  1. Hello, we have a cruise in 2025 that is $33,000 but our only deposit, so far, is $3,500, 100% refundable until June 2025. Over the course of the next year, airfare and en route stays will add to the total. Qualifying for the medical pre-existing look-back waiver is very important.

Since I have no at-risk deposit, do I still purchase insurance now to qualify for the waiver? If now, for what amount? Should I plan on incrementally increasing the insured amount as costs are incurred?

    Thanks for any advice!

I am 44 days out on the Getaway TA.  I placed a bid for upgrade last night and now wish to cancel the bid, can anyone tell me where I can  find that option....is it on my account?  I tried with my NCL agent and he said he does not have access to the advantage program.  Thanks for any help I can get.

We're on that sailing.  If you're using the NCL app, the upgrade bids show there with a "cancel bid" option.

  3. We are in a balcony suite (lowest "suite" category) on the repositioning Getaway leaving June 3. My agent reports that just a single Haven (category HF) suite is unsold. This being the case, it would seem my chances of getting any kind of Haven bid accepted is near zero - dependent upon cancellations. Is this a correct analysis?

  4. I'm likewise confused. If a cruise company changes the itinerary (e.g. cancels ports of call), then that is not unusual and I believe we passengers are without recourse.  However, canceling the entire cruise, for whatever reason, should entitle us to a 100% cash refund.

Can anyone explain if that is wrong? And why?

  5. I wonder if upgraded to the Wi-Fi are planned. As an upscale cruise company, I expect Wi-Fi to be included. The only rationale I can come up with is that the facilities must be antiquated and unable to handle the traffic; hence price as a throttle to usage.

  6. We're on a cruise in late October on Celebrity (the Silhouette, if it matters) in the eastern Mediterranean with some friends. I'm a Yankee fan, so the chance of needing WS games for me is small. But, they are Cubs fans; after waiting 100+ years, it's a big deal to see the NLCS and World Series.

Does anyone know if Celebrity will have the cable and broadcast games available, either in-room or in any common areas?

  7. We're on the Millennium in 2072 and from the deck plan it looks very likely that freight elevators are immediately adjacent. Can anyone confirm that?

It's a Category 11 booking. If I decide to change, I'd appreciate any tips on the best approach: through our TA? Directly with celebrity? Now or closer to sailing in July?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

  8. Tue morning: Var left Deggendorf, which is supposed to be the lowest level on this part of the Danube, Monday night and is past Linz, headed to Melk. Apparently unrelated to water levels, we're behind schedule and will not get to Melk until afternoon (instead of morning).

  9. Mid-day Monday the Var is headed downstream. Most of the passengers were in Passau, bussed while the boat held in Regensberg. Upon clearance, the Var left Regensberg, sailing east, while the passengers bussed west to meet for re-embarkation at Deggendorf. Theoretically, we'll sail overnight to arrive at Melk just a little behind schedule Tuesday morning.
