I am really sorry that I am missing this cruise but will enjoy reading what you post.  The first week of August I had two strokes and spent 3 months in 3 hospitals and two rehabs learning to walk and talk again.  I am doing fair and hope to be able to cruise again some day.  It was disappointing to have to cancel this one.  I booked it a year ago.  Enjoy !!!!!!!!

City tour - WHERE?

Add me to the list of people who would never go on MSC again.  There were so many things that went wrong on my cruise on Seaside.  The personnel were just plain rude and not even interested in correcting a problem.  The only good thing I can say is the pizza was delicious.

Another vote for Doubletree.  Had a great view from my balcony, room was very spacious, clean, nice little mall between the Doubletree and Marriott with dining options, short cab ride to the port etc.  Unfortunately it is sold out for my next cruise so I am staying in Ft. Lauderdale and taking a shuttle to the Port of Miami for $15.

They did not offer Luggage Valet in Miami when I cruised on the Symphony in January.  I don't think it is available on the Oasis class yet.  There was rumor about it possibly being offered by this fall.

I paid $51 for it and it is supposed to be a 10 minute ride.  I will find out in November.

When I cruised out of Miami in January on Symphony of the Seas RC did not offer luggage valet.  Do they currently offer it now?  I have two cruises leaving from Miami later this year and it would be wonderful if this service was provided now.

They had complimentary frozen pina colada's when I did the train tour.  I can't remember what else except soda.

I paid $51 for it on the President's/Birthday cruise in Nov.  It is now $47.99 but I am not going to worry about $3.  If it goes any lower I will cancel and re book.

They usually have a good sale on Black Friday.

I was on Symphony in January and they did not offer Luggage Valet service in Miami at the new terminal.  I was disappointed because I always use it in Port Everglades and Port Canaveral.  I cruise from there again in November and December and hope maybe by then they will offer it.

I matched Diamond and got Black Card back in January 2018.

I am your mother's age.  I fell last year and fractured my arm near the shoulder.  My doctor also said I would never regain full motion in that arm.  He was right.  After several weeks of PT I can use my arm for almost anything except lifting it straight up to shave under my arm.  I just completed a move from one state to another.  I packed and lifted the boxes with no help from anyone.  Does my arm still hurt, yes but taking Alleve helps with the pain.  I don't think you mother will be completely handicapped because of the injury.  I hope she feels better soon.

I was on the Symphony in January.  We did not make dinner reservation for the Solarium Bistro.  We like to eat early and just showed up every night between 5:30 and 6:00.  We were seated every time.

I pack shirts, underwear, pajamas, odds and ends in 2 gallon zip lock bags.  Dress slacks are in a dry cleaners bag. I put cut up dry cleaner bags in between the layers of shorts.

Does RC offer the luggage valet program in Miami?

I took a taxi to the port.

I just used their shuttle the 27th of September.  I called the hotel after I retrieved my luggage.  I was told to turn right as I left the terminal(3) and go to the end.  The driver was waiting when I got there.  It cost $2 per room and that is charged to your final bill.  I didn't realize it would be billed so I gave the driver $4 cash which became his tip. Very fast service and very nice driver.
