1. Hello All,

Im sailing on the NOS on May 8 2016.

It will doing a 6 day western Caribbean on April 24 2016. It will be back in port on April 30 2016. So this means there will be 7 days docked.

Does anyone know if this is certain? And what will be doing/adding on?

I would love if they put a kiddy pool area, I know that NOS doesn't have one.

    Thanks

    Danny

The RCI website currently shows an 8-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on 30-Apr-2016 as bookable on NOS. We're also on the 8-May-2016 TA.

  2. Yep, now the prices are in the "ouch but doable" range. We pulled the trigger. :)

    Hi Karen,

As you know we've been looking for this one to be released. When it appeared this morning at a shocking price, we called RCI and inquired about the 30% discount and were told to keep checking. We also pulled the trigger this afternoon once the 30% discount kicked in. :D Looking forward to sailing with you and Pete again. :)

  3. We also received a letter, addressed to my wife. No mention of me, so I guess she will go, and hopefully she will invite me!:D

I thought the letter was a bit vague, especially the statement "You can choose and ship and sailing date, with some exceptions, within twelve months of your milestone recognition."

    What are the exceptions??

    Rick

There's a link referenced in the letter with FAQs about the milestone cruise benefit. It's: RoyalCaribbean.com/PinnacleClubMilestoneRecognition

Q: To which sailings may milestone certificates be applied? s.gif A: Certificates are valid for all sailings and ships - except holiday cruises or ships that have been in service less than 365 days --- with a specific stateroom category and up to a specific amount as published on the certificate depending on your milestone.

There are a total of nine questions with answers. Hope this helps.

  4. Just got a letter in the mail from RCCL,saying we now have a year from when we hit a milestone ,to cruise.........but still have to book within 6 months..

Hi Kathy! We also got the letter in the mail today.

When did you make Pinnacle? I haven't received a letter but only made PC last month, so I haven't received anything yet.

    Carolyn

Our Pinnacle recognition cruise was January 31st. The Pinnacle pins arrived in about six weeks (from New Jersey) and "stratum" arrived about a week later (from Florida).

  5. Turned Pinnacle on a ship where:

Others told me that they received BIG recognition and celebration when they became Pinnacle.

I know many of the staff.

    I have sailed repeatedly.

    I know the Captain.

    I know the Concierge.

    I know the Loyalty Ambassador.

Didn't seem to make any difference.

Sorry Carol, you deserved better! :) We thought our recognition on Serenade, which included a ceremony with officers and photo, a bottle of champagne, and dinner at Chops with a bottle of wine, was very nice.

You, speechless??!!?? Now I'm shocked! :D

  6. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting them yet. But I did forget Amit, who is amazing. On our Hawaii cruise last year, he had arrived in Honolulu from India at midnight, didn't get to sleep until the early morning hours and then had to be on a crew shuttle to the ship at 10:00 am. Yet he was still on duty, ready to help, albeit a little red-eyed.

And we haven't had the pleasure of meeting Amit yet. He sounds like a real trooper! Hopefully one day we will. :)

  7. I'm so happy that this thread is here - thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and advice. We're joining the PC on the Apr 4 Vision sailing and just starting to think about our "free" cruise. I've been given so much misinformation about the rules that I've put this decision on the back burner for a while. At least now I know how to get to the source and get the cruise booked. Happy cruising to everyone!

Contrats Jan and Bruce! Sorry we won't be there to celebrate with you...

  8. Of course somebody can replace him. I have found most of the RCI Concierges to be excellent at their jobs - welcoming, accommodating and helpful, not to mention loads of fun on occasion. As much as I like Juan Diego, I also like Diego, Nizar, Alan (del Fierro), Reyno, Mario....

Totally agree! Don't forget Israel, Jorge, and Mangesh.... All excellent.

    Steve & Mike

  9. Thank you Patti, Rita (and others) for sharing your experiences booking a Pinnacle "free" cruise! Until we read this thread, we were waiting for our certificate to arrive. So today we called C&A and were able to take full advantage of the $1,200 off (each) on an existing reservation. :D

    Steve & Mike

  10. I see that Alan Del Fierro is listed as the concierge for Serenade. I have to admit that I have never had any contact with him. Can anyone give some background?

Just off of the Serenade 07-Feb-2015. Alan was in the CL and was great!

Don't know his background but found him to be an excellent Concierge.

  11. I have to agree with OP - we just got back from the Breakaway in the Haven over Christmas and it was outstanding. Nobody else comes close when you're talking suite perks.

We found the food great in every venue and the entertainment superb.

Doesn't stop us from sailing on Royal, but sure gives us options.

Thanks to the OP for the review. Totally agree with the comments above! We cruised on the Getaway in November in the Haven (with a free beverage package courtesy of a Norwegian promotion). EVERYTHING about the experience was first rate.

Norwegian is currently offering a Freestyle Choice promotion where you get a free dining package, a free beverage package, and $300 onboard credit for suites and Haven bookings. As a result, we booked a cruise on the Escape in the Haven.

We cruise mostly on Royal but find the Norwegian cruise experience to be an excellent and refreshing change.

  12. My most recent observation (two weeks ago) is that Royal is attempting to Carnivalize themselves.

Yes there are perks for Suites guests )and many protest as they longingly gaze at the suite folks (who spent 4 times as much as they did to be on the same ship)..but Royal continues to cut wait staff, increase the ambient temperature of the ship, cut back on food quality, etc...all to attract the Carnival customer ....while, in my humble opinion, dissing the loyal passengers who had become accustomed to "the Royal" treatment.

While I wouldn't phrase it quite the way you did, I totally agree!

Royal Caribbean IS trying to attract a more 'upscale cruiser'--on Azamara and Celebrity--but DEFINITELY NOT on Royal Caribbean. The Royal experience has slowly but steadily declined in our ten years of cruising. Just MHO, your mileage may vary....

    Steve

  13. Thanks for your review , this will probably your only NCL cruise because RCCL is much, much better.

Unlike Marc, who gave us an honest, unbiased review based on taking a cruise on Norwegian, you sound like a typical Royal Caribbean cheerleader.

IMHO, based on personal experience from 46 Royal Caribbean cruises and 5 Norwegian cruises, Norwegian is currently moving up-market and Royal Caribbean is moving down-market. If you haven't taken a Norwegian cruise in the last year or two, you don't know Norwegian. Just off the Getaway a week ago, it reminded me of what Royal Caribbean was like ten years ago.....

  14.
Thank you very much for the tips! We're doing well on that checklist. We've got Legally Blonde reservations for tomorrow evening, and we enjoyed Howl at the Moon last night. That was a lot of fun.

The fireworks were last night and were really nice, too.
Hi Marc,

Glad you enjoyed! We'll second the (above) vote for Sugarcane--the Bacardi Mojitos there were great. Do try the outdoor restaurant seating on the Waterfront (if you like that sort of thing).

Our dinner at Cagney's was the only disappointment of the week--just okay. Ocean Blue was one of our favorite meals (ever) on a cruise ship, Moderno was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed Le Bistro and La Cucina.

Thanks for the review. It's reminding us of our great week on the Getaway. Hope you enjoy Legally Blond.

    Steve & Mike
  15. Hi Marc,

We were on the Getaway last week and had a great time. Just wanted to mention a few of the things we really enjoyed that you may want to do. Try to catch Legally Blond, it's a fun show. Be sure to make it to Howl at the Moon, the piano show (at least once). Dine in La Cucina (or any of the restaurants on the waterfront) in the outside section. We particularly enjoyed dining outdoors at La Cucina, Moderno, and Ocean Blue. Don't miss the fireworks!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise!

  16. sailing Vision in 3 weeks....is a Suite breakfast offered in one of the specialty restaurants ?

if so ~ which specialty restaurant ?

does Vision have a Park Cafe so i can satisfy my fix for a roast beef sandwich ?

thanks in advance for the replies.

Have a great cruise! Please follow up and let us know about the Suite breakfast. We'll be on Vision in November and are hoping for the special 'gold card' breakfast. Thanks.
