I just received confirmation from our hotel for next Friday night, and they have full power connected to the SJ power authority and not a generator...

They cancelled our 12/2 reservation. I have been calling once a week to confirm our reservation. Today they said it's cancelled due to water and power issues.

We had planned to stay here too on 12/2. After hearing about their generator problems they said we could cancel our non refundable room and get. Refund. Now I have to find a new hotel. Or we'll be spending the night in the airport pre-cruise.

We fly in on the 12th and hoping our room is secured at the Comfort Inn in Condado.

We have a pre-paid reservation for there on December 2nd. Would love to hear how your stay goes.

Thanks, scand, I have found the roll-call thread, probably need to keep a closer eye, though. I agree, it's a short day in port, hardly pays to do a dive; as it stands now, I'll just do a couple of tanks in Roatan. Nobody else dives, though, so looking for snorkeling options. I'll probably post something after I get back.

 

Yeah, those early December fares are always great. Those and the repositioning fares. Sorry you got stuck!

We will be on this cruise today and we are divers too. Hopefully we will meet you on the Roatan dive.

Hi, folks. I don't know if we're going to get to Harvest Caye or not, we're booked on the Norwegian Jade for Dec. 4-11 and there have been plenty of delays in getting the island ready.

Hi Jon,

We'll be on that cruise too. I hope we do get to go to Harvest Caye. My husband and I are planning to scuba dive at the other ports but probably won't take our snorkeling equipment off at this port, unless we here there is something worth seeing. We did a private island on Carnival last June. No snorkeling, but a beautiful beach. Brought a small float with me and just relaxed in the water. I'll probably do the same here.

Definitely look up the Roll call and meet and greet for our cruise.

I used Blue Water Divers. I thought they were outstanding, pick up and return to ship pier. 2 tank AM dive both wrecks. If I can remember the deepest I went was 37', but they different sites each day. From what I understand because of the barriers most wrecks and not that deep. Enjoy Bermuda.

We have dove with BWD many times and have always taken a taxi to and from. How did you get transportation from them? I know the last couple times we went a new owner had taken over. Seemed like everyone else used taxis too. Thanks.

Any recommendations for a great dive shop in Aruba?

We are going to book our dive trip through Carnival for our cruise. We always book directly now when cruising to Bermuda, but haven't been to Aruba yet. Figured it would be easier to book through the ship this time.

Any one have an approximate cost for a taxi? I will look up shuttles, since that would be a set price. Thanks

Is it possible to make a return flight @ 11:30, or are we cutting it too close. it states the ship docks at 8am.

Our choices were 9:40am or 1:24pm. I couldn't handle the stress of not making it in time and chose the latter. At the beginning of the month we had no problems getting off the ship but just this past Sunday it sounded like there was a backup in customs and things were delayed. When is the next flight out?

We always stay at the Quality Inn on S. Mabry St. Hotel $85 range,it's fine for us. Great customer service,clean ,friendly staff. Free airport pickup,free breakfast and $8 to cruise port. Publix is across the street as well as small stores ,fast food places and restaurants ,also upsacle food store nearby. Hope this helps.

Leaving for the first time out of Tampa. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive (but not gross :) ) hotel. Like a Best Western? And transportation from the airport to the hotel and do any hotels have shuttle to port? TIA
