We have done numerous guarantee cabins and never disappointed, including numerous upgrades. Always came out with a better cabin or category then paid for.

We added it after we booked. What is the Cheers package?
I apologize, the Cheers package is actually Carnival and apparently, I had Carnival on my mind when I answered and thought I had deleted my response.

According to some navy folks I know, the only time the air force gets that close to the ground is when crashing....I mean landing. And I hear that due to safety concerns all their afterburners have been disabled. Ergo it much have been the Navy.....🤪.
This statement is completely false, I speak from firsthand experience and knowledge. Afterburners are not just "disabled". As far as the Air Force not close to the ground, the A-10 flies close air support missions lower than any of the Navy aircraft, other than that Air Force and Navy missions are fairly similar.

It is available to veterans as well as active duty, however it is only on specific cruises.

Just got off the Ruby and these were 2 rows blocked off on the rear of the bottom section. Personally I would not choose the particular location on my own. We didn't believe they were a good location at all, but everyone has their own preferences. Covers were taken off about 5 minutes prior to show time.

I have a quick easy question. If you have the Cheers package and are sailing from Galveston, when are you able to start using it?
Is it the same for non-alcohol drinks?
Thanks in advance for any information.

To avoid this on the cruise we just off of we used the slot machine in the casino. Even though the nonrefundable onboard credit may say you cant us it there, guest services said to use the slot machine and then it will. All you have to do is go the slot machine hit charge money to your account, then hit cash out and it will say it is in the bank. Then just go the cashier cage and they cash out your account in cash. Very easy, don't even need to paly anything if you don't want to. We cashed out refundable and nonrefundable this way.
Good way to be locked out of your casino account.
Sorry but I have to disagrees with you. It was told to us by Guest Services that using nonrefundable and refundable OBC in the slots was okay. Additionally, the Casino staff confirmed, so no it is not an issue.

I just wanted to see if anyone on the Ruby Princess out of Galveston lately knows if it is a problem carrying on bottles of water? I know the Princess site states cans but didn't know if they enforced that out Galveston. Thanks in advance for any information.

I do not. But I do have a discount code for Port of Galveston parking lots.
SPRINGSAVINGS23. Good for $10 off your reservation. Must be booked by March 31 for future parking.I used this code for the Galveston Express lot, and it actually came out cheaper than using EZ Cruise with their usual 10%

Are you cruising out on the 25th? 😊✝️
NoelleC, actually cruising on the 2nd.

I usually use EZ Cruise and if you sign up on there website there are 10% discounts available for groups such as military and seniors, however for our upcoming cruise I didn't use them because their prices have gone way up. If you go to the official Port of Galveston parking website and use promo code LOVE2CRUISE23 it is cheaper than EZ Cruise. I was able to book their closeup Express lot cheaper than EZ Cruise with a 10% discount.

I would like to see these also as we leave in few weeks on this ship.

I disembarked the Ruby today in Galveston.
Water and soda: yes. The guy ahead of me ran two 12-packs of soda through the the security scanner and carried one in each hand as his carry-ons.
Embarkation lunch: Yes, I think it was the DiVinci restaurant but not 100% sure about this. They were open until 1:30 and I think continued seating people a bit later.
Disembarkation was on both 6 and 7, I think we came in on 7 too.
Shows/activities: These are relative. I'm a big fan of the "game shows" that they held in the Explorers Lounge at 8:30 each night. I wasn't enamored with the production shows, but your tastes may vary. One night there was a guest singer, Dana Monique, who was excellent!
Thank you for the information.

We depart on the Ruby Princess in just over a month and have a few questions for any have departed out of Galveston lately.
Are they allowing you bring on bottles/cans of soda and water?
Is the MDR room open for embarkation day lunch, and if so which one and hours?
What floor has embarkation and debarkation been on?
Any must see shows or activities?
Thank you in advance for any information.

Usually park at EZ Cruise because it is an easy walk to the terminal, however they just had a huge price increase. So was wanting to know if anyone had any recommendations for a different lot that was within easy walking distance to the terminal or knew of any current promo codes for any lots. Also are any of the official Port of Galveston lots within walking distance to the terminal for check in?
Thanks in advance for any information.

To get mine I just on their website and there was spot to click and filled in some simple information and then received an email quickly afterwards that it was verified. I did not have to send in verification, although it may have still been on file from a few years ago.

Hello ceilidh1, thanks for this review, giving me a lot of good information as I boarding the ship in a few months. I do have a simple question; what deck did you embark/disembark on?
-
Hello Ceilidh1. It looks like you had a picture of the lunch menu, can you confirm that they had the main dining room open for lunch upon boarding. Thanks in advance.

You can select a terminal arrival time prior to boarding under the Documents section of the app. It’s available somewhere between 10 and 60 days prior to departure. If your documents are in order and you have your medallion, it’s a quick passport check at the pier and you’re done. Very slick.
The muster process improvements have been the best thing to come out of The Unpleasantness. If both medallions are in the cabin, watching the safety video on the TV marks that step complete. Otherwise, watch on the app. Then, before sailaway, visit your muster station and tap your medallion to record your attendance. It is *so well done*.
Thanks for the information, how do you get your Medallion?

We have parked at the South Lot a couple times and it is a very short walk to the terminal. Cant say that 12 was available last fall when we went. The distance for both is close and would choose either of them.
