  1. I hope I never have to cruise with anyone from Hee Haw!:D

Not on the cruise but waiting for the flight home my friend and I talked to Lil Flip at the airport. He was sitting next to us and kept talking to us often. We wondered why people were coming up to him asking for autographs but didn't want to ask. We heard people calling him Flip but that meant nothing to us. When I got home, I did some searching on the Net and found out he was an upcoming hip hop singer.

  2. Thanks for all the info- We are first time cruisers- I am convinced we won't be in any hurry to leave! We will be driving home from Galveston to Denver! There are 4 of us and we decided we are still young enough to road trip it and save $$$. We plan on driving straight through to get home Monday morniningish. Anyway- we are totally the "wait till the stadium is empty" kind of people---as opposed to the "leave in the 3rd quarter" kind of people- LOL! Since we are also driving straight through from Denver to Galveston---any suggestions about freshening up before we get on the ship at the beginning of the cruise? I am sure we'll arrive around 10 in the morning. We'll need to change and have red bull with vodka----be ready to go!!!!

I will be doing the same as you but just driving to Oklahoma. I'm never in a big rush to leave because I would rather have a lot of the cruise traffic out of the way when I start heading home.

If you will be arriving to Galveston around 10 embarkation morning, I would drive down to the Seawall and find a restaurant there to freshen up. I know you will pass a McDonalds on the way to Seawall and there is a Wendy's, Denny's, and a couple of other fast food places on Seawall. They usually don't allow you to start boarding until about 11:00 so you would have plenty of time to get to the pier.

  3. This happened to a young girl who I work with. She bought a new truck and got a "free" cruise. Since I was the only person she knew who went on cruises, she asked me to check it out for her. She had her pick from two CCL ships out of Florida...the Fantasy and another one maybe out of Miami. It was a 4 night cruise. She would be responsible for: air, port charges and taxes, and gratuities. She's a young girl of 18 who struggles to even make the truck payment and there was no way she could do this. It would have cost her less money to book the Ecstasy out of Galveston and drive rather than take the "free" cruise.

I do hope your experience is different and I'm glad to see you are doing your homework! Keep us posted!:)

  4. I don't think she was saying she only FOUND cereal, just that that is the only thing she liked. I was on the same sailing as the OP and I found the food to be quite good. Somethings I didn't like, but hey, that's just life...get something else. Was fun just trying different things. Definitely gained a few lbs so it must not have been too bad! :)[/quote

I was referring to the numerous posts the OP has made about the same subjest on about 3 different discussions on CC. She said she only found cereal on the buffet on one post.

I think new cruisers have an idea in their mind about what cruises are like. Some expect all line to be luxury liners, with pampering 24/7, large rooms, and great food. Maybe they are watching too may old Love Boat reruns:)

I stick to the dining rooms, too.

  5. Just cruious....has anyone else fould ONLY boxed cereal at the breakfast buffet?? I have always found a variety of foods on the buffet. Is it possible you got there late when they were cleaning up or are you slightly exagerating?:)
