  1. we did this last Jan. you get on a bus that takes you to old San Juan where you are dropped off and given a time to meet up----your luggage is held and eventually brought to the airport where it is waiting for you when the bus drops you off at the airport---you pick up your bags and proceed into the airport---worked very well

  2. I have just returned two days ago. Bathrooms are a bit dated but in my case didn´t have any issue with plumbing whatsover.

good to hear---if you do not mind how did you find the ship overall--as well as the food

    thanks

  3. St Lucia-----Spencer Ambrose Sugar Beach by speedboat (aka Jalousie Beach)----by heading direct via the speedboat you arrive ahead of the other tours---------agree on Calabasas excellent tour, crew and food

  4. The forts in San Juan are either $7 or $7.50 pp. You can do both forts for the one admission if you save the receipt for the first one and show it at the second fort.

If one person has a senior (62 and up). national parks pass they and up to three others are free---pass is cheap and good for life---this includes the san juan forts

In st martin there is a beach within a short walk from the pier---beaches are free if you plunk down towels and do not rent chairs---many shops and restaurants nearby.

St Kitts is more problematic---I'd make this my splurge port--a tour for 10 would be about 450 from Thenford Grey-----this would include batik factory, brimstone fortress, general island tour and a beach break if desired---any admissions included in tour cost

    hope this helps

  5. How far out do you book with Calabaza before your cruise.....generally speaking?

    :)

Calabaza is my wifes favorite thing to do -----we book for the next year the same day as we book our cruise

  6. Would you recommend scheduling a taxi pick up at the Pan Am pier to the airport day of disembarkation? Or are there plenty of taxis at the pier?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

lots of cabs and vans at pier---a very efficient loading operation

  7. Can you pay the bus fare in $Us or has it got to be in local currency? Can you buy the ticket on the bus or does it have to be purchased beforehand?

pay the driver----they will take US----

  8. Nelsons is at the end of a bus line from St. Johns---bus #17---the bus terminal is a 10 minute walk from the port----it is $3 per person each way-----Nelsons I believe was $8 per person-----the bus stop is right in front of the ticket area at Nelsons

taxi would be quite expensive----we have done this and the people are quite friendly

  9. My wife is vegan and we sail Royal often---the best bet is the windjammer---many nights they have a choose your ingredient stir fry station-----also soy milk is usually available at the drink stations (have to ask)---the main dining room tries real ahrd but unless your at a table for two you can really hold up some other folks dinner

we're actually doing an all vegan cruise this fall---vegan chefs, speakers, toiletries, all vegan buffet and main dining room---also vegan speciality restaurant

    hope this helps

  10. onboard Jewel now in Grenada---we are having some cases---not a major outbreak---extra cleaning on ship daily--handrails, elevator buttons etc.---capt made an announcement yesterday about extra hand washing etc.---has not seemed to be involving a very large group---no real chatter aboard about it

    hope this helps

  11. In Antiqua Scenic tours antiqua does an island tour---which includes a stop at both nelsons boatyard and Shirley heights---cost includes the $8 admission to Nelsons---with no beach break its 33 US----I think 10 more for time at a beach----it was a nice mini bus tour with pick up and drop off at the port

  12. My wife is vegan and we have found that the windjammer provides her best option---there is usually a stir fry or pasta station where she can choose her ingredients and of course a salad bar also many veggies-----at chops she makes up a veggie plate from a selection of sides----soy milk is usually available at the drink station if you ask---for breakfast there is lots of fresh fruit, also usually baked beans, mushrooms, grits, potatoes or oatmeal....we are actually taking an all vegan cruise this fall to Norway

    hope this helps
