  1. Last year I made an 8:50am flight out of SEA after getting off the Bliss.  We were in a cab by I think 7:15am, we have TSA Precheck and we were still about 30 minutes early to our gate.  As a previous poster said, experienced travelers do not plan for worst case scenario.  I'm the type of person who gets to the airport 30 minutes early, I don't check bags, and in my last 100 flights I have missed a flight one time.  99 other times i enjoyed extra time in my day.

  2. I just received my upgrade offer by email and my cruise is 110 days away, so much earlier than the normal 8- days.  Also they used to only let you bid 2 categories higher, but i am staying in an inside room and I can bid on outside room, balcony and club balcony.  On the NCL site the difference on the cruise between inside and balcony is $750 per person, so I think having a bid accepted in the 200-300 range would be a big savings.

  3. Today is 80 days out for my Mediterranean cruise on the Epic. I didn't receive an email but when I logged on there was an option to upgrade. I am booked through the casino program in an inside room that was free except for taxes, port fees and an admin fee. When I booked this they told me the upgrade charge to go to a balcony would be $650 per person, so of course I said no way. The Epic does not have oceanview rooms.

I have the option to bid on a balcony (Range: $75-450) or a mini suite (Range: $100-500). I bid poor on both. My current room is high and mid ship which is what I like. This is my 20th cruise and I've been in every type of room except Haven rooms. I'm ok with inside rooms, its easier to sleep in because of the darkness. Even when I have a balcony room I never spend more than 5-10 minutes day on my balcony. I'll update when I receive an accept or deny email.

  4. Can anyone confirm if you have paid for travel protection insurance and your bid is accepted, do you have to pay additional travel insurance? I'm in an inside room now, the insurance is $31 a person, but I believe it goes upto $100 a person for balcony rooms, which isn't worth it to me. If I'm gonna bid I think I will cancel the insurance now.
