RomeCabs.com does transfers from port to airport. We have used this company for transfers to and from the port and also for tours. They are always on time and provide excellent service and great drivers.

In one port, Sitka, which is ONLY on the May 13 cruise, there is a possibility of tendering. Depending on how many ships are there that day, sometimes one ship has to tender.
Looks like we are the only ship in port May 17.

Yes we disembarked in Cairns today and are out a lot of money as we make our own way towards getting back on track with the rest of our time down under. So far we have forked out about $1,200 usd to secure flights, hotel rooms and expected meal cost to avoid even more impact to our stay down under should we have stayed onboard and arrived 2-3 days late back in Brisbane. We hope to recover some of this once back home from travel insurance but Princess has done little to help out situation other than recommend disembarking in Cairns if we wanted to continue our trip since even if we arrive in Brisbane in a few days we may not be able to get flights out of there for some time after that.
Sorry to see that your trip is not going as planned. Hope the next cruise is much better. Stay safe.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was only putting over the counter meds like cough drops, advil , tums, etc. in checked bags and then coffee packets.

Can declared items be in checked luggage? We do pick up checked luggage before going through customs correct?

We shall be visiting Shanghai with HA next month, which includes an overnight stay at the port.
My husband and I are “big” kids and are keen to visit Shanghai Disney (preferably on the day that we arrive into Shanghai, 20 March, 8 a.m.) and looking for information/recommendations on the best way to do this. Disney is not included on the ship’s excursions.
Happy to spend the night off the ship, maybe do the Zhujiajiao Water Water Town on the way back to the ship (Tuesday 21 March, sailing at 6 p.m.).
Open to any suggestions, advice, etc.
Cheers
Sandra
We were staying in Shanghai last year and took the train from city center to Disney. We had to switch trains once but the stop for Disney puts you right at the park. Very easy to do.

That's the one thing you can't buy onboard, unfortunately.
If possible try to get to a local supermarket before embarkation and buy some water packs - you can get 24 500ml bottles for around AU $9-8. Tape a luggage label on the pack(s) and hand in with your other luggage to be delivered to your cabin.
We have done this before. Throw it into a small duffle bag add a luggage tag and it gets delivered. Will do this again. Thanks for letting me know we can't buy it on board.

You cant pre purchase any kind of drinks packages on cruises departing Australia /new Zealand. This was done due to the exchange rates being different from pre purchase to embarkation day. A lot of times people would pre purchase packages and then it would be cheaper on board and a hassle to get refunded difference so they stopped pre purchasing availability.
They have tables set up onboard to sell drinks packages once you board. They may do the water package at them, I haven't asked and keep forgetting as I used to get the water package. 🤔
Thanks for the info. Will try to buy water package on board.

i will be interested to see how this works for you. On past cruises from Australia US $ were converted to AUD$ at a rate of about 1US = 1.25 AUD. Rate could change from cruise to cruise but stayed fairly consistent. We have a couple of upcoming cruises (March) and as of this moment all OBC, normally issued in US$ is showing as AUD on a one to one basis in our cruise personalizer. Our daughter and family just returned from a similar cruise and they found their OBC to be one to one and spent considerable amount of time at front desk and Captains Circle Hostess trying to get an understanding of the reasoning to no avail. I am not sure if they had any OBC other than FCC or Military credit but they were frustrated.
We are on the Mar 2nd cruise, which one are you on? It would be frustrating, ours is only $100 U S but would still like my full $100. Thanks for the reply on what to expect.

Literally within days of the 12 pack first appearing for pre-order a couple years ago it was pulled from Australia sailings. With no explanation and so far no return.
I asked Princess why we couldn't order it for our Australia/New Zealand cruise and she said she had no idea why it was not allowed.

Since most, if not all, slot machines are cashless (you use your key card) there is no need for cash. They pay back to your card in whatever currency that is being used on the ship. As noted above, for your cruise that will be in AUD.
This will be new for us, we have always used U S $ in the slot machines on cruises. If we have 100 $ in obc from a credit card will we have 100 AUS $ or is the exchange rate figured in?

Except that the SeaPass card is not gold on ships with a Coastal Kitchen.

I know I saw one of the Princess ships had a cruise to Hawaii from Vancouver.
Maybe it was the Emerald.
Yes it is the Emerald Princess. Left Vancouver on the 4th and returns there on the 19th.

You are right.. I did not realize the distances in that part of the world.. So I should do a Austrailan cruise and spend a few day so Sydney and do NZ another tiime correct?
Any reccoemndatios of what the best cruise for Aussie would be? I can see if I do a NZ crusie there are more ports to see, but I think I want to see as much of Aussie as I can first. ..
We are doing a cruise March 2, 2019 that starts in Auckland (flying in a few days early) goes to Tauranga, Wellington, Akaroa, Dunedin, cruises the fiordland, Hobart, 4 sea days and ends in Sydney and staying over there.

We booked a 2B and paid 2C price.

Just so you know, the SJS does not have two full bathrooms.. One has the shower, and the other has the toilet.
our SJS had a toilet in each bathroom.

Any idea of how long the process takes?
I live in California and I used a visa service. Mailed in my passport and had it back with visa in 10 days. My visa is good for 10 years.

I transfer 5000 points for $50 OBC on my June 15, 2018 cruise and it is not showing up on the RCCL website. I want to use it to pre-book shore excursions. Should it be there? I used the OBC I got when booking the cruise with not problem.
We did a transfer and it showed up on our reservation about 2 weeks later.

We have been told by our TA that we will require a visa to visit st. Petersburg if we plan to tour alone ?? Help please

We used Alla-tours and had a fantastic 2 day tour. 8 of us in a mini van and we were covered under their visa.

I am presently on the Ovation on their first sailing from their HK homeport. RCL do not honour any dinner booking. All must now line up outside the MDR whether you have a booking or not.
We sailed the Ovation last year from Honk Kong but ate in the Coastal Kitchen every night as we didn't care for the food in some of the 4 dining rooms. Do they still do the rotation of the 4 MDR? Hope you are enjoying your cruise. Great ship.

We have stayed at Central Hotel Shanghai and will stay there again later this year. Great hotel and super location.

I went to RC.com, then to Gastronomical experience, then down to room service and it does not show it.
-
Room service is available onboard any time of the day or night - simply order from the room service menu located in your stateroom/suite (late night service charge of $3.95* applies). *Servicecharge subject to change without notice. Subject to change is the big one.
On RC main page under dining options for room service it does not state that service charges are subject to change without notice. No *.

In November on Eclipse our friends (elite) had wine/beer every night at dinner taken off their card as it was still during HH time.
