We usually don't go to the dining room.  I don't like to be locked down to the same specific dining time every night.  We always opt for the my time dining.  However, we typically try to go to the specialty restaurants most nights.  I like the less rushed atmosphere.  The main dining room is very loud and busy, regardless of the time you dine.  The nominal price you pay for the meal above your cruise fare is well worth it to us.  The best meal in have ever had on a cruise was at the Italian restaurant last spring break.  We were with 2 of our girls (both teenagers) and simply asked them to bring us a sampling of the chefs favorites rather than ordering off the menu.  We are not fussy eaters, and are open to trying anything.  It was so wonderful! We had a lot of fun with our server and the chef was awesome! I think he may have been trying new recipes on us and it was great.  If money allows you to skip the dining room, it's worth it.  On the nights were more tired we just went to the buffet.

On my last cruise I asked our waiter if they received the full amount if a person did the auto tips on their account. He said they did receive the full tip however, that tip money was not actually given to them until about a month later. This means that the cruise line is able to keep and use their money for a month. It seems like another way for them to float and earn interest on the crews money.i always tip more than the full amount personally in cash so I am sure they always get their money right away. It is too bad people who didn't tip had to force them to impose this. It should be a choice to pay cash or put it on your account.

Do Royal Family Suites get all the same perks? We cruise on 11/1 and I am just wondering if we will be getting a letter from the concierge....

We just got off sailing in a RFS. You may have had the same suite. You do get the same perks. I will be interested in your experience this week. I just posted a review, hopefully it will be online soon. It was pretty lengthy. Make sure you post when you arrive. Hope you have a great time!

My name is Anthea Helmsing and I will be your Concierge. As the Concierge, I will be available to assist you with any special requests you may have. As a Concierge Club guest you will be offered amenities and services not available to other guests onboard the Liberty of the Seas.

In order to help you plan accordingly, I would like to inform you there will be two formal nights, one on Sunday and one on Wednesday.

For your convenience, here is a brief summary of the services we will be offering to you:

· Use of the Concierge Club Lounge (located on Deck 10).

· Continental breakfast served in the lounge daily from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.

· Hors d’oeuvres served in the lounge from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm each evening.

· A complimentary bar setup available in the lounge from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm each evening.

· Assistance with reservations for Portofino Italian restaurant & Chops Grille Steakhouse. As some of the reservations fill quickly, on the first day of your cruise vacation it is advisable to make reservations as soon as possible. However, if you are already aware of when you would like to dine in either of these venues, please e-mail me back prior to boarding and I will be more than happy to secure a reservation for you.

· Assistance with Explorations! bookings. As some tours fill quickly, on the first day it is advisable to book tours directly through the RCTV menu on your stateroom television.

· Appointments for Salon or Spa treatments. As some treatments fill quickly, on the first day of your cruise vacation it is advisable to book these as soon as possible. Nevertheless, if you are already aware of a particular treatment you would like on a particular day, please e-mail me back prior to boarding and I will be more than happy to secure a reservation for you. For your convenience, I have attached a copy of the menus of services offered by the Spa.

· Personalized Guest Services offered in the Concierge lounge.

· Reserved VIP seats for production and ice shows.

· In Suite baby-sitting service requests.

· Reserved seating area during breakfast and lunch on the Windjammer Cafe.

· Reserved seating area at the pool area.

· DVDs available to borrow during my office hours.

· Daily Dining Room menus displayed.

· Assistance with the arrangement of private parties.

Please note that the Concierge Lounge is a private lounge reserved for guests staying in staterooms of Grand Suite and above and will be accessible twenty-four hours a day. We regret that visitors in the lounge are not permitted. Due to the adult-orientated atmosphere and availability of alcoholic beverages between 5:00 pm and 8:30 pm each evening,only guests 18 years and above are permitted at this time. During all other times, we request that an adult accompany children under the age of 18. We respectfully request that guests use proper footwear and appropriate dress while in the lounge. The lounge has also been designated a smoke-free area.
