Caribbean Princess and had an incident with laundry services on board. We sent a two-piece suit to be cleaned and pressed and the pants came back absolutely destroyed - shrunk multiple sizes, fabric wrecked, holes in the lining. They were unrecognizable to the point that we sent them back thinking they had clearly switched them for some other pants.
They made an attempt to repair to no avail. We filed the claim on board, the guest services people kept both pieces of the suit, and they gave us a signed claim form back and told us to contact shoreside customer service for help, due to the cost of the suit.
I’ve been on hold for over 2 hours waiting for an agent to even transfer me to guest services. And I’m starting to fret. I do have a receipt for the suit when it was purchased in May, but the ship has the suit itself.
I’m wondering if anyone has ever gone through the process of filing a claim for a very expensive piece of clothing and how that ended up.thanks!

Just a comment on your annoyance with people who take the elevator for just one floor.
I see by your photo that you are young. My husband is elderly and unsteady on his feet. Using the stairs on a moving ship is dangerous for him. We take the elevator even if we are just going one floor.
There are others who may be younger but who suffer from COPD and cannot do stairs. I have a cruising friend whose husband suffers chronic pain from an old injury and stair climbing is not an option for him.
I could go on and list many ailments that prevent a person from doing stairs. As you age you may have to join the “one floor elevator “ club and no longer include them in your list of annoyances.
I must admit that if I had been cruising when I was young I probably would have been annoyed as well. Age is a great teacher.
Also, my photo is from 12 years ago! In my old age, I can’t figure out how to change it.

Actually, I don’t find any of those things annoying at all! I was listing gripes I had seen on this board before. Whoever wants to take an elevator for however many floors they want is fine by me. That’s an example I used specifically because people need to use the elevator for one floor and those that are annoyed by it often don’t need the elevator at all, just prefer it!

^^ This is the operative question.
I understand how to follow rules and regulations. There are likely actual established regulations, but anyone one this thread saying they are not permitted to take certain things off the ships is merely speculating as the OP never ever mentioned their itinerary.

It’s nobody here making these rules. These are well-established government regulations to prevent the spread of disease to both humans and livestock/produce. Try bringing apples into California from Nevada without proper documentation and inspection and just see how it goes.

There is not any reason that if I board a ship in Seattle I can not bring along an apple when we dock in Juneau. The ability of some here to create rules that don’t exist is impressive! Of course, follow the guidelines of the ship, ask if you are unsure, and make yourself a sandwich if you’re allowed and you so desire.

You don't get to use BlueTooth speakers at the pools or out on decks on HAL ships either. You might need an attitude adjustment before you board.
Is that your rule or Holland’s? I did not see it in my KBYG or cruise contract? I often find music less annoying that gossiping or snoring or my neighbor, but that’s my preference not the cruise line policy.

Birthdaygirl30..... You are right on describing "bothersome". One person sitting at a Lido table, or near the Lido center pool, occupying a whole table, loading up the remaining chairs with their personal stuff so no one else can snag a chair, reading a book, with their feet up on another chair, right at noon lunch time. All the while, other people with plates, loaded with food and drinks, from the Lido or Dive-In, trying to find a place to sit and eat their lunch. And the person reading, gives these people with loaded plates a dismissing look, basically saying "I'm here, you're not, and I'm not moving, and I don't care if it's lunchtime".
There are any number of things that other people do on the ship that I find annoying. No worse than on my drive to work, in a crowded mall, etc. This attitude that someone is more entitled to their vacation than another, this expectation of people to follow rules made up in your (the general your, not you in particular) head, it makes people miserable for no reason.
Bottom line: does the cruise line have a rule or policy against something? If not, feel free to have at it. Expect that someone might ask you politely to quit it - decide how you will respond.
I’m never afraid to ask a fellow passenger about sitting in a chair for a minute while I grab a bite and promising to move when the rest of their party arrives. Shockingly, they are almost always happy to make a little room!

No, you are not entering a free for all space. Check your privilege. But then I see you have very little experience on HAL ships. They are not free for all environments. I hope you enjoy them anyway.
The itinerary was right for us, for this trip and we are bringing along an older family member who will enjoy the slower pace and excursions that are geared toward the mobility impaired. In general, I think I will prefer Celebrity to this line, but who knows.
I’m a quiet, polite cruiser. But, I do not allow myself to get my panties in a wad about what others are doing. It’s up to the cruise line to enforce their rules. I have no expectations of others behavior beyond that. I do not expect others to govern their behavior by what I find annoying.

Actually, you are. You’re signing up to sail on a ship with other passengers and public spaces, where the cruise line makes the rules. Unless the cruise ship makes a policy, you have no right to expect fellow passengers to behave in a certain way in those spaces. Check YOUR privilege. It’s not any different than people who bring Bluetooth speakers to the beach or pool. Do I find it annoying - maybe if they are listening to music I don’t like - but that doesn’t mean they aren’t within their rights to do it. I have two choices: 1. Ask them to turn it down 2. Move

People are ridiculous. He’s not more bothersome than people taking up Lido space to play cards, chair hogs, smokers, people taking 70 zillion pictures, kids on phones, elevator people who are only going one floor, whatever. No one has paid for a private ship. Cruising means you get to deal with other humans who might make noise, be smelly, take up a space you’d like, or just generally interact with you in a way you might find imperfect. If he likes to play, he should bring his guitar and play. If someone takes issue, they can move OR ask him to. No big deal. Cruising with 1000 other people means understanding that 500 of them might be doing something annoying.

Testing out the new camera. This is my favorite wall mural in Wynwood in Miami. And a new one that someone recently added.

You have the Canon lens, why not stick with their latest model, plus you have some familiarity with the camera body.
The answer turned out to be - the lenses I had were basic kit lessons and not worth staying with the brand for.

Went out to play with the camera after watching a few tutorials. This was an easy shot because it was sunny, the subject was completely still, and I could be as close or as far as needed, but so impressed with the camera.

OK, one lesson learned from experience (and not a good one). See that red button that seems to just be sitting on the handgrip? That’s your record button in video mode. Not the shutter release like every other video capable camera I’ve owned...

I sold the 18-105 and my kit lenses to get the 18-135 and I would do it again. The 18-135 is smaller, lighter and a better lens overall.

Well, that went poorly. After hours and hours on hold, finally was told who to send the claim to.
Got the response today. Their liability is limited to 10X the laundering fee. As it was $10 to clean the suit, they are happy to write me a check for $100 that I should get in 4-8 weeks.
Very expensive lesson learned for me and my son. The suit had been worn once before. It was his graduation gift.
I am aggravated and frustrated. Our overall experience was maybe a 7/10, but I was giving Princess some grace for COVID. I’m certain all cruise lines are the same, but this may be the fast end of my Princess Cruising.
