  1. In Texas you don't pay for cheers for the first day, it kicks in at 6am the following morning.

    I have seen them load a lot of liquor, wrapped in black plastic that says "Texas Liquor". Some weird laws, I have heard its due to the unlimited drinks for a fixed price.

    I cannot find the reference now but there is a tax the cruise lines can pay to allow the unlimited drink package while in Texas waters. CCL does not pay the extortion fee from TABC (my own opinion of TABC) it but RCCL does.

  2. Soapbxking - this will be his first cruise and I know he's going to have an amazing time. The dart board will be the cherry on top. :p

    If he throws steel tip darts he will be disappointed, it's the electronic dartboard with plastic tips.

  3. You need to figure in the 15% gratuity, it is not reflected in the pricing or itemized receipt but is included in the total amount.

    Pre-purchased online for Breeze, $49.95 for 6 days + gratuity for 2 people was $689.32

    $49.95 x 6 = $299.70

    15% = $44.96

    Total = $344.66 per person

  4. On the Breeze in January a bartender told me you MUST ask to be charged for a drink before you have the 15th charged to your Cheers account. The system will not allow them to ring up a drink after the 15th Cheers entry is recorded. We bought pitchers of beer before reaching the limit a few days.

  5. Sailed Jan 8-16 (+1 day fog delay)

    We were asked if we wanted either time or both for service. Chose AM. Clemente was awesome and seemed to always be in the hallway calling me when I turned the wrong direction headed to my cabin 98% of the time

    Debark was different than normal due to fog delayed arrival, self assist seemed really disorganized in the Theater. Then a medical offload delayed self-assist by an hour. All shuttles were there because of the +1 day fog delay, only ship in port at that point.

  6. I am also enjoying your review. Thank you for taking the time to write it. I like that idea of giving my oldest a limit for the week and letting him spend it how he wants.

    I think that is one of the coolest things for a kid to do on a vacation, especially in an environment like a cruise ship. I miss having our kids be that excited, now they just drink with me... :D

  7. Was on the Breeze 1/8/17 and the smoke was pretty thick then. The entire seating area of the casino had smokers in it.

    The smoking area on deck 11 is most of the starboard side (aft to pool area) and during the Dallas playoff game they just smoked everywhere on deck 11 both sides. The even let people smoke during refueling on our extra fog induced "Sea Day" in port. It's the most lax I have ever seen the crew on smoking outside smoking areas.

  8. Personally don't care what folks wear, just know that some folks must wear something! :eek:

    As for the crabcakes, a few years ago on the Magic I dragged the DW up to the Lido from the casino to get food in her whiel drinking. She loves crabcakes but she took one bite of this one and stuck her tongue out, grabbed the entire pile and slammed it on the plate exclaiming "WTH did they do to this crabcake!" She has never had them since...
