  1. So, this is an odd question. We frequent wdw, but never on a Disney cruise :). In the parks, you buy stuff in the gift shops, they have "spend 50$ get a (insert random item here). Do they do the same on the ship? Specifically fleece blankets :) I have several from our trips there and Disney Paris, and would love to have one from the cruise. Tia!

  2. I did a three day cruise over Easter with just my husband and myself and we had a great time. I chose Disney over RCCL as I also wasn't looking into a three day party cruise which I know that can be the case with other cruiselines three day cruises. We had plenty to do. Adult only activities are listed in the Navigator (by the way it is set up differently than Carnival's Fun Times so it may take some getting used to) and they are also listed on the app, which I definitely recommend you download before going. There is no casino which I prefer, but not sure if that is important to you or not. However, there are areas for adults and I think Disney does a good job with keeping it that way. If Castaway Cay is one of your stops, I highly recommend you go to Serenity Bay, the adults only beach. When we were there, it was not crowded. It was so peaceful and had its own barbecue. This was the most relaxation I have experienced on any of the cruiselines private islands. If given the opportunity to do another three day Disney cruise, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Have a great time on your cruise!

Thank you so much for the positive response to a 3 day cruise. While I would LOVE a longer cruise, the only available time for us to try Disney is either right before or right after Thankgsgiving. The 4 days cruise falls over thanksgiving. I am sorry, but one night isn't worth 2k. I am having a hard enough time swallowing the huge price jump between DCL and RCCL. We have cruised several times on all other lines, usually atleast a week, But my love for all things Disney is prevailing. In reading so many peoples comments about how they would never do a 3 days cruise, I was really getting down! So Thanks!:)

  3. Is this true??? Could it be???

Now I don't care if the pools are saltwater, however, I would LOVE for them to be WARM! It is always to darn cold to get into the pool! (unless you are under 16, kids seem to have that ability to swim in the artic waters!)

My hope is, if they are fresh, maybe they will be warm, but not too chemically treated...

Either way, I will find out in a week!!!:D:D:D

  4. I lost my Best friend to cancer a few years ago. She had just turned 40, never smoked, rarely drank, and found out she had cancer 2 months prior to her passing. She had two teenage kids.

I spent a lot of time before she passed, wondering why, and how something like this could happen to her. She lived "right" she was a good person, etc..

The day before her she died, as I laid in her bed and we reminisced about our crazy life together, she said the best words I could hear.

She said " I worked hard all of my life, I worried about bills, and my kids, and my husband (he's a firefighter). I worried what would happen to them as they grew, or went to work, when they got in a car, when they slept. All that got me was wasted hours of sadness, and less time to enjoy WITH them."

She then pushed me to keep my vacation plans (we had a cruise booked and sailing 5 days after her passing, that had been booked and payed for almost a year) I felt awful going through with our plans. My husband offered to cancel and just lose our $$. In the end, she got through to me.

We had a wonderful vacation. Was it crazy, or amazing? no. BUT, it was healing for all of us. The saltwater washed our tears away, and rejuvenated my soul. With every wave, my fears of the unknown, were less and less. By the end of the week, I knew it was the right choice. My family needed to know that this wouldn't define us. That her passing would only make us grab life by the horns and take charge. I will always have bills, I will always have fears, (I am a trauma nurse, and see the WHAT IFs ALOT) But, I refuse to let this ruin my daily life.

You will find your strength and your way through this awful cancer scare. Just try to take it smile by smile and make positive memories with your family. I remember every vacation I took with my best friend, I don't remember the fear I felt leading up to her death. Just our laughter.

BTW, We leave on the 19th,on the Sunshine! so I will be praying while I am leaving for my vacation, that you will be enjoying yours as well!

  5. I have a question. Our kids will be in their own room as well, directly across the hall, (Ages almost 10 and 14) . I thought each room would have to have an adult, so I listed it this way on the cards. Will I be able to get cards for my husband and myself that open both doors? I know at some point they will forget their key, on a sea day, and I will be running around to get in. Also, Could we list them alone in their room, and myself and my husband in the other?

    TIA!

    Shan

  6. They have Tervis now??? This makes me so happy :) I use tervis tumblers every day, and have a slight (alright MAJOR) tervis addiction :) :) Lasts forever and has a lifetime warranty! Can't beat that!

Now I will commence collecting those!

As a side note, I have the funnel, clear and pink hurricaines, the cordial glasses, and the soda card glasses. I Love them all, and use them by the pool in the summer! Guests enjoy them and they look great at the tikibar by the pool! Very festive!

  7. My Next Cruise is 8 Days! Woohoo!!! Just made it Phew! That was close.

Not that it would have made a huge difference to my vacation, but it is nice to receive some kind of perk, even if it is watered down drinks, and a sparkly card.

  8. Hey Guys, sorry if this is a question that has beat to death...

Are the menu choices for ATD on the Sunshine, the same at MDR choices?

We have been waitlisted for MDR and don't want to miss out on the great food choices in there! (Not like I have an option at this point...but still)We have never done ATD so I need answers. :)

    TIA,

    Shan
