  1. We discovered on Meraviglia last year that they had a room to check your carry on bag near the theatre, so that you didn't have lug it around until you could go to your room. On Divina it was on the outside deck just before the buffet. We are sailing on Magnifica soon and were wondering if they offer this as well on this ship. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

  3. Hi all. Was wondering if anyone has sailed the 8 night Mariner of the Seas to Bermuda sailing recently and if they can recall what night the "Mediterranean" menu was served in the MDR. I noticed that this menu was nearly identical to the "Bon Boyage" menu as well. Frankly the offerings are not to our liking and prefer to book an alternative dinner in Chops Grille that evening. We are just trying to nail down which night this menu will be used so that we are not shut out of our preferred dining time at Chops Grille.

Also, does anyone recall what nights would be Formal Nights as well?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Around 5pm....I remember it was our pre-dinner snack.

Well I stand corrected. I know a lot of people love sushi. And then again I know a lot of people like it as an appetizer. So pre-dinner would be perfect demand time for that.

Hmmm.....last month on the Elation there were 10 orders ahead of us.  They gave us a 30 minute wait.

Was that at dinner? During lunch hours I have never seen anybody at the sushi station. But then again we never go to the buffet for dinner.

Disney - dress up optional too! They don’t even try to put on airs about cruise elegant or formal nights. The only place you have to dress up is their speciality restaurants.

It was more $ than a Carnival cruise - yes. But not all the money in the world. But I never smelled pot, never saw a fight, there was never even a line at guest services because there was nothing to complain about! No bacon police, I didn’t have to sign out towels (they were just laying on loungers for anybody to use!). No chair hogs - considerate fellow guests! I could not go on 5 Disney cruises a year but I will definitely cruise them more than Carnival moving forward!

    Each to their own!

Funny what a higher price point can accomplish.......on many levels.

Having visually experienced the 'food abuse' of excessive amounts of bacon and of other foods, I am inclined to agree with Carnival's move to take control. If you wish to place blame on someone, that should be laid upon those that feel entitled to take more then needed, thus creating this economizing measure.

I've walked past diners in the buffet area with plates of food laid out like their own personal buffet then get up and walk away without finishing what they've taken. Such waste! I look upon that as a disrespectful attitude.

The idea of these ship buffets is that you CAN return to reload your plate anew if you wish to have more. 'Take all you WISH but eat all you TAKE".

Look for more food economizing if food abuse cruisers cannot control themselves, IMO.

I agree with you 100% on food waste. I think we have all seen it. Especially on Lido.

However, I can sympathize with those that feel that they are being punished (by a lot of "changes") for the actions of the "bad actors". This leaves a bad taste in some loyal customers mouths (no pun intended).

I thought that's the situation because there was a sushi walk up counter  (across from the layer cake counter beside the Ledo deck buffet) on the Miracle. Funny thing is, they never seemed to be very busy (IMO). We (there were three adults) were always sitting across from the stand in that area during either lunch or dinner seven of the 10 day cruise. Poor guy was so bored, he finally starting reading a newspaper.. Several of his shipmate would occasionally walk by and stop and make small talk. But at least the food item's there for those who wanna grab and dash sushi on the run.

Those sushi stations on Lido on the older ships are just wasted space. Never seen anyone ordering there ever.

I just got off a cruise last week where there were peel and eat shrimp and crab legs on the lunch buffet every day. Fully self serve. And bacon every morning - in abundance. They served prime rib for lunch on embarkation day for crying out loud. There is life out from under the Whale tail…

Do tell.....what line serves these long lost delicacies?

I was skeptical when I first read this because I assumed nothing would be enforced. I was wrong. I just got off Radiance last Friday. One day while out by the pool DJ Scratchy (love the name!) was DJ'ing and everyone was dancing. Right in the middle of the song he turns off the music and looks to his right and says "someone over there is smoking. I can smell it. Security will be called. There is a $500 fine". Then he turned the music back up. I was shocked. Didn't hear or see anything else so I guess the person stopped. Or left.

DJ Snitchy on the case! Hopefully, since he's doubling on Security now, they taught him how to break up a fight in the dance club at 2 am when he's laying down the jams!

  11. Sailing Spirit soon. Thanks for the review, just made me even more psyched. We love St Kitts but the "beaches" there leave a lot to be desired. The fort there is amazing with the views high above the hilltop.

How were the lines to get a drink? Heard that long lines were experienced recently. Particularly on Lido. Hope this was an aberration and not the new norm.
