  1. I searched the boards, and found this thread, prior to posting.
I’m booked on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale. I booked the cruise prior to the release of my work schedule. If I’m reading the PVSA correctly, I CAN debark in Grand Turk in order to make flights to be in Manila in time that I’m needed? It means only missing the last sea day before the ship arrives back in Fort Lauderdale.
Thank You in advance for your answers.

  2. The ship I’ll be on is advertising 8a-8p in Le Harve. For the purpose of my excursion, I’m going with 9-5. I’ve read countless reviews and options of day trips to Paris and they’ve all referenced taking a bus. It appears trains leave Le Havre every hour for Paris. Who here has taken a train and done “Paris on your own”? The train appears to be approx 2hr 15 min. vs 3-3/4 - 4hrs. Please share your experiences! Thank You.

  3. Hello-

we arent cruising until Feb 2018, but I homeschool my kids and summer is the only time I will be able to plan for this. any and all help is SO appreciated. we are sailing on the Vista with 4 kids (20,18,12,10).

    1. Can we bring bottled water (and soda) on board, like 24 packs? If not, will the price go down online for it through the ship? Right now its showing $4.50 for 12. Bottled water, no. 12 packs of cans, yes. The prices listed generally do not change.

    2. Formal night, how formal is it on Carnival? Is it formal night in the $$ restaurants? Formal night, aka, Cruise Elegant night has taken on a personality of it's own. You will see people dressed in everything from tuxes and evening gowns, to Dockers and a buttoned down shirt. Formal night is ship wide.

    3. How do I book the Dr Suess breakfast? I believe this can booked once on board.

    4. There are only a handful of excursions on my Carnival page, will there be more? More than likely.

    5. Where can I look for outside vendors also? We are going to Gr Turk, St Kitts, San Juan and St Martin You can simple google the port name and the words shore excursions. Lots of options will pop up!

    6. What is the typical dress in the MDR's for dinner? Ive heard its gotten more casual. . . Can my kids come in in shorts and a t shirt? Shorts and a t-shirt are fine for during the day. I would at lease try to wear a collared shirt for dinner. If your younger children are enjoying camp carnival, you may not see them for dinner!

Sorry for all the questions, I thoroughly searched the Carnival cruise dashboard for our cruise, but didnt find answers.

    Thank you!

    Megan

Megan, you are welcome, and have fun!!

  4. Stayed in one on the Vista for the first-time. It was an 11day repositioning cruise and I had no problems. When traveling solo, I will definitely book this cabin again.

I was in one for the NYC inaugural cruise! I was in 1206 and loved it. Someone from our roll call organized a cabin crawl and those that visited my cabin were genuinely shocked that the forward porthole cabins were as spacious as they were. AND, I had more closet space!!

  5. As a sometime solo cruiser, this is my cabin of choice! I love the PT cabins. Depending on seas, you can be rocked to sleep or not. You will hear thrusters when docking. And I like the little extra walking to the front of the ship! Go for it! How can I add pictures?
  6. Let me start with I love NYE cruises! I've been on board when the holiday fell on elegant night and NOT on elegant night. On the non-elegant night people were more dressed up than on the scheduled elegant night. It is a great party on board!

  7. I did the inaugural US sailing from NYC. I will have to agree that they've tried to put too much in the ship. Long gone are the public seating areas on the Promenade. There are a few in the Atrium and on the two decks above the atrium. The public seating has been enveloped by other dining options, Pixels and Cherry on Top. Our sailing lacked bar and dining staff. It was stated that quite a few staff left the ship when it docked in NYC and did NOT return to work. To mirror what Coach Pedro said, most of the dining options, other than the dining room were only staffed with 2 employees. Pizza. Seafood Shack. Guy's Burgers. Blue Iguana Cantina. The coffee shop usually only had ONE person working. Until more staff is added, I would be hesitant to book the Vista again.

  8. my son is a gamer .. and cruising in one place he doesn't miss them. he wanted to bring it on the first one we planned. i gave him the alternative, cruise without games or stay at home. since then he's never asked again about bringing a system.

there is always enough going on between ship activities and excursion to keep him busy.

why pay for a cruise if you're going to sit in a cabin playing video games?

  9. I have attached files of the Recipe Index, please take look and decide on what recipe you want. Hope it works, please let me know if it didn't work.

The attachment worked, but I don't know if it's me or the resolution, but I can't read it. Do you have the recipe for tiramisu? Thanks for all you have listed thus far!!

  10. Hi All!

I've been watching the show, and then found the Olympus Fashion Week website. Some designers have shown already and PR is scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00am.

What I'm wondering is if the website is going to post the photos like they have from the other designers. I'll include the web address, as of right now, there are no photos listed.

I wonder if BravoTV has anything to say about whether pics get posted from a show that won't air till the middle of October!!!
