  1. Many of the comments both positive and critical have merit. My biggest concern is the acceptance of the virtual cabin. While we have one reserved I wonder how the general public or should I say cruise public will accept the cabin vs a balcony.....they are not the same.

    Great PIX Lloyd!

I first booked a suite and an infinite balcony but was afraid I would not like the infinity so we traded for a Sunset for that trip instead. I will look at them when I am on and maybe try another time?

  2. I agree. They need to keep smokers where they say they should be. They are getting more bold. On a few of my last ones a few balconies tried it. People called to report them and that was the end of that. I had to do it once when a cigar smoker NEVER left his balcony on a Holland cruise a few years ago. Their answer was to put an air cleaner in MY suite. Husband is allergic and that was the last cruise with them.

IF there is smoking in retreat are I will cancel both of our suites we have booked. Its a health issue for my husband.

  3. The midport garage will still be the closet to the terminal and they will still have the shuttle busses. However, with the improved vehicular traffic circulation and revamped pickup and drop off areas, hopefully it will be less stressful

I am bad. I refuse to drop off my luggage. We park and carry on. but we live here and are used to doing it for 30 years.

  4. We always dress up a few nites. Usually nights at sea. If your not a gown person a cocktail dress or nice sundress would do. My hubi wears a suit. I expect this ship will be dressier for awhile. I hope so. will be our 47th cruise. Happy Wedding!

  5. Very True. In January on our Equinox cruise we saw the new terminal. Lots to do. We got bumped off a cruise in Nov also. Moved to December but NOT happy not to have the cabin I booked the hour they opened booking for my sailing. So I would be paying the same for less cabin. I had a cruise cancelled 2 yrs ago by Celebrity for a charter after a year of being booked. I better not hear it is another charter or TA reason for our cancellation.

I AGREE! I had one cancelled 2 yrs ago for a charter also. AND now both of my Nov ones. I also booked day one with my ta for 2. I also ended up with an inferior cabin in December now. If it had not been so cheap I would have cancelled it.

  6. The issue here may be the fact that they are building a new terminal for Edge in Ft Lauderdale.

  7. Doubtful since Edge doesn’t sail until Nov 27th. The staff member was indicating that it would roll out in Edge first and then to the rest of the fleet afterward. I would imagine that they’ll want to get the menus down pat on Edge for a month or so before spreading them out. So maybe for the new year, Jan 2019? He did say that corporate likes to keep things consistent among all the ships so I don’t think they’d be running with two different menus for very long.

Not true, The Edge sails sooner than Nov 27. We could not wait and are now also on a 3 day Nov 24. There is one before ours I think the 21! Getting closer every day!

  8. I AM!! I have a ? about cabins in Magic Carpet path please. There are 4 on each floor. Does the first one forward and last one aft have a side angle view in addition to some front view? I am thinking they look like they do since the 2 in the middle have a clearer view straight out like a normal balcony. THANKS in Advance.

Love all your info. We are booked 3 X. Once on the Magic carpet.

  9. If you have traveled on both RCI and Celebrity but now prefer Celebrity, would you please help me understand what helped you make that choice?

    Thanks in advance.

I strongly prefer Celebrity. We have been on most every line on over 45 cruises. I have had several friends who recently went on Royal even the bigger newer ships and were dissappointed in food, services and rooms. Side note, We just tried a HAL in December after 10 years. Even tho it was fresh out of dry dock it was still not up to Celebrity standards. Suite was beautifully furnished balcony had great cushions on recliners tho. Food was luckwarm most of the time. It is supposed to be a step up from Royal but still Celebrity for us!
