    .

this one worked. It is the tourism board. ( they are on our side according to the article)

Wrote to each publication person at the Gazette. Everyone was receptive and understanding except for 2 people (1 was very rude). After that, I wrote to transportation board who was also understanding. You can search them on google. I also wrote to the newspapers and asked them to read the comments under the Gazette and view what was there as folks are very upset.

  2. Hope someone can help direct us....If we have someone driving us and dropping us off at the pier and we have appropriate carry on luggage - (1 each) plus I will have 1 large purse or tote - can we - carry these on at pier 88? What are the steps with dealing with the porters. Do we just bypass them and walk (to where?) What do we look for? Thank you so much.

  3. We sail May 2016! You'll be going before us. I did find a website on a photo, but the rules state you cannot post links or anything like that here. Search on the web for: photos of 11007 Breakaway - and click on some of them on the page. You might be able to find it. The room looks huge for a ocean view. Being it is forward it allows one to see what is coming up. Basically what the bridge can see. Very cool room.

  4. Hi Madeleine, We are on Princess leaving 7/28/07. Yes, it's the same ship and yes, feel free to write for my review. We are excited as it's for our 25th wedding anniversary and for our 50th birthdays! We are traveling with my inlaws, and our 14 year old (5). Staying in Vancouver was an added bonus for all of us. We found a great B&B with friendly and helpful staff on Commercial Drive. It's a 25 min. or so trip from the airport, but then just 5-7 min to the dock from what I was told.

I'd like to find some sort of trip where they pick us up on Commercial drive, and go to the gardens in Victoria and then back to the B&B. I've looked around and due to there being a lot involved (ferry, taxi, etc.) it seems a little steep. Anyone have ideas on this?

    Take care! Georgi

  5. Hello! We are arriving into Vancouver 7/26/07 for 2 nights prior to our cruise on Princess. Has anyone tried walking from Commercial Drive (at Penny's Place) down to the Canada Place Cruise Dock? With luggage is this too far, or is it just better to get a 5 mininute taxi ride?

What should I expect to pay for 5 people + luggage from the YVR Vancouver Airport to Commercial Drive to Penny's place for a Taxi. How much will the taxi be from Commercial Drive to the Canada Place Pier for 5 people and luggage?

Are there any suggestions for a ferry trip/tour to get over the Buschardt (spell?) gardens in Victoria with pick up and return to your hotel in Vancouver? Thanks so much! :)

  6. Hello (I was the start of this thread...LOL!) We are staying at Penny's Place on Commercial Drive in Vancouver mid July. Do you have suggestions for a quality, but least expensive buffet locations to take these big gentleman to a buffet for a 3 or 4:00 meal. They probably will not want to eat dinner after that. They are tall and lean and like to eat good food. We are looking within walking or even a cab distance. The waterfront area would also be a good spot for us. They love buffets! We'll have 2 days prior to our cruise.

Do you have suggestions and possible pricing for that time frame for any of the following Buffets in the area. Chinese, American or Italian.

Do you recommend a good shopping spot to stop on way from Airport to 810 Commercial Drive around 2:30 PM? (simple groceries).

    Thanks so much!

  7. Thanks for replying about Vancouver! We decided to come a few days early (all 5 of us) to spend a few nights over in a B&B. This way we can learn more about the city, than flying in and leaving on the ship! I love reading replies. We'll be traveling with 2 inlaws and our 14 year old and us so if there are any suggestions for simple enjoyment of the city for the week of July 23rd this summer, please let me know!

Thanks and have a great summer!

  8. :) All replies will be so appreciated. There will be 5 of us or 3 of us depending on if inlaws travel with us or not. We will be taking the Princess Sapphire cruise to Alaska (and doing our own 2 weeks on land after). We would love a bunch of suggestions for nearby reasonable hotels (nothing fancy, but a nice free buffet breakfast arrangement is a huge plus).

We are traveling with our soon to be 14 year old son. We are looking for something close to YVR and the port Princess uses to have a possible free shuttle for pick up from the airport and to then get us to the ship dock the next day if such a thing exisits. We have no idea on what to expect. Please let us know what you might suggest, and if the hotel has the free buffet and shuttle. We do not need anything fancy as it's a place to relax and maybe go out for a stroll or a possible trolly ride while doing some "close to home" exploring. We like family style diner types for food as well.

Thanks so much and have a great day!
