In 12 days we are due on the thomson celebration on the ancient wonders cruise. It starts and finishes in turkey . Dalaman airport, then Marmaris, Istanbul and Kusadasi as well as Greek ports.

I am more than a little worried by the escalating violence in the turkish region. Up till very recently i was comforted that it was all on the Syrian border area but now we here there are riots in Istanbul.

What happens? When do they decide if they will call/not call at ports and how easy is it to move ports . Could be an administrative nightmare

And what if we cant even fly into Dalaman?

Hello, original poster here.... It is so interesting to hear every ones experiences and opinions.

It seems that many of you have had such a great deal for the drinks package from time to time and I agree if you can get it free (whoopee) or for £69 then it is a great deal. But at the full rate of £199 for one week it is not such a deal.

I have decided not to take the package.

I did read somewhere that sometimes there are daily drinks packages available . Is that true??

We are on the Celebrity on oct 20th for 7 nights. I have been considering the AI package , which is £199 each.

That is roughly £30 a day in drinks costs. Im just not sure if its worth it.

Looking at drinks menus which other folks have posted it looks like Spirits are around £3.90 each . Does that include the mixers?

Wine and beer around the same cost . So it looks like we would need to be drinking 7+ drinks a day to make it worth while (if my maths is right)

Maybe on the sea day but im not so sure on the others .

Can someone tell me what happens with mixers ie gin and tonic on both the AI package and pay as you go . If it puts cost up to £6 each drink then that would be a deciding factor
