  1. For info:

I applied to Princess UK by email ( benefits@princesscruises.co.uk ) three days ago and, today, received emailed confirmation that the obc had been been applied to my booking - 72 days out from my Sky Princess Norway cruise ex Southampton - and I can confirm that it appears in my online account.

    Fast and efficient service IMHO.

The FCC has now been added to our accounts with no intervention from us.

Credited 7 weeks after receiving the onboard notification of our entitlement.

My FCC has now disappeared from my account!

    OH's is still there.

    Hey ho...

  3. Below are links to screenshots of some of the bar prices on Sky Princess from June 2022.

Each bar has a QR code on its tables which takes you to a web page with the price list - I have no idea how often these may be updated.

Some of the screenshots are long and thin and you may have to zoom and pan .

Alfredo's Pizzeria   (drinks prices are about half way down)

    Bellini's

    Crown Grill Bar

Good Spirits At Sea   (at the time of sailing, this bar did not have post mixers - only cans, useful if you are on a drinks package and prefer your soda from a can)

    Princess Live

    Retreat Pool Bar

    Sea View Bar

    Take Five Lounge

Vines Wine Bar   (didn't seem to stock many of the wines listed)

    Vista Lounge

    Wake View Bar

    World Fresh Marketplace

  5. Sorry if this has been asked before.

On a recent Sky Princess cruise my oh was quarantined for 72h.  She received a letter after she was released outlying the FCC we were each entitled too.

It is now 3 weeks since the end of our cruise and the FCC is yet to appear on our Princess accounts.

Does anyone have any experience of how long it usually takes Princess to assign FCC in these circumstances?

    TIA for any info

  6. Sky Princess, Gravdal, Lofoten Islands, Norway, day 10 of 14 nights...

Masks now compulsory inside, except when sitting to eat or drink, and outside in 'large' (number unspecified) groups.

Not surprisingly, rules change on board not just pre-departure.

Covid possibly propagated more because of the large number of passengers inside on this cruise to the cold climes of the Arctic Circle.

Also, despite recommendations, until a couple of days ago, only a small minority of passengers were wearing masks in for example lifts and the theatre.

  7. In case anyone from Princess monitors this forum…what is the reasoning for imposing European Union Healthy Gateways Guidelines for cruises ex UK, not a member of the EU, to Norway, also not a member of the EU and a country without any COVID related entry requirements?

If it has been imposed by corporate insurance requirements then why not be upfront and say so?

Changing COVID boarding requirements at the last minute for upcoming cruises is even more galling when Princess hide behind EU regulations/guidelines that don’t necessarily apply in the UK an other non EU countries.

Agreed. Since UK, Norway, and Iceland are not members of the EU, I would expect three days would be good. However, my Travel Summary on the website still shows one day.

Since we're leaving the US on July 19 for our July 22 cruise, I won't be able to get the test done in the US even if it's three days. We land at LHR on July 20 and spending two nights in Southampton. I'll see about getting the test done on July 21 at the local Boots or Lloyds. Haven't made an appt yet. Figured I'd wait until June to see if anything changes.

DAM-health has £24.49 certificated antigen tests performed by a clinicin. There is a branch in Southampton.

It's the EU that's requiring the one-day before test. If you are sailing from UK without any stops in an EU port, perhaps they won't require the one-day test. Here's the excerpt from the EU Princess page:

We are sailing on Enchanted Princess out of Southampton on July 22, 2022 to Norway and Iceland. Even though the UK sailing page shows what you posted, if I go to the Cruise Personalizer, this is what it says at the bottom of the Travel Summary (I added the highlighting):

You may want to check your Travel Summary and see what it says. Since this is going to potentially cause problems, I'm confident Princess will have testing available at the port.

    Good luck,

    Kevin

Twelve hours ago on my Travel Itinerary in the Important Notices | Notifications section the wording was identical to that quoted by @KML246.

    Now it reads:

"..- produce acceptable proof of a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken before of embarkation..."

Which, although grammatically incorrect, may mean that for me as an "up to date" guest travelling ex Southampton, UK, to Norway (which is not a member of the EU) an antigen test taken within 3 days of embarkation should be acceptable. 🤞

The short URL https://*****/pcl_uktest takes you to the page indicating within 3 days for “up to date” guests!!

  11. Last time I sailed with P&O (three years ago), early on in the cruise there was limited 'sale' of alcohol (selected bottles of spirits) that could be taken back to the cabin.

Can anyone who's been on a recent cruise confirm whether or not they still do this?

If so are the prices still reasonable?

If they are then it will not be worth packing any booze for my up and coming fly-cruise on Oceana.

  12. I am, to quote rarin2go, a 'ghastly Brit' and have just returned from this cruise.

My experience has been a little different to that of other contributors.

The whole trip was 'Work In Progress' - finishing work that should have been completed during dry dock.

Photographs earlier in the thread show:

New artwork in a suite along with a pile of pictures still to be hung. In some suites this was not completed until several days into the cruise. Other fixtures and fittings were still being completed in the refurbished suites several days later.

New double loungers on the pool deck - these were loaded and installed I think on day 3 in Civitavecchia with staff being seconded from their regular duties to unpack them. The new furniture outside the Horizon lounge was also installed at this time.

Painting and decorating (not just regular maiintenace) was still continuing inside and outside throughout the cruise.

We were not in one of the fully refurbished suites but did have a new TV still with some of its packaging attached and with its regular remote control (with seperate batteries not yet fitted as a screw driver was needed to open battery compartment). Steward did immediately supply the correct remote needed for the interactive TV.

While on the subject of the TV, the Navigation channel was not available at all. Some other channels were wrongly labeled, corrected on about Day 5.

We had new carpet. There was carpet glue on the footstool and settee. The carpet was coming away from the balcony threshold causing a trip hazard. Steward cleaned the glue when asked but this should have been done as a matter of routine before we boarded. Carpetwasmade safe by maintenance team.

The lavatory seat was badly stained. Steward tried but failed to remedy this. Seat was replaced but only after a written complaint.

One of our suit cases was not delivered until 11:15 pm and only after three phone calls to reception.

The farcical embarkation was glossed over by other posters. Lines were over two hours long at the worst point. The first coaches to arrive were turned away from the dock and had to return later.

We arrived at 5:30pm. Joined the line up the gangway and 20 minutes later were ushered into the packed Mariner loungue which was a holding area before the theatre being used as the main waiting room. We made the most of this and had champagne and nibbles until the theatre lines finally cleared at about 7:30pm. We entered our suite about 7:45pm.

We are experienced cruisers and know things can go wrong. I am sure Regent were mortified by this embarkation procedure and I know it is not a regular occurence but it does indicate that the ship was not ready to sail after the dry dock.

Some of these experiences were just minor niggles but nevertheless not what I expect from a 6 star line.

However we put all this behind us and had a most enjoyable cruise meeting many 'unghastly' Americans, Brits an other nationalities.

The food was excellent and the staff delightful and attentive.
