Our flight is at 11am would we make it with checked luggage? Cruise is September.
-
No. They said it varies from ship to ship.

Just curious - did they indicate the cost for the onboard testing?

Thanks everyone. Special Needs did get back to me and tests can be done on the ship and we are also on the hunt for a machine to self-test.

Yes, we will try the machine but my husband has just been prescribed warfarin and the DR may not be keen on him using a self-diagnosis machine until his results are more stable. I have emailed special needs and hope they respond quickly.
Thanks for the responses.

A call would not likely be helpful.
In 2019 you could get an INR test on board. Cost was $120 and insurance did not cover. No idea today.
Thank you. We leave on April 6th so that will be a problem. Were you on the Eclipse when tested?
-
Thank you but it's absolutely impossible to get through to Celebrity on the phone and emails aren't being answered.
-
Hi does anyone know if the Eclipse medical unit can conduct a INR blood test for warfarin users? Has anyone had direct experience of this?
-
I will try some of the options offered. Thanks so much for the replies.

I realise there is a significant difference in price booking through an Australian agency and a UK one. If I try to do this online there is no option for adding a UK contact number so perhaps it isn't possible?
-
Can anyone update me on accessing pre-boarding covid testing for UK passengers? We are embarking on the 17th April and flying to the US on the 15th so would need a test on the evening of the 15th or the 16th.

I am from the Uk and have just booked with the above. I can’t see any mention of gratuities. Can anyone enlighten me if they are included or will they be added to the final bill?

You can read the information on Cuba in the “already booked” section. The tour needs to be approved by the US and had to meet people to people requirements. You sign an affidavit before you board the ship stating that you are aware of the requirements and you check a box for what kind of tour you will be taking

Thanks. I haven’t booked yet so don’t have access to that type of information. I rarely do ship excursions and therefore would prefer an independent one on this cruise too, if possible.

Can anyone who has been to Cuba on HAL tell me if we can get off the ship to do a private tour? In other words is it necessary to do a HAL excursion to get off the ship?

I organized a tour for a group of 12 with Zoom. Our tour was today and it was wonderful. Zoom was waiting for us when we got to the port gate and we were quickly on our way. The driver Zoom uses was excellent, how anyone can drive in Saigon is beyond me.
There was a period of time awhile ago when Zoom tried to expand and used some other guides. He no longer does that and assured us that he only books tours he conducts.
4 of our group were in Saigon 2weeks ago and did a tour with another provider; they paid more, were promised one lunch place but were taken to another and charged more and didn’t see much of what we did.
We highly recommend Zoom if you want a knowledgeable guide who works very hard to make sure everyone is happy.
You were lucky. I booked him and got a completely inadequate girl. He refused to take responsibility and did not refund our money. A day wasted. I am glad it worked out for you.

We just came off Princess Sapphire cruise to SE Asia. Wanted to give Zoom a great review. Unfortunately, our Nha Trang port was cancelled due to high seas; but without asking Zoom refunded our deposit. Thought this was very worthy of mentioning in case anyone was concerned.
I have done a tour with ‘Zoom’. It seems you do not necessarily get him. We got a girl and the tour was woeful. The worst I have ever had. He refused a refund but did give us back the cost of the meal we had which wasn’t edible.

Thank you soooo much for the update Jen. I've had 2 sleepless nights regarding my eVisa to India and even worse is the look of disappointment on my daughter's faces when I told them that we might not be able to board the ship on January 2. I'm from Australia and when I first contacted celebrity Regarding Indian visa, I was told (as per their terms and conditions) "check the applicable passport and visa requirements (including multi-entry visa requirements and for additional visa photos) with the embassies of the countries you will be visiting during your cruise, or check the up-to-date position with your travel agent in good time before departure"..
So, under the advice of the Indian Government, eVisa is accepted in Goa seaport, (with an Autralian passport). And since I have an e-visa, under the general terms and conditions of Celebrity, i would expect to be able to board the cruise.
But then I got an email yesterday, saying that I may be denied boarding without traditional visa for which I have absolutely no time to get as I leave Australia soon for a short pre-cruise holidays. And I couldn't take the risk of NOT having our passports back before our flight in 2 days. We were just going to turn up at Abu Dhabi and take our chances... And hopefully it doesn't end up in years esp for my 2 daughters!!!!
Can I just ask you to confirm how many ports you visited? I have three and celebrity have said an evisa is fine but I am just a little concerned as apparently two is the max on an evisa.
Thanks.

Hi All, i’ve put this on the 7th April Constellation roll call too. There’s some talk on the roll call of now only needing an E-Visa for all 3 ports of Cochin, Goa and Mumbai. New rulings i believe. Does anyone know for sure with a UK passport if this is true as up till now we needed a full multi entry tourist visa to go to 3 ports including Mumbai? Many thanks

I received an email from Celebrity confirming this at the weekend.

Chinese visa
in Asia
We are going to Shanghai for the day in March on the Arcadia. I am from Australia. I have been told that you no longer need a visa to visit Shanghai on a cruise ship I have also been told that you have to do a ship’s excursion if you want to get off the ship. Is this correct? What happens if you do a half day excursion which say ends at 1pm and you are in port till midnight.... do you have to go back to the ship after the excursion and be confined or can you do your own thing off the ship? Ideally I would like to not get a visa and be able to organise my own private tour guide. Any info or advice greatly appreciated.Thank you.

My experience last Easter was that when you did an excursion the visa was covered. We were allowed to then spend the rest of the day in Shanghai and made our own way back to the ship. The tour guide gave us the information in Chinese to get back to the ship. We were on the Celebrity Millennium.
