  1. Of course I didn't get travel insurance when I could have possibly used it, but then I did a lil research.... Information found on InsureMyTrip:

    HURRICANES AND OTHER INCLEMENT WEATHER

Cruise ships are obviously especially vulnerable to the effects of hurricanes or other severe weather. While travel insurance will not offer you any coverage if your cruise goes off as scheduled, but misses a few ports of call or has to re-route entirely due to bad weather, it can cover you if the cruise is cancelled or cut short. There are also important travel insurance benefits available that are related to bad weather that occurs at your home, or which impacts any portion of your trip, including air travel.

Hope Bermuda is spared more damage, but if not, looks like Bahamas here we come on the Explorer of the Seas.

  2. Yep as another poster mentioned, your arrival is scheduled after so you should be fine unless we encounter massive damage. The Norwegian Dawn is scheudled to arrive on Sunday so to give you an indication on ship arrivals I would suggest that you watch what happens with the Norwegian Dawn.

I posted some comments on the Norwegian form under the Gonzalo post whereby the poster called Norwegian (I forget the actual title name).

    Good idea.

  3. Call me cheap, but I think the cost to purchase a soda card is still to expensive. I bring my (sugar free) mixs from home and just make me a picture each day.:D
You can call me cheap too.

On our January cruise I got iced water + fresh lemons slices to make lemonade or tea and used Splendor. Those calories from regular soda's and sweetened punch can add up. I didn't even get the diet cokes, which are a treat for me. :p

  4. Jane,

I enjoyed reading your post; of my post. -LOL. I knew people would take from it what they take from it.

I am all too familiar with How Forums work, I belong to other boards and this is not a first for me. (Not to mean I don't make mistakes though). I was referring to people attacking what I said. There is a difference between disagreeing and attacking. Your comment was "a comment," not an attack. But at any rate...it's all good. :D

As for the race thing, that was an off handed comment that I should have omitted, got too carried away there.

But for the record, let me say for EVERYONE.... Please excuse my "Black" comment. It was not meant to create a controversary. But life for some does on ocassion involve such.

Hahaha, but I know better than to think some will be able to control their impulse or need to respond. I doubt I've heard the last of it. :p

  5. Hi Lois,

True, no one here has turned butt ugly and attacked other posters which is nice since Project Runway was a fun show and I know an escape for me.

I don't know I just saw some inside stuff i didn't care for, but I guess that's true in any Reality show.

I did enjoy the show and really liked seeing Kayne (my fav contestant) and some of the other contestants in the audience last night at the Finale.

I hope you guys will keep us posted on what this season's contestants do after the show. I believe they are all talented and hope after the national exposure, this show will help boost their careers both at home and maybe nationally.

It would be cool to see some of their designs in a Target, Walmart or Macy's. :p

  6. I was so disappointed. He deserved to be the first of the four Auf'd.

I agree Michael did seem to lose his "MoJo," but no, I think Laura should have been first to be off'ed now that I think about it. Michael won 2 contests... how many did Laura win?

LOL, scratch that, her Collection was better than Michaels. Hahaha

  7. This is my 1st season being a “PR” addict and I have learned some things about the show. I do know everyone here has their own opinions and I hope you can respect my honest one:

I think it was Lois that mentioned before this but I do think that they knew beforehand who they wanted to win the contest. I think Jeffrey won because he has performed well through out the competition, but not because his Final Collection was better. Which leads me to disappointment as I was hoping at the final Finale they all had a even chance to win.

Speaking of Jeffrey, I'm glad he was not found guilty of getting help, although I thought he was acting and looking guilty and in a comical kind of way now with everything in perspective. But sometimes things are not what they seem. LOL, I think Laura exposing it probably did not soften the judges towards her. He was the first to present his collect then Uli, his friend in need. (Maybe a coinsidence). I find I really like Uli's spirit and good heart. I had thought her designs predictable but she had a remarkable collection comparatively. I absolutely loved her swim suit and the way the model WORKED it on the runway removing the cover!

I honestly thought Uli’s Collection was best. It was fresh, expressive and the type of clothes the average woman would want and would actually wear. I felt bad for her because if the Finale was really about the designers finale Collection SHE SHOULD HAVE WON! But it seems like it is about their designs from start to finish. Oh well, I guess I can understand that but I still think it puts you at a disadvantage if you “HIT IT” in your Collection line. You still are screwed if you have not delivered consistently in each or the majority of the prior PR competitions.

I was not wowed by Michael's Collection. My gut first reaction to him when he came out was; you’re a designer, why didn’t you design something for yourself to wear. (I know other designers did not dress the part either but for some reason I was disappointed in his look, too “off the street” for the Finale and him IMHO, to me.) I think Laura definitely has the edge on being sure she looks the part at each junction. Sorta like when I go to get my hair done, I notice if my hairdresser herself has her hair “hitting and holdin!” Black folks lingo ya’ll. -LOL Speaking of that…. Why was the “BLACK” contestant the first to be cut and slashed in the Finale! Ok, I’m kidding, well sorta. Think what you want.

Laura’s collection I think is too much her and not enough of main stream America and what the average woman would want to wear. I mean as elegant as her clothes are, they are knotches above what most women would feel comfortable in wearing, maybe even on Formal Night on a cruise (hehehe). But definitely what the “Vogue,” Parisian type would wear.

I don’t know if I will be sucked up in next Season after personally feeling that they did not give the contestants a even chance to win in the Finale. This is MY OPINION, so please don’t bother to personally attack it or dissect it.

  8. Michael Michael Michael

Yes, he's young and less experienced but I'm still with him.

BUT, If he doesn't make it I would vote for Laura because she's polished and seems to be business savvy. LOL, ok, maybe that doesn't have much to do with designing, but that's my second choice right now.

Jeffrey is talented I'll give him that but still not my choice.

  9. Uli even said that it wasn't so perfect.

We shall see! I have to admit that Jeffrey has grown on me. Were it not for the unfortunate "mother" incident, I think he'd be much better liked!

Yep, Uli did point that out. You know sometimes it seems that so much is covered in the show you wonder if they were coached. :p

I definately agree about the Mother thing. Jeffrey's clothes are interesting and if he's not disqualified, we will see what happens. He and Laura makes the show more interesting now that the others are gone.

Cruisemom42, what's the inside street buzz in ATL on Michael?

  10. For the third straight week I fell asleep during PR. Looking forward to the re-run, which I'm sure will run over and over and over until next week. I HATE secrets so keep posting!
LOL, Terri you're gonna have to change your User name to the Disney character "Sleepy." (Hey I may have to start a "Snow White and Seven Dwarfs" off topic thread.)

I probably stay up way too late to be healthy. ;)

  11. Good morning,

The concept of live television and keeping the viewers watching.

Well, they must have found something because they had

a "clip" of next week at the end of last night's show....Tim told

the 4 of them something and you could see Jeffrey crying in

    Uli's arms.......

So for television they made up all the dramatics.....and he

    did make it anyway?

    Why am I not surprised?

"It's all a bunch of "false/editing" to give more dramatics...

    Just sayin'"

His crying could go either way: he was relieved he was found innocent, or he was ashamed and devastated that he was found guilty and knows he's out now.

I'm just a little concerned that he had NOTHING to do and all the other contestants were working like "working ants" trying to finish up. He was completely finished, which lends credibility to what Laura said. Also, remember they said he had said he was busy working on his personal line too while he was completing his collection.

So I don't know about Jeffrey. A part of me wants it to be true because I don't really like him, but him breaking down crying lends much to the imagination.

    We will see next week.
