  1. Was wavelength the house band on the Emerald? Love this band and hope they are on in January.

Hi Lloyd, I realize this post is nearly a year old but wanted to add Wavelength were on the Star all summer and are now on the Grand Princess until Dec. 8th/16. If you're interested in finding out where they're going next, you can find them on Facebook under WavelengthRoxx.

  2. Hello all,

I've read through a few pages of posts and I haven't found anyone who has spoken of either taxi fares from MCO to Port Canaveral OR cruise ship shuttles. Does anyone know if RCI offeres an airport to pier shuttle like other ports? I don't want to rent a car (even though that's what everyone seems to recommend). I'm travelling alone and just want to get on something to take me to the pier. Any suggestions on shuttles or taxi's? THANKS!!!

  3. Well rumor has it Wavelength will be joining the NCL Pearl at the end of April and doing Alaska all summer. Seems they're having a hard time getting anything out of Princess for some reason!?!? Who ELSE does a LIVE ROCK SHOW on a ship? Sheesh...

  4. Hey everyone,

Just off the Sapphire, back home in Vancouver and Wavelength were AWESOME!!! The cruise itself had an "older" crowd on board so unfortunately the lounges weren't nearly as full as they had been on previous cruises, as I was told by the guys. Unfortunately, Rich was out for a few days with laryngitis/bad sore throat so Chris & Phil stepped up and kept the nights rolling. They were lucky to get half full lounges which was a shame but not only did I get to see their Rock Show for the first time, I got to see it twice! They played for the crew the night before (I have a bit of an "in" ;)) so got to see that as well. Lots of fun! Rich was able to start singing again about Wed. or Thurs. night and by the concert last night they were pretty much going full speed ahead. Was great to see them again, they're looking tighter and tighter. Oh and they all talked about the Arizona/Princess girls who cruised prior. Big hello's out to all of you! :)

  5. My first cruise was on Nordic Prince. It was in August 1994 to Alaska. I was 22 years old and I went with my mom, dad, and sister. It was tons of fun and I have wanted to go back to Alaska ever since. Have not made it yet. Maybe a 15 year wedding anniversary present in about 5 years?

That's funny, I was working the Purser's Desk in Aug.1994, if you remember a BIG haired, blond girl at the desk, that was me!!! :) Granted it was 14 years ago but it is AMAZING the people who remember you years later on ships. I'd highly recommend re-visiting Alaska although you'll notice a HUGE change from '94 with the inundation of jewelry stores everywhere... I guess that can be said for many ports of call now. Sad...

  6. Well, I do know they're home for Christmas this year, their first in four years and they're not sure where they may go next. (I know Exotique is also onboard with them right now.) As for who replaces them, I'm not sure.

Perhaps someone who's cruising on the Ruby right now could ask them? (hint hint) :D

  7. Great Marge, thanks!

The band has now done three theatre shows, I sure hope someone will come on and tell us more about them! They've posted some photos from their first concert on their MySpace website. Looks pretty awesome I must say.

I will be posting as soon as my laptop returns from being repaired. Im on my old desktop that freezes up alot so its useless to even try.

Ill post back on here when Ive uploaded the photos. It could take a week before I get my laptop back.

My friend that was on the cruise with me also has a nice shot of herself and the band. Ill get her memory card and upload that as well. She took some photos of me singing with them too. I had such a good time.

If you live in NYC or vicinity you can come and see me with my band. We play out every single weekend.

Hi Marge, just wondering if you were able to upload any photos yet?

  9. Where are these pictures? I couldn't find them.

I found them in their photo album titled 'tagged photos'. Someone tagged them during their concert, looks so cool.

BTW, I think you have to be their MySpace 'friend' to view their photos.

  10. I see on their website that someone tagged them in a photo from their first theatre show performance. It looks AWESOME! Quite a step up from the Explorer's Lounge stage. I understand they're doing another show this cruise so maybe this weekend someone will tell us about it and/or have some pictures to show. Hope so!

  11. Judyjay, I saw that too, on their website. I hope someone from last cruise posts on here to tell us how it was! What I understand was that they wanted to do the show on the last night of the cruise 'just in case' it didn't go over too well or something but hopefully they ROCKED and proved to Princess they can do it. Look forward to someone telling us about it!!!

  12. Hey Bakermania-

... was wondering if you knew a Magdalena Scandolowski (spelling)- a waitress when I knew her from Grandeur in 1998 and one other ship I was on....can't remember which on. She is from Poland, dark long hair, blue eyes, in her mid 20's at the time. She was a head waitress when I knew her. She gave me her contact info. as I was going to travel to her home town in Poland, but have since lost that information. Do you know her or how I might be able to find out if she is still with RCCL. Thanks for the help and look foward to your reply..

Sorry I'm afraid I don't know her and have no idea how you'd go about finding out if she's still with the company apart from calling head office, although I'm not sure they'd give that info. out to a stranger on the phone? If you're on facebook you could search the multiple Royal Caribbean sites and post on their walls to see if anyone knows her. Or, see if there is a Polish RCI group but Facebook's probably the way to go. There are hundreds if not thousands of old & current employees on there now. Good luck! ;)

  13. Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any other fans of the band Wavelength, currently on the Caribbean Princess, out there? I was on the July 10th sailing and was SO impressed by them! I was too chicken  to get up and sing during 'So you wanna be a rock star' but it sure looked like fun. These guys are AWESOME, and are unlike any other band sailing that I've ever seen. They're not there just to play background music, they really rock out and get things going.

Just wanted to send props out to them and see if anyone else has seen them/met them/ sang with them?

  14. I worked on the Nordic Prince in the summer of 1994 at the Purser's Desk. She was my second ship with RCCL, the first being Majesty. What a difference! She seemed so small & dumpy and not nearly as impressive as the Majesty had. Yet almost immediately a sense of 'togetherness' and family was felt. Everyone knew everyone else and worked so well together. All dept's mingled unlike today where it is all very segregated by rank, dept. and unfortunately simply size. Out of all my years working on cruise ships, the NP by far was my favourite!
