  1. I’m on the boat leaving when they get back.  We’re to be told Tue night what’s going to happen for us.  I’ve heard it’ll be shorter as this boat had to leave late.  It was a 7 so best guess is a 5 day.  I’ve not had a cruise changed or canceled so I’m unsure what to expect them to offer?  Anyone else have ideas?

  2. If memory serves from several ships in the past it's good for kids but if your trying to outfit adults I'd just look on amazon and pick up something there.  I like the snorkel packs that come in a bag.  You can find sets that have the fins, mask and snorkel plus a bacf on amazon for $30-50 and it's perfectly fine for a trip out.  For the bag if you get one large enough you can normally just take that off the ship and it'll hold a water bottle and towel plus a couple items so if your not a pack rat you might get away with only taking that bag :-)  I'm sure it'd cost more on the ship. I think more than that I plan space in my bags for bringing things back and snorkel gear can take up a good amount of space, so if you buy it on board you might run into space issues later.  Anyway don't over think snorkel gear too much, every mask will fog and ever snorkel will get water in it some less than others but not so much less that you should spend twice as much or anything 🙂

  3. I’m on the Vista leaving when you guys get back.  Was susposed to leave on the 22nd but the email today said you guys might not get back till the 23rd?   Here’s my email:

    Dear Carnival Vista Guest,

Carnival Vista is experiencing an issue affecting its maximum cruising speed. Our technical team completed their full assessment of the necessary work once the ship arrived in Galveston today. Unfortunately, due to the reduced cruising speed, it was necessary to extend the cruise departing on June 15 to an 8 day sailing, returning June 23.

We apologize for the impact this will have on your vacation plans. Our team is in the process of assessing the status of your cruise and we will get back to you with an update no later than 6:00 PM (EST) Tuesday, June 18, 2019.

If you have air travel plans, please do not reschedule your flights until you receive our update. In the event you have any air related change fees, Carnival will provide reimbursement.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

  4. I need to find something to do while in port. I think this is the port that there is very little right immediately there. I booked a Carnival cruise yesterday for October 22nd so a lot of the excursions are picked over.

Last time we were in this port I'm pretty sure we just booked a resort, the name escapes me but we just took a cab and camped out there all day. We are two 40ish adults with no kids, it'd be nice to find a spot that's a bit quiet, we're not party animals :-) I'm not really into tours of building or zip lines LOL.

In other ports we'll be diving in GC and some sea turtle conservation in Coz.

  5. Bunch of FB stalkers LOL :p It is weird that more family hasn't shown up here. On my past cruises there's been more. Honestly I kinda expected a few more just because school isn't out and the typical family with kids will be waiting a couple weeks. Kinda thought that'd lead to more couples, who normally like to find other couples to join for a drink. But now that I've got vacation syndrome I'll go stalk the FB page while at work.

  6. We booked two off Carnival. In Belize we're doing one of the random snorkel boats that meets us at the ship and takes us out and back. In Rotan we're going to Maya Key. Sounded nice to just wonder about not on any schedule. We normally dive when we go on vacation but we decided to make this vacation the LEAST trouble possible. So no diving just snorkeling.

I've been to Cozumel a zillion times from cruise ships or long vacations for diving. If you need any tips or directions ask. We were there for just over 3 weeks last year.

Carlos and Charlies is always a blast. I've done some pretty silly things in there and coming outa there. Once I stole a man's giant barracuda on the pier momentarily for a short dance and photo op. Once back on the boat, the at that time girlfriend ... was not so happy with my fishy clothes and put drunk me and me wearing them into the shower until she was happy.

Sounds like someone has an overdue wedding ring. Hope you get one! :D

  7. I like that, "not picky just entertained". That stuck me as hilarious here at the end of my work day, thanks.

We live up in Dallas so it'll be an easy drive down that morning. My other sailings I did not have a balcony so I may be firmly attached to that rail for the first day. But as I say that I know I also love to people watch, so I'll keep an eye out for you.

BTW I'm Stephenie and the DH is Chaney.

  8. My first cruise I didn't know about it until the first meeting had passed, but we cruised by trying to get a peek the rest of the week but didn't see anyone.

However I was set for the next cruise. I met two gay couples on this forum and then we had an agreement to meet at the first FOD meeting. We had the best time the 4 of us girls and the 4 guys. We convinced them to get off the boat with us in Jamaica and be our beards. They had not planned to do an excursion but were swayed into joining us. We'd planned on going to a private beach club where the risk of crazy was low. I still remember that as one of the best off ship experiences I've ever had. We snorkeled and beach bummed most of the day. But then we found the small water park that wasn't busy at all. All of us in our 30-40s played like children. Running up and down the waterslides, splashing in the pool, and floating the lazy river.

If anyone happens to be on CCL Magic April 20th drop me a line.
