  1. Carnival Valor, set to sail out of NOLA starting in November, is currently on her way to Cadiz, Spain. It doesn't make sense that they would be pushing up a dry dock, especially when the stock price has plummeted and they've been hemorrhaging cash. So would this be for a C19 retrofit/a freshening up prior to Nov sailings, or has this been a common occurrence with the ships that have been sitting idle?

  2. I'm also booked on Valor out of NOLA on 11/30/2020. We booked this absolutely with the expectation that it would not happen, but we just wanted something to look forward to, even if it was a Fantasy 😉

However... I just checked the position of Valor and she's on her way to Cadiz, Spain. Early dry dock? Freshening up? Installation of C19 safety measures? Since she is only scheduled for 4/5 day sailings out of NOLA to Cozumel and Progreso, she may be considered a good test run.

Well, we tried. Sold out! The TA said they are sold out when booked to 60 to 70% . Tried the Dec 5th. Sold out.

This sounds like a really positive indication sailings may actually start. One of the protocols that has been mentioned is sailing at ~60% capacity, so this may be a sign that a sold out cruise may actually happen. 🌞

  4. What kind of Gel Nail kit do you have and where can I get one?

I bought the Red Carpet Manicure kit from Ulta Beauty. I think it was about $70 for the kit that contains everything you need, including a bottle of red polish. That brand has a good range of colors and usually has some seasonal ones as well. I've also used colored gel polish I bought at Sally, different brand than RCM, but it worked just as well.

It was a great investment and I love being able to do my own mani/pedi that lasts for weeks from the comfort of my own home.

  5. I have a gel nail kit that I do at home. I have been doing gel pedicures for years now -- it would be really hard for me to go back to a regular polish pedi now. My gel pedi lasts 3-4 weeks. I usually only have to change it because it has grown out so much. It stays looking great--very shiny and no spot rubbed off the top of my big toe nail.

  6. The location is good as you will have cabins above and below you; however, the other posters are correct--this is a regular balcony, not one of the Cloud 9 Spa balconies. Is this a special rate you are booking that allows you free spa access without the spa cabin? Sometimes you get a rate that allows for perks like these.

  7. Crystal light sticks that you mix with 20 oz of water. Take up little room and are easy to mix in a water bottle. The Target brand of these are good as well. They even have cocktail- themed flavors like mojito, cosmopolitan, and margarita.

  8. Does anyone know or remember exactly which flavored Absolut vodkas are offered at the bars on the Carnival Dream? I did a search and found old drink menus that show regular Absolut and Absolut Citron, but was wondering if they have any of the other flavors, such as peach or vanilla. If you even have pictures of the liquor behind the bars, that would be great!

I am only interested in Absolut products only, as they're unsweetened. Most other flavored hard liquors have sugar added.

    Thanks!

  10. Please be aware that if you book your cruise and use this OA8 promotion code, your reservation WILL NOT automatically reflect your one-time platinum status. After your have booked your cruise, you will need to go to http://www.carnival.com/specialplatinum and enter in your booking information. After you have done that, you must wait until after April 1st to print your documents (boarding pass, luggage tags, etc) which should then reflect all of the platinum/priority information.

From http://www.carnival.com/specialplatinum, after I entered my information:

Your cruise documents (boarding passes and luggage tags) must be printed after 4/4/14 in order to reflect your status upgrade. Temporary Platinum VIFP Club status will not be reflected in your online profile. To qualify for this offer, your sailing must have been booked using rate code OA8.
