The best alcohol shop for range and styles is

    http://www.gulmoharsxm.com -

There really is not another store to compare, especially if one is seeking rare Malts and Rum.

I’ve heard this too.  Is it safe just to take a cab to this store and back?  Or is it in the downtown area that if we just got into town we’d find it?

  2. Just back from our Cruise and we used RomeinLimo 3 port package.  The service and drivers were so fantastic I felt I needed to get a review out here for the CruiseCritic group.  We booked the 3 port package (Naples, Rome & Florence) to maximize our time in our cruise ports and I have to say it was the absolute best decision we made for our trip.

Upon arrival at the port it was super easy to find our driver in each port. They all had our name on a sign and the minute we met each other we were whisked away before our the other hundreds of cruise ship passengers arrived at the sites.

Naples - our driver was Giovani .....so knowledgeable and when a terrible wreck on the main road to Positano closed the road, he knew the back way and we were able to stay on track with our visit. After time in Positano and Sorrento, we went to Pompei and had a private guide. It was highly suggested by RomeinLimo and honestly was another great decision. Our guide Lucio had a passion for Pompei, knew how to navigate without getting mixed in with the masses and really made the visit so memorable.

Rome - our driver was Enrico and we just LOVED Enrico. So knowledgeable, helpful and overall felt like we made a friend for life. Rome was my favorite of all of our stops and this was due in part to how efficient Enrico made our day. We visited all the top sites and then went onto Vatican City for our private guide Massimo - once again a fantastic decision. He was employed by Vatican City and he was able to cut lines, move through the crowd with ease, etc. Best decision again!

Florence - our driver was Vinny and his love for his city was apparent from the start, he was so fantastic and again knew how to navigate the city when yet another wreck stopped traffic, giving us a view of the Tuscan countryside as we went a different way into Florence.

If you are a cruise ship passenger, if you take one thing from this review it is that you should spend this money for private drivers - it will maximize your trip ten-fold! You really get maximize the time you have in these cities so much more effectively and the guides, drivers, etc. are simply the best!

We paid $1400 ish USD and it was just my husband and I.   You can get this cost down by inviting others from your rollcall - the tour would still be the same.   We were going to places that the cruise ship tour passengers couldn't reach, we saw so much in our limited time.

  3. You can use it for everything you would use your SeaPass card for, except for getting on and off the ship.

Just off Harmony last month, the wow band worked for everything except getting on/off ship AND it didn’t work for the soda only package. Totally was a bummer as I had to carry my card around for the coke package. However, was told if I had the drink package it could be loaded on Wow pass. Don’t understand how the coke only package couldn’t be on the wow band, but it wasn’t.

  4. 26 cruises and luggage has always fit under bed (typical luggage)

St. Marten - If you want to see the plans landing (google Maho beach) just take a cab (another more pretty beach is within walking distance also). So plan the day there if you want a beach day, etc.

Labadee -- don't need an excursion BUT when you get off the ship and walk down the pier you will see a beautiful beach on the left side (don't go to that beach). It's very rocky. Take tram to Columbus Cove (which is all the way past the straw market) - its a much better beach and you will LOVE it there. You will think it's crazy to walk past the beach on the left because from the walk way it looks so inviting -- but don't. Lots of folks don't like a stop at Labadee because they didn't enjoy this beach.

Puerto Rico - the ship stops right in the old downtown area. If you want a beach book an excursion, if you want to walk around the town and visit the fort (pretty cool) then you don't need an excursion.

  5. While only you can determine what risks you are most comfortable with, I do hope you are weighing the risk of your luggage not making a connecting flight against the risk of your missing the ship by flying in the afternoon of embarkation.

Agree completely, looks like the OP decided to go in a day ahead of time.

  6. Easy free beach, very walkable from ship (nothing really to see along the way) but shops and a McDonalds. The beach itself is not a fantastic beach, but has nice water but I needed water shoes. However, there is a ton of action at this beach, everyone is friendly and for $20 you can get 2 chairs, 4 beers and a a few shots. For $30 you can get unlimited. It’s very inexpensive. Beach games, band, tons of action!

  7. Fun fact: if you do collect all of the toppers, you can send them to the distillery and they will mount them, in order, on a barrel stave at no charge.

    Just did this....turned out awesome!!

  8. I just got of the Oasis of the Seas the end of December and we tried a boardwalk balcony (3rd from the end) this time just to see. We typically book ocean view balcony rooms. I can honestly say that I missed the ocean view (even though we could see the water out the back of this ship (had a good view), I really missed the ocean view. I found that I missed the view at port as well. the view out of the back of the ship was non eventful, no watching the boats come by the ships (if on the outside at a port) and no view of the beautiful place we were visiting when on the pier side. I would recommend the balcony, especially if it’s your honeymoon cruise.

  9. We were on the Oasis of the Seas in December and the onboard shops had Blantons for $40 a bottle and would sell us 8 with each of the letters. Ugh we were flying home so could t take the deal. Can’t find it on the shelves here in Ohio.

  10. we have booked a Boardwalk balcony on Allure for later in the year. Not had one of these before.

I am aware of the perks that come with this cabin, free meal for four in Johnny rockets, rock climbing lesson and the free soda package.

Question, do you get a sticker on your sea pass card for the soda package or is it just the adult ‘sippy’ cup with the built in chip for the freestyle machines?

I am hoping it is a sticker on the sea pass card.

We just had a boardwalk balcony cabin and the sticker (or indicator) wasn’t on card. We did t want to carry the cup so we stopped at guest services and they put a stick on for us. We checked we a few other cabins (just to see if it was a glitch for us only) and they didn’t have sticker either. Again, no biggie as guest services fixed.

  11. If you buy at Kay’s Jewelers or mall jewelry stores back home, yes the jewelry shops in the islands will be a better deal (typically). If you have a relationship with a jeweler back home that doesn’t rip you off, then I would suggest working with your local jeweler. Now, if you’re buying $200 items, big deal, get it where you want. But if you are buying a huge purchase, I would recommend leg work before buying on an island. Like another poster here, I bought a small $300 ring for my daughter from Diamonds International and it broke as soon as we got home. It was a ship sponsored store and we registered our purchase. Was still a royal pain getting it fix and then finally replaced. I’m not saying all the jewelry stores in the islands will rip you off - there are legit businesses down there. But, any issues, while able to be handled are a lot more difficult than just walking into the jeweler you have a relationship with at home.

  12. We have done over 25 cruises - lots in oceanview balcony rooms; however, this past cruise on the Oasis of the Seas we had boardwalk balcony (3rd from the back) so that we could see the water out of the back of the ship and also see the aqua theater and boardwalk. I can say that I did miss the full view of the ocean, I felt like I missed the ocean most of the trip and it felt more like a hotel stay versus a cruise. Just my personal preference but it was a miss for me. Booked Symphony and went back to oceanview balcony,

  13. We were just on the Oasis of the Seas (12/10/17 sailing). We have sailed many times in December, no problem swimming, it’s warm and has been beautiful. But this trip’s weather was less than ideal. We had only 1 sunny day and in Jamaica I had on a sweater. The temp was 70, it was overcast (and spotty rain) but the wind was so strong it was quite nippy. So, if a cold front comes though you “could” have a problem.

  14. Just off the Oasis (last Sunday), the dress was from very dressy to very casual. Capris in the dining room, absolutely - lots. On formal night my husband wore a pair of slacks and golf shirt and fit in fine. He also wore this exact outfit to Chops and was perfectly fine. You’ll see it run the full spectrum. I did see folks in nice shorts and shirts in the dining room as well. Overall, I didn’t see anyone that looked out of place in any of their outfits.
