Most airlines no longer charge change fees.

No kidding which is why I quoted YOUR post in my original lol. But as you even stated....the flights will now be more expensive. Good to see Celebrity is taking care of the 1000s inconvienced in order to save 1 life.

Just curious, what kind of activities?  Only real downer for many is that while you won't get charged an airline change fee, odds are booking a flight last minute will be more expensive than the original flight.

Agree. Any word if Celebrity will reimburse for the extra fees?

  3. I've noticed the same thing but with a cruise in April on Edge. I've been watching the prices daily for about a month now and currently the rates are approximately the same they've been the whole time, +/- $100/person. The sailing has had great resident rates but those don't come with any perks and once I add up the drink/wifi/gratuities on top of the resident rates, I'm saving very little to nothing. There are plenty of IV cabins available so still hoping to see some sort of drop.

For comparison, I've also been tracking Symphony of the Seas and NCL Encore for the same time periods and have seen significant drops in those prices for a balcony cabin, sometimes >$500 per person.

  4. Oh wow, that's frustrating with all the merging they were allowing!

This will be our 25th cruise, so we're well aware of every debarkation potentially being different depending upon the circumstances. I'm trying to figure out what might be the "norm" for this ship & itinerary lately.

Just gotta hope for the best but always be prepared for absolutely nothing going your way that morning. :classic_biggrin:

I thought dinner times were different last few times I sailed, like 6pm and 8:30. Are the 5:15 and 8pm times just on these larger ships?

The OP already has MTD, but can't get the time she wants.  There is no way to wait-list a specific time with MTD.  She was given correct info to either go to see the Maitre D' when she boards or just show up when she wants.  There may be a wait, but there may not be.

That's fine if that's the case, just disregard my post then! 😃 The OP post is confusing though because they asking about my time dining but then mention the fixed dining times (on Allure at least), which are 5:15 and 8pm. My time dining doesn't even open until 6pm. It's a little confusing but hopefully something that has been provided will answer the question they have.

  6. Yes, you should be able to join the waitlist for My Time. I had to pick 5:15 for my upcoming cruise on Allure in April because it was all that was available at time of booking. I agree it's way too early, so I was disappointed!! I asked my TA if I could switch to My Time and they said they had called Royal and put me on the waitlist. Probably 10-12 days later I noticed in my cruise planner I was in My Time. Now I'm able to pick different times for each night of the cruise in the planner. Yay! 😁

Talk to your TA or Royal if you booked directly with them.

  7. Maybe anthem has more due to being in the northeast? Haven't seen much in freedom or oasis class ships which is what we almost always cruise on. I did have some special brews of Sam Adams one cruise (and not just the typical summer ale or Oktoberfest) but Sam Adams isnt really a craft brewer anymore although they make some great beers. Being diamond I go with Amstel light during diamond hours which is a nice crispy beer that is very light on calories. That is something I need with all that food. Lol. I'll report back on the beer choices in November if I don't see a better response by then.

Sounds good, thanks so much!! :)

  8. In my experience there aren't many craft beers available on any royal ship. Havent been on anthem however. Given harmony is in Europe I doubt there are many if any American craft beers (right now). I'm on the TA back to the US and can repot after if it helps.

I for one wish royal would get negro modelo on the ships. By far the best Mexican beer IMO.

Thanks! Yeah, if it's no trouble, check while you are on your vacation. I'm guessing you're right, what they have in Europe, may not be reflective of what they'll offer while in the US. We aren't sailing until December.

Michael's Pub on Anthem was awesome for some different beer selections rather than the standard. They had Heavy Seas Loose Cannon on tap when we sailed earlier this month, which my husband lived on lol! Before that, we were really spoiled on NCL's Escape with the District.

Best bet would be the Boot & Bonnet Pub.

I'll try to find a menu for Boot & Bonnet, maybe they've got something good there.

Hopefully soon craft beers become much more prevalent on all ships! :D

  9. Any recommendations on the best hop on/hop off tour buses in NYC? I've searched many of them but see good and bad comments for all. Anyone have a positive experience with a company recently? Looking for a line that will give a general overview of the biggest tourist sites in NYC over 2 days.

    Thanks!
