  1. Nachi Cocum is my favorite place to go to the beach. It is beautiful, quiet, peaceful and the beach is soft and lovely. Food comes with it as well as drinks. I didn't love paradise beach at all. I think Nachi is a huge step up.

  2. Honduras is one place I would not travel to on a land based trip, but that is JMHO. It has the highest murder ratio in the Caribbean, but to each their own.

Roatan was one of the islands I want to go back to for a land vacation. Beautiful, very lush, the water is so clear it is just that: clear!!! Great people, food...Ahhhhh someday!

  3. This is probably a silly question, but if we go to the buffet in the morning, get our breakfast to take it to our room to eat on our balcony (we're just one deck below), will anyone stop us with plates, cups, etc? I'd rather do that than do the continental room-service.

No, you will be fine. I have done that and no issues. Enjoy!!

  4. Thank you all for you thoughtful responses. I definitely feel more at ease. I know regardless I would be fine as I love cruising and have loved all the ships I have been on thus far but this is a first for Hubs. I am sure he will love it just as much as I do or divorce may be in order lol :'):'):'):p

  5. It has been awhile since I have cruised and this will be my husbands first cruise. I want it to be a great time for him as I want to make sure he will want to cruise in the future. When I booked the dream I forgot how long ago it was built and kept thinking it is a newer ship. With that said, I have not seen much about the dream as of late. Not many reviews or questions. Should I look at another ship? Or is the dream still a good ship?

    Thank you in advance :D

  6. " I don't want to be a problem for the wait staff." seriously? they work for you

One of “those” eekk. They work hard and it’s nice of the OP to inquire.

I’m on vacation so if I think they are really busy I just take it as it comes. I also always do anytime dining.

  7. Sounds like the original Cuban had salami on it:

The sandwich is made with ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and salami[3] on Cuban bread.[2] The later variation of the sandwich that emerged in Miami excludes salami.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_sandwich

Not saying this is wrong however never take Wikipedia as a reliable source.

I watched a show about the Cuban in Tampa and I was shocked it has salami on as I’d never eaten it that way. I prefer Miami style, salami does not belong on a Cuban lol.

I never ate at the deli often however I will try their version of the Cuban, that is sadly not pressed. At least I’m aware so it won’t be a shock [emoji4]

  8. I can agree with that. Now if people would at least check the first few pages for a thread they're thinking about creating before they create it. For instance, in the last week or two, I lost count of the threads asking for advice for new cruisers. There's probably a half dozen on the first five pages of the Carnival boards alone. I think we should at least let a thread (of the same topic) run for a while rather than keep creating new ones. If anything, it would help anyone looking for that kind of info. to find it better. When it's spread out over many threads, things are missed, then gives birth to a new thread. It's a vicious cycle. :D

A new one was already created instead of adding to this one or the real old one. A lot still rings true and you can see the date that the thread was started.

I see that you can order steak in the dining room for an up charge. Has anyone done this? I can't imagine the quality of the steak would be as good as in the steakhouse??

  9. If you enjoy the MDR food, then NO..the steakhouse isn't worth it for you. If you're not impressed with the MDR offerings, then the Steakhouse might thrill you.

I really enjoy the MDR food for sure however I believe the Steakhouse is more than worth it. The food is better and the setting is very nice. For the price you get a perfectly cooked meal with great service. Also, the setting, the relaxation, how quiet it is....ahhhhhh... worth every penny even if you like the food in the MDR.

  10. Power strips are fine as long as they don’t have surge protection. This is why we don’t need five year old threads bumped. I only read the first page or two of this one and there’s a lot of outdated info.

You gave some good information. Thank you. I did not bump it for the sake of old information but instead I thought we could use some fresh new ones. Thankfully, there have been contributions so bumpity bump bump bump :)

One question I have is that I go on the Dream next year. I always took showers in the Gym as they are much bigger with great water pressure. Is the access to the gym and shower still free? Or do we have to pay?

  11. Since the Cheers program has raised their rate to $49.95/person/day, we are back to ordering Bon Voyage liquor which will be in our stateroom when we embark. My DH and I will bring our dozen less than 20 oz bottles/cans of mixer per person in our carry on and set up our bar with ice and Bubba cups. We had a great time last cruise with Cheers but I'm not willing to pay $900 for something I would have paid $600 for a couple weeks ago for the two of us.

You can order Bon Voyage on the Carnival website.

Anyone have any new updated secrets? I remember this thread gave me a wealth of information in the past. I cruise next year and would love to hear new secrets.

  12. You are the one who bragged about how often you look. Then you claim not once, not one single time have you seen Royal cheaper? That's laughable. I see why others jumped on you for making such a ridiculous claim or proving that you are incompetent at booking. Which one is it?

I mean, just for the sake of this post I did a mock booking for an October cruise and found an Oasis sailing for hundreds less than Glory for a balcony room, same weekend, both eastern. Royal is often lower than Carnival, and yes, Carnival is more often lower than Royal. But it's often enough that anyone actually looking semi-often would find Royal sailings during a sale that are cheaper than Carnival.

You getting in on it too. Man too much time on ones hands lol. I go specific times of the year. I don’t just grab a cruise because it’s cheaper that time of year. This is very funny however. Be blessed today [emoji12]

  13. Uhmm YOU said: "In all of my years of cruising I have NEVER found Royal to be cheaper than Carnival and I look all of the time. . It is NOT cheaper than carnival lol. Not even close.

You look all the time and are adamant its not cheaper than Carnival. No need to spin it. If you're not finding cheaper rates on Royal some of the time then for sure your researching skills are not good....but hey "you look all the time"!!

    #Blinders

Lol. This is simply laughable at this point. I’ll say it one more time then I’ll be moving right along. Never, have I ever found a RCL cruise cheaper than carnival. I know lots of others who say the same. Have a lovely evening. [emoji4]

  14. You don't know what you are talking about. Go look at November 2019. Compare Horizon to Symphony. I realize Horizon is a 6 or 8 day but if you look at prices and pay attention you will see Horizon is MORE!!! Balcony to Balcony I compared. Carnival is $52 dollars more a day.

You're travel investigative skills are not good. I can find cheaper Royal rates all over the place. Who is laughing now??? HAHA LOL

You just learned Carnival can be MORE so add that you your Carnival forum I've learned something experience.

I’m taking about the fact that I have never seen RCL cheaper for ANY cruises I have searched for. Not once!! Don’t worry about my researching skills they are just fine.

I’ll go on RCL forum for any information I need on them.

  15. Thanks for the review! Agree Royal is not always more. I often find prices just as good or better. Oasis class is an awesome experience, highly recommended over Vista class.

In all of my years of cruising I have NEVER found Royal to be cheaper than Carnival and I look all of the time. . It is NOT cheaper than carnival lol. Not even close.

Isn't this a Carnival Forum where we learn about Carnival?
