Trying to decide on whether to change our booking on Freedom of the Seas in November with all the negative reviews I have read lately. So, I am looking for some recent experiences on Freedom. Was the ship in good or bad shape. Rooms? We are in a suite on Freedom. Anyone stay in a suite lately? What particular things stood out for those amenities? Do they have a suite sun deck? Do they have a suite lounge? We have been sailing on larger ships lately and I have forgotten the amenities on the Freedom class. Thanks so much for any help or advice.
We were on the Freedom on a B2B in March, we were in a grand suite and it was very well maintained, The ship was in great shape. We received a Pinnacle on the ship and they did a fantastic job. The crew was great.

Nope. Smoking is still allowed in the Casinos on all RC ships.
I hate to break your bubble but there is no Smoking in the Casino onboard ships sailing out of Australia or New Zealand.

Then why not alcohol free?
Many people die from alcohol use?
They restrict smoking to certain areas, so stay away from them.
I am not a smoker, but my SO is. If Royal goes smoke free, we will be unable to sail with them. Good thing there are other lines.
You don't have to deal with second hand alcohol.

No indication that it will work?
I just went onto there wed sight and I have two words for it.
It's sucks
It dropped 8 of my 13 upcoming cruises and my cruise history is wrong.
Called crown and anchor desk which was no help. the only thing they could stay was to wait a few days for royal to get the kinks out. Know royal that could take a couple of years.
Why cant they leave well enough along.

We are recently retired couple. We always get travel insurance through Royal for our cruises. Recently our insurance coverage has changed and we are only covered in a tri state area. What I would like to know , if there are travel insurance companies that cover land and cruise vacations? Are they reasonable? Do they cover international travel ( we have a Mediterranean cruise next year but going in 4 days early) ? Thank you everyone for your help.
Try Blue Cross International, you can purchase it
by the cruise or for a full year of travel. Both on board and on land.

So last night the upgrade fairy paid a visit and changed us from junior suite to a grand suite. the documentation still shows the junior suite as does the luggage tags. do these change and i need to reprint or do they make the changes when we get to port?
crusie departs on Saturday!
TA was notified by Royal of our upgrade from a Grand Suite to the Royal Suite on the Jewel. All Doc's were changed in 24 hrs. The upgrade was three months before the cruise.

Can anyone confirm the Nav concierge - we are sailing in January in Royal Suite, I sent an email/two to the concierge with a few requests and have not had any response. Normally we have always gotten a prompt response
Thanks
I emailed her twice before my Nov. 27 cruise and never received a response. I reached out to the Diamond Concierge and received a reply the same day.

Just read on a few reviews that the Empress Casino is non smoking, can any recent cruisers confirm this? Thanks
Just got off the Empress and there was no smoking in the Casino.

We have booked the hibachi dinner for one evening at a cost of $30 per person. Looking at the online menu RCCl showed, it shows a single entree price (chicken, steak, etc...) and a combination entree price (steak & shrimp or chicken & shrimp, etc...). Does the amount we prepaid cover the combo entree offerings?
Thanks for any help.
We did the Hibachi two weeks ago. I pre-paid for two at $30.00, We did the combination and paid $5.00 more per person. By the way we had a great time and there was plenty of food.

After experiencing this 20 years ago, there is no more "his" and "her" luggage when we pack. All the of the clothing and shoes are equally split between the bags so we have some of our clothes if one bag doesn't arrive as oppose to one of us having nothing.
That works if you receive some of your luggage. We have been doing that for years but last year we sailed out of Barcelona without our luggage. It all went
New York. It took 4 days for it to catch up with us.

Just received the gratuities on my Australia / New Zealand. They just changed there policy

We are booked to cruise out of Barcelona in June. To avoid getting lost and dealing with hotels, etc. we were thinking about arriving in the morning of the cruise. The cruise ship leaves at 6 pm, our flight would arrive at 11 am.
Has anyone else done this, I'm afraid something will go wrong and we will miss the cruise. What do you think?
Thank you for your help!!
We arrived in Barcelona the day of the cruise last year. Our luggage went to New York and it took four day's to catch up to us. Royal was great in working on getting the luggage but the airlines weren't much help.
Fly in a day early.

Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines or non-alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use on boarding day or while in port.
FYI
I have been taking water and soda on cruises for years. When you see non-alcoholic it means non-alcoholic beer. like O'douls. So bring on your soda or water and yes they will inspect it to make sure the seals aren't broken.

Jorge was our Concierge on the Granduer a few weeks ago, He was excellent!
Thanks

FYI.
The new concierge on the Explorer starting on Jan 18, is JORGE GUTIERREZZ.
Does anyone know anything about him?
-
We are leaving on Jan 31 on Explorer. Does the ship get the feed of the game live?
If you are leaving on Jan 31, you are going to miss the ship by 2 days. It leaves on Jan 29th.

We did a 6 day pre-cruise this past June and had a great time. We started in Fairbanks. If you are starting out in Fairbanks I would suggest you fly in a day early.
