    Check with your cell provider. Many will charge roaming while on a cruise ship as texting uses data.

  4. Do NOT take Amtrak the day of the cruise. It looks like you're on a repo cruise, so if you miss the ship, it will be a real mess. I cruise from Cape Liberty and ALWAYS come down the day before.

     

     

     

    The direct price on lq.com is showing at $220. This hotel is not a dump. Some of the New Yorkers stay there when they do an overnight in the city, which is why I tried it and it greatly exceeded my expectations. They have Queens and kings, which is unusual in Manhattan. I went to the 911 Memorial, the Freedom Tower, and to a Broadway show.

     

     

     

    Thank....yes with a AARP discount it is $198 before taxes. Room reviews are 75% positive I would say. Main concern is location. Looks like it isn’t as close to Times Square as we were hoping. Also, I would need to find some vegan friendly places to eat for me and definitely a Starbucks lol.. Thanks,,,i will keep your suggestion in mind.

  5. Oct 31? What is your hotel budget? 2 people? Bed size requirements?

     

     

     

    The La Quinta on W 32nd St is $220 plus tax - less with AAA, AARP, etc discounts. Last Feb I took Amtrak from Boston to NY Penn Station and just walked to the hotel. Subway was on the corner. Times Square was within walking distance. Hotel was very clean, modern and updated with free breakfast and free wifi. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it frequently on this board. It's a huge step up from the hotels next to Penn Station.

     

     

     

    Uber to Red Hook. Taxi or car service are other options.

     

     

     

    Thanks will check it out. Just 1 queen or king for 2 people. Looking for a not so small room as I know many in NY are by reading reviews. Budget is subjective...don’t want to spend a fortune for part of a day. But do not want a dump either. Haven’t been to NY so hoping to get a taste of what it has to offer. Hubby wants to head to NY the day of cruise.,,I want to go the day before.

     

    I did a quick look at that hotel...about $300 and up with taxes on Priceline. Will have to check directly. That is about what the other cheaper options have been.

  6. Not sure if this is the right thread to ask. We are probably taking Amtrak from Boston area to New York Penn station. Hoping to possibly find a hotel near Times Square and leave the next morning for a Princess Cruise out of Red Hook in Brooklyn. Advice on hotel near things to do mostly walking distance and best way to get around to get to Red Hook. I’m assuming Uber? Tips?. Appreciate it thanks

  7. I'm so frustrated with this company. I reserved a room at Hyatt at least 6 wks ago and still have heard nothing.

     

     

     

    Call the hotel directly. That is how I found I did have a reservation. They will give you the confirmation number.

    I just tried Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston.

     

    None of them worked.

     

     

     

    It’s good that all I wanted was the Hyatt in FLL.

     

     

     

    Yeah...the homepage has a copyright of 1998 to 2017 or 2018. But when you search other states it has 1998 to 2008...odd.

  10. If you now have your confirmation number, you can go to:

    https://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/reservations/reservation.jsp?stop_mobi=yes

    It is the "Find Upcoming Reservations" Page, and you can put your info in under the "With Your Confirmation # " and it will give you a nice page that can be printed out with all the info.

    Oh I've been to the Hyatt website and it had part of my information and part of value trips. I should be all set now after getting some help from someone at Hyatt. They had to make changes on their end couldn't do it on my end. But thanks!

  11. I noticed this as well - I think it shows like that because Value Trips booked it as your "Agent". We didn't change anything on the reservation, and this info didn't effect our stay at all.

     

     

    I was able to call the hotel directly and get information about our reservation and work with them once the reservation was confirmed. I would give them a call to confirm everything if that will ease your mind.

    I called the hotel and somehow the woman transferred me to corporate. The guy I got was clueless and was calling the hotel personally to figure things out. But somehow I ended up with someone else in corporate who did have a clue LOL. Yes their information is generally on there for tracking purposes but she was able to also add some of my information to the reservation besides just my name. But I just checked it out and noticed that now my address is a combination of both I think she forgot to delete a line LOL. But she said not to worry that thing should be fine. I had her send me an email direct from Hyatt as I still haven't gotten one from value trips with my confirmation number. I wanted something more than what someone read me over the telephone. I take screenshots of everything and put them in my travel folder on my iPad. And I also save them in a travel folder on my phone. Good for quick references when you're traveling in case there's issues

  12. So....impatient me tried modifying and adding in the correct info. It seemed like it worked but then gives me an error. Tried multiple times. Logged back in and the incorrect info is still there. Now am feeling really uncomfortable about this whole thing. I need to get info from the hotel directly...not VT.

  13. Ok..so I wanted a screenshot of my info so this time I signed in on my World of Hyatt acct. Odd thing and don’t know if I should change it. The reservation has my name but with a Tampa FL address, my phone number, and valuetrips email. So weird....

  14. Since the hotel has your reservations for the three days and at the Value Trips rate, it sounds like you are set. Give Value Trips a few more days to send you their confirmation. Enjoy your stay!

  15. I called the Hyatt Place this morning to confirm the reservation. Everything is OK. I am confirmed for the date and the price that Value Trips stated.

     

    This seems to have worked for me. I hope everyone else gets the room that they want and at the correct price.

    Thanks for update. I went and checked my original 1 day res. In my app. It was there and today it said cancelled. No new emails about the 3 day one so I called. Hotel had another res for 3 days and gave me the confirmation number. I checked my app and it is there at VT rate. Still haven't received confirmation from VT however lol..

  16. I just received my confirmation email from Value Trips. It was exactly one week since I applied online. I will call the hotel tomorrow to make sure everything is correct.

  17. I got my response five days after sending in my request. Everything is in order -- correct price, etc. I did use a credit card when booking; perhaps that makes a difference. Sigh of relief.

     

     

     

    Wow lucky you.... This whole procedure has been too stressful and not user friendly imo. I emailed back not even 10 mins from finally getting a response from them. They said they weren’t sure if I was adding a new reservation or modifying the original. I sent a reply and was hoping for a quick reply back,,,, no such luck. I am still in limbo on whether they are changing me from 1 night to 3. Can’t change my airfare till I am sure..

  18. Finally got a response. They said they had sent me emails.....but I have not received anything until, today. Got 1 night confirmed but hopefully changing it to 3 nights. Need a definite confirmation before changing our airfare.

  19. On another thread about Value Trips one poster said that they had to contact the hotel directly to confirm their reservation, but the price was higher than the stated price on Value Trips. Has anyone else experienced this before?

     

     

     

    I called the hotel the other day. They had no reservation listed for me.

  20. I have used value trips twice now in the last year and have had no issues getting reservations. I think people are use to booking and instantly getting their reservation and get worried with value trips because it takes longer.

  21. Check you spam it may have been stopped from goin to your email. Also for Late March I got a message that could not offer their rate for that day (was over $200). It is the Thursday before Easter. So if early April may run into that. Luckily I had booked directly months ago so just kept that

    I always check my SPAM and my junk mail. I sent an email asking a question got no reply to that. But I did get replies to requests for late April and another for May . I received replies saying April was denied and they needed my credit card info for the one in May. I resubmitted for May and never got a reply or acceptance. I submit it again yesterday for 3 days in May instead of one waiting to see what happens.

  22. I wouldn't submit the form again you could end up with double reservations, I would send an email asking about your original request. They do take some time to get back to you, I waited 2 weeks and hadn't heard, sent an email and they sent my reservation the next day.

    Too late I had already resubmitted but instead of one day I submitted for 3. I had sent them an email asking a question weeks ago and never got a reply back. I submitted for a date in late April and I got a reply back that it wasn't available. I submitted another date for May and I got a reply back saying they needed my credit card info. So I resubmitted for May and I haven't heard anything and it's been a couple weeks. Yesterday I resubmitted for May again but for 3 days instead of one.
