I don’t think your TA waited long enough.  I’ve been able to get through on the TA phone line every day this week.  A couple of 2 1/2 wats but I got through.

Well nothing I can do about, personally I think 1/2 hour wait is unacceptable. Regardless no doubt Royal Caribbean bombed customer service on this issue.

  2. I tried everything I could, over 4 hours on hold with no answer, 5 emails with no response. Contacted TA and she said she could not get through either. I finally had to give up and contest on credit card. If they would have just have sent an email with an update on things that could have worked but honestly amazed at the lack of a response from RCCL.

Where do you find these last minute cruises? Must be something other than Carnival's website.  I would jump on something like that in a heartbeat if it was close enough to me.

They will be in your VIFP offers. Usually is a last minute casino offer, I only spend about $100 per cruise in the casino but somehow still qualify for offers like this 2-3 times a year.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but it's not just a matter of traveling without both parents (who are still together). In the OP's case, it's a custody issue. Ex has to consent to travel, but she won't. I don't think he's worried about getting passed Carnival or CBP. If he goes without her consent, it could mean an expensive legal hassle that he's trying to avoid.

Even if she is BS crazy and takes him to court over this I think a judge is going to laugh, not even sure he would need an attorney in defense. Take the kids on the cruise! Even if she got legal I am not sure what she is going to win. I dealt with situations like this with older kids and 99.9% of the time the ex is just talking a great game. The kids are grown now don't worry about the legal stuff as If he goes and she sues for something it will cost her a lot of money and there is absolutely nothing she can win by doing so. No judge is going to reverse a long standing custody arrangement with a 17 year going on vacation with a parent. Threats is all she has and its a pretty weak threat with no positive outcome on her. Again just me (who does have experience in this category) I would be on the ship with my kids.

  5. I have taken my kids on a couple of cruises without my wife. I had the signed letter but they never asked for it. If it were me I would just go, if they happen to ask for the consent letter oh well perhaps have one with a strange signature on it (believe me I doubt they ask).

  6. I received the same players club sign and sail email. Not a huge gambler here (usually about $200-$250 per cruise) and its the first time I have ever received an offer like this. Ended up booking me and my son a 4 nighter out of Charleston on the Sunshine for $30 each for an inside (rest of family could not free schedule to go). With port fees and pre paid gratuities it ended up being $345 total with a $50 OBC. I am 2 points short of platinum so this will get me there and we can enjoy those benefits on the next cruise!

  7. I have the medium kyss bag for five years no and love it! Great bag for what you need but it's not waterproof.

The medium is pretty big so if you don't have much get the small one.

Thanks checked out the website and looks nice. They are backordered though and I leave a week from Tomorrow. Should have asked sooner :loudcry:

  8. Why would you bring a wallet? Mine goes in the safe day one and comes out the last day, same with our passports. When we go to shore I bring S&S card, DL, a little cash, and a credit card all in my bathing suit pocket. Many beach stops have lockers for rent if you must bring all that stuff with you.

I had my wallet with me the the time because we had our port cancelled the day before and we came into Nassau a day early so I booked a room at Atlantis and enjoyed the resort. As you can see from my signature I am not a newbie to this and aware of lockers..... but like to have my stuff close but for pics (an also I own a business so I need to check email and call.....) Just curious if someone has a recommended storage solution they use. thanks

  9. Several years ago I was at Atlantis resort while on a cruise and left my backpack out and had my wallet and all my money stolen. As you can imagine my day in Nassau excursion ended up going to the police station to report it then figuring out how to get back on the ship since my room card and drivers license was gone. The resort was very helpful and paid for my cab and the next time I was there comped me a day but now I am super paranoid about leaving my stuff around. Now there are 4 of us who go in totally different directions on beach days and I seem to be the one that has to hang our with 4 iPhones, wallets, cameras cash..... Any one have an recommendations on how they handle this. Is there a recommended back pack that can be locked and tethered to a chair. I definately don't want to have to take some crazy waterproof bag with me every time I go into the water.

  10. Leaving in 3 days on the Navigator or the Sea. First time to Belize, I usually book my excursion at the pier but was looking for advise if reputable venders are readily available when I get off the tender. Any help is appreciated. Was thinking about Cave Tubing thingie w. family of 4.

  11. I would do it in a heartbeat but forget about waiting on a shuttle. Get a Cab and go.... If you land at noon get your luggage you are in a cab by 1245 even with a hiccup or 2 and at the ship by 145. The extra cost for a cab will be worth it for what you saved on flights. Rent a car post cruise and find someplace nice to eat and go hang out at the beach for a few hours.

  12. Date: March 22, 2015

    Ship: Valor

    Class of Guarantee: Balcony

    Cabin Assigned: 8A-6416 and 6414

    Date Assigned: 3/2/15

No upgrade here but very happy I booked 2 GTD Balcony rooms and they were assigned next door to each other.

  13. I switched to a balcony guarantee on the Valor (March 22nd) during the Halloween sale too and am anxiously awaiting my assignment as well. All of the balconies on my sailing are now showing as sold out, so I'm hoping that means they are working on the assignments now.

I hope you get assigned a great cabin!

We are on the same ship and I did online registration last night with the room TBD but we got our rooms assigned today.

  14. We are on the Valor Repositioning cruise in March. We were booked in an inside and were able to upgrade to a balcony for $11 per person more but got $20 OBC so upgrading from an inside to a balcony for basically $1 per person..... no brainer. The rate for a balcony gtd on this is $300 pp very happy here. 1 day in SJ followed by a 5 night cruise a day to rest then 2 days at Disney!!!! only having to book air to San Juan one way was a big saver also!!!

  15. I actually do not spend much in the Casino probably on average about $30 a day. My last cruise I actually did win a good bit (which I proceeded to lose) but did accumulate over 1,000 points (8 night cruise). We booked 2 rooms in March and the one booked under my VIFP number was quite a bit lower with some casino cash that the other so I really do not know where the clip is but it can't be that high.
