  1. I am looking to book an independent excursion in St. Thomas in November. Our ship is docked from 8am-6pm. One tour I looked at starts at 9am. The local company explained that in November St. Thomas will be on Atlantic time, which is 1 hour ahead of EST.

I am assuming this 8-6 time will be ship's time, or EST, so I will not be able to book this tour, since it will begin at the same time we dock. Am I correct on this?....

What's the name of the "local company"?

Do you really think they would risk their reputation by giving you bad information? We have found that "locals" go out of their way to make future business. If you wish, check with Trip Adviser for more information.

I would guess they will be waiting for you, as they can see the ship arrive.

  2. The bus still operates however it operates according to the scheduled times. I can not remember if it is in effect or not but the buses would leave the Dockyard with space so that they do not bypass those at the bus stops along the routes. It has been a challenge for the bus service to be there to accommodate the cruise passengers and the locals too.

A taxi to the Horseshoe Bay to the beach would cost you around $35.00 and Sunday's are additional. Let me know what day you're arriving.

If you have other Bermuda questions, let me know.

    TY... I'm Following this thread.

  3. For the OP: The POA is the only cruise ship that's based in Hawaii, and gives you the most time in the islands. For that reason it is always very popular, and NCL has little reason to put the ship on sale. NCL is fairly good about refunds or upgrades if the prices do drop, though. But don't expect it.

Since you're looking to cruise on a very specific date, I'd go ahead and book now.

The countdown is on. How exciting to look forward to Hawaii. The sun, sand and ocean breeze. Can't wait.

    Happy Sailing Everyone.

  4. I'm sure you will have a fabulous time! Sounds like your Roll Call is a pretty active one!

Thanks for the compliments, I sure do appreciate them :)

The great thing about a new camera is all the fun of learning it! I, too, had gotten a new one before this trip, as I did not want to carry my DSLR & lens around. I ended up with a Panasonic DMC-FZ200. I took TONS of pictures, hoping for some good ones. Overall, I was pleased, though I do still have a lot to learn using that camera.

    Enjoy & happy travels!

Great review with beautiful photos. I am starting to get excited about our journey on the Jade to the Med in April. It sure looks like you and your Dad enjoyed your travels. How nice for you both.

  5. ***I think I get it now, wasn't sure why you would think $200 cash back would be better than the $200 OBC. ***

    Thanks for the advice !?!

I just cashed in 20,000 points

and BoA let me know that they are happy to send me a check for $160.00 NOT $200.

Maybe I should have taken the on board credits ?
