  1. Hi,

Thank for all the info, we'll be on the Finnmarken in October and looking forward to the cruise. So far we've booked the North Cape without breakfast as our agent says we have breakfast on the ship, so why do it. Someone posted a pic of seeing the NL recently, did you see some? Hoping for NL sightings when we go. Maybe I'll ask for 2 glasses of water, if they don't return for refills....

    :D

  2. Hi we will be on the MS Finnmarken for the 12 Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen from Oct 22 - Nov 2. This will be our 1st Hurtigruten cruise. We know it'll be cold, and want to see the NL. Our friends did the Nordlys 2 years ago in early october and they saw NL. This will be a new experience for us. We've done the standard cruises, don't need anything fancy, so we booked the basic inside cabin. Hoping that wifi, water will be included. Haven't heard of anybody yet on this schedule.

  3. We are 1st timers on the Hurtigruten lines and excited. We are booked on the Oct 22nd, MS Finnmarken. Would also love to know more about this cruise. Logging in to their website for booked passengers has very little information.

Basic inside cabin as it's only for sleep and we are early risers.

Would love to know more about excursions. Wanna do the Breakfast as North Cape, but my agent in Cruise Norway is suggesting to do the one without breakfast. What drinks are included. Agent says that water and coffee are included but how generous are they?

Wifi included??? I read somewhere that you cannot access email if you have aol.

Any and all info would be certainly be appreciated!!

  5. Hi,

15 of us on the 4 day Imagination cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada. It doesn't take much to make me happy...i'm not working and on a cruise ship, great weather on all for 4 days. I miss the table cloths but the food was great. It's the new menu, where you can upgrade to a better steak/food for $20 per person. We were alright with the regular menu. If you want to email the matri'd for dining issues, the email address is immaitred@carnival.com. His name is Klaudio Vukic nickname chubbie. He was very accommodating to us, placing us in 2 tables by the window and close to the spirit dining entrance as we had senior folks with us. All of us had inside cabins on the Riviera deck-no problems with our steward. I asked him for a corkscrew to open our wines and he let us keep it until our cruise ended. saved us corkage fees.

Let me know if you need more info...

  6. Hi,

We cruise on the 28th out of Long Beach for a 4 day cruise. I understand if you are a green card holder, you will just need to bring an add'l picture id such a valid driver's license. what do you need if you are a citizen from another country, and have a valid passport from that country and just visiting the usa and planning to cruise 4 day on the imagination to catalina island, Ensenada, and then back to long beach?

would appreciate any help...tried to call the Mexican consulate number that carnival provides and it's all in Spanish...no English!

  7. Hi,

Loved your review! So looking forward to our September 28th cruise. A

couple of questions. We have 4b inside cabins...do we have a safe and refrigerator in our cabins? Other ships we've been on have them, but this is a older ship. Also I want to get in touch with the dining room to request for a large table for 10 in a certain location. Who would I contact???

    Thanks for any info....:)

  8. Hi,

I didn't do much decorating when we were on the Dream in March. All I had were mardi gras beads, so i just draped them thru the holes on the bottom of the mailbox. We'll be on the Splendor next month and plan to decorate. Does anybody know if the doors are metal? tacky stuff or magnets?

  9. Hi,

Not really a question about the ship, but was wondering if any of the zip lining companies in puerto are accomodating to special needs folks. I have a nephew who has CP and does use a walker will be able to join us if we decided to go or what other things do they offer for him to do. He has done the 'swimming with dolphins' already. Want to do this in Puerto as he might not be able to get off the ship due to tendering in Cabo.

  10. Hi,

We were on the Dream in March 2012 doing the Eastern Carb. Loved ship. Mostly stayed in the Serenity Deck, which was great. I recall seeing box lunches at the bar. Were those for guests who are up at the deck and didn't want to go down to the Lido to get lunch. I went up the bar and there was a sign saying there were chicken salad sanwiches. Do all serenity decks offer this?

  11. Hi,

We'll be on the Splendor the week of Aug 12, 2012. I was just wondering if they have clamshells for 2 on the Serenity Deck like they have on the Dream.

Also, I have a new iphone and still learning things. While cruising I want to be able to listen to my music, update calendar, things that don't require internet access or cost money. do i have to change settings, etc. to make this happen?

As for any games that I accidently play will i be charged the expensive connection fees? And about email, voice messages, texts even though I don't read, receive, but receiving them, am I charged for those?

Or do I have to power down the whole thing?

  12. Hi,

18 or 19 of us for August 12. Not much happening on our roll call so I thought I would ask here.

    1. is there an elevator up the minature golf area? we have someone in a power chair that would love to play golf if he can get up there.

    2. are there clamshells or hamocks in the serenity deck? we were on the dream in 3/2012 and there were. just wondering about the splendor.

    3. also the serentiy deck bar had box lunches you could pick up instead of going to the buffet. is this offered as well?

  13. we're booked on a cruise late april of 2008. thinking about driving to galveston from calif. what's there to see along the way? how long of a drive is it or should we just fly? are they limits of what and how much liquor over each border?

also, i would love to try the zip lines. but i have what my daughter calls - a broken chicken wing - right arm is partially paralyzed (erb's paralysis since birth)...meaning i don't do much with my arm with over the head stuff. it looks like fun but paranoid if i got stuck and had to do hand over hand manuvers (monkey bar stuff) to get to the end.

any info would be most helpful....thanks..
