  1. We have sailed out of Houston 2 times. We were late arriving both times and late both times departing. 17 hours late on one causing us to miss a port of call.

The channel is narrow and busy, which causes most of the problems.

We have told our travel agent to NEVER schedules out of there again.

  2. I cannot believe Princess’s policy on their Princess Air. This is our first and last time trying to use Princess Air. We were going to book with them to London next October. That is 10 months away. They will not let us buy our airfare unless we pay for the whole cruise now. I don’t think I am going to let them use my money all that time just so I can purchase an airline ticket from them.

My TA found a cheaper fare on another airline and I don’t have to give Princess a whole lot of money. My TA was on the phone with Princess all afternoon trying to get the airline ticket worked out. She kept getting a different answer every time she was switched to someone else up the line. Finally the paper work Princess sent her stated that the cruise must be paid in full for them to purchase a ticket.

This is not our first cruise on Princess. With this cruise we will become Elite.

    Very poor policy.

  3. Be careful if you are going to pre-order. I called HAL about Irish Mist and they said they did not carry it, but could get it for me. I said, great.

They had it in the cabin when we boarded. The bill came at the end of the cruise and they charged me what it would cost at the bar for each drink. The cost for a $30 Bottle of Irish Mist was $107.00. I might as well complained to a tree for all the good it did.

Im def not going to be buying a jug at a time, we take pre bottled sangria usually, its not messy, it lasts longer, etc. but i am hoping they will either special order me some bottles, or make it and sell it to me by the glass.

Quint sangria is whats being sold at a lot of places here in the wine country, it does not have the musty, fermented taste that cheap bottled sangria has.

Www.quintllc.com but it is $8 a glass and $32 for a jug, band WELL worth every penny.

My DH, only wine he drinks is Sangria, ( because he just discovered it) he also drinks sparkling wine ( flavored like almond, or sparkling shiraz)...

Hopefully they can just special order what we need, ( ports, sparkling wine etc)

Then the only issue with HAL will be how they didn't tell clients, who gave them money, planned vacations, in good faith under the old policy... They did not tell travel agent partners either...

  4. I was in D734 on the Grand in March. Same configuration as in the photo. The big blank place is the ventilation for the ship and its somewhat noisy when at sea. The noise from the wake does muffle it, but it is not at all a quiet refuge. With the door open, you cannot listen to the tv because its too noisy. The beams are not much of an issue because the balconies are very large. They could easily sit 6 to 8 people. The only balconies that you can hear this ventilation are the ones directly next to vents. (Four balconies affected) During our cruise there was also 6 days of maintenance going on in this area for which we complained and received a generous credit.

What 4 balconies suites are affected?

  5. Towncar T,

Thank you for the post. I had read one of yours on another site, and had already decided to do a walking tour of your fine city. This new post on our Aug. 24, 2009 cruise has given me some more good information, and we are looking foreword to a great time.
