Nope, I’ve been a rockstar a bunch, and if you can’t book something, they won’t make room for you.  It could be that they either added space or a group decided to cancel. Same with dinner reservations- even as mega rockstar couldn’t get a prime reservation when we wanted to change some things around.

In July our Rockstar agent had shows pre booked for us when we met him at our cabin.  Not sure if this is the norm but we did decline the NSA show.

Dining is 30 days prior. Show reservations are once you are on board and it fills QUICKLY. Like… ruins your stuff real fast. My least favorite aspect this.

I know i'm late but if you are a Rockstar your agent pre books shows for you.  A lest that is what happened to us last July.

    Great review!

The only really accurate answer(s) would have to come from Carnival corporate or from John Heald’s facebook page.

I would not trust or believe one word from John Heald's facebook page.  A week out of our April 30th, 5 day cruise on the Breeze John said the ship would be back from dry dock from Spain on time.  3 days before the cruise we received a latter from Carnival that the Breeze was going to be late and is now a 4 day cruise.  Just saying..

  4. But the line also announced that it is developing plans to offer rapid testing at all of its U.S. homeports. That would be welcome news, as the 48-hour requirement could prove difficult for many, especially those traveling who wish to arrive early into the port city.

“We realize some of our guests are having a challenge getting a pre-cruise COVID-19 test,” Carnival’s site now states, “especially with the new two-day window established by the CDC that goes into effect on September 13. We are working to set up mobile testing sites at all our embarkation homeports to conduct a rapid test the day before or day of your departure.”

A fee will be involved, but the amount has not yet been determined.

“Carnival will be subsidizing the infrastructure of the mobile testing sites, but the company providing the testing will charge a per-person fee (to be established). Providers will not accept insurance, but you will be provided a receipt should you wish to submit the cost to your insurance carrier,” the line states.

Thank you cynt for starting this topic!  We've discussed this in the event our cruise gets cancelled. It's out of Galveston on the Dream. Sooooo if it does:

    1. We're going down to Galveston anyway since it's on the 'ocean', and lots and lots of things to see and do.

    2. Going to Colorado; Manitou Springs. Spent many summers there as a kid with my folks. It's beautiful up there.

    3. New Orleans. We drove there 3 summers in a row to explore, as both of us are history buffs. Love it. The atmosphere, the history(drove the river road, both ways from NOLA to Baton Rouge and back. Saw every plantation mansion along the route. We both want to go back.

    4. Red River,  New Mexico. It's in the mountains too. Absolutely beautiful. My mom wanted to retire there. We've been there skiing during the ski season. Would go back there in a blink of an eye.

Where ever we decide to go, we will be driving, like O.C. To much stuff to see and do as the miles slide by driving.

From New Mexico.  Will be at Red River in July for our annual trip.  Been going there for about 20 years.

So for the steerage class, the change from getting you card at boarding to in your mailbox/room is a disadvantage.  Sounds to me like Carnival is creating their own mess rather than providing a better solution.

It is a better solution.  Maybe you should experience it before complaining. 😎

  7. Our experience is that after many Carnival cruises the last being on Conquest where most of the guests were crude and very loud, although the ship itself and crew were very nice and food excellent. We then went onto two NCL cruises and one RCL, These were completely different experiences and a totally different clientele. These were very enjoyable cruises due to the difference in guests which did not display such crude behavior. It's too bad since Carnival does have a good product but the guests just seem raunchier for lack of better wording. Sadly I can't get my family back on a Carnival ship.

So why are you on a Carnival board?
