with the exception of chartreuse the food on this ship has been outstanding in every venue for a ship. Compass rose tops any main dining room on any ship. My only complaint is that room service menu too limited.

Hi, just an FYI.  Whenever Compass Rose is open you can order off their menu for room service.  The menus are available on the TV, this greatly expands the room service options.

-the rooms are seriously shy on outlets. It would behoove my fellow North Americans to bring European style adaptors to increase meet your needs.

A quick note on the outlets - agreed there are too few NA ones, I bring a power strip.  There are 2 that are a bit hidden, my first time on the Explorer, near the end of the cruise I realized there is one more under each of the bedside tables in the concierge and superior suites, this is in addition to the USB ones on the wall above.

  3. Hi, we were on the Splendor 12/27 - 1/13 and Compass Rose was open for breakfast.  We at there several times.

On Explorer and Splendor, Compass Rose is not open for lunch.  On sea days both Prime 7 and Chartreuse are open for lunch and on port days one is open, alternating each port day.  This is in addition to La Veranda and the pool grill.

It's important to remember that you can write in items on the breakfast menu form in the suite, we often add items like eggs benedict, etc. and everything comes hot and delicious.  We've found that you can write in anything that is on the Compass Rose breakfast menu.

    Enjoy!

Excellent question - thank you for bringing it up. Assuming that the PDF included the tours for ALL of the ports on the cruise, is having it download immediately preferable to having it sent via email? Or if the only way to receive all of the tours for all of the ports is via e-mail, waiting a few minutes for it is preferable? I welcome any and all thoughts on the subject from the group!

    Hi Mike

Either way is good as long as the pdf that is emailed is the one containing all the information (departure times, etc.).  Currently the image.png.7a01c490b44ea88fe218552b0a8931f5.pnglink sends the file with all the details, for both passengers that are booked, as well as those just looking.

If the link is clicked before the excursions are ready you get the image.png.78dc78c1af08e85940a591a23b3514b1.png

message to try again later so I would think that would be the same moving forward.

I don't use it but others may still want to use the download feature before the final excursions have been set to get the list of previously offered excursions to take a look, so maybe 2 links?

Thanks again for all the effort on improving the website.

  5. The option to email the shore excursion list (the complete list including departure times) appears to be gone.  The only option is to download each location but the details are not included.  Did I miss it?  Is the option to receive an email with all excursions listed still going to be there?

  6. I agree and applaud Regent's attempt to find a solution for hearing the guides on tours.  I also agree that unless all participants on the tour can take advantage of the audio portion, this solution will not work.  People mention being close to the guide to listen if you do not have a smartphone or are having issues connecting.  The problem with this is when guides have an audio solution, they no longer talk in a loud voice, they speak in a conversational tone.  Asking the guide to speak loudly and use the audio solution means those listening over their smartphones will be hearing yelling the whole time.  Often tours are traversing through narrow spaces, are indoors, etc. and the group needs to spread-out, having the audio continue in my ear is what I expect.  There is no way a person could always be beside the guide.   I personally love the freedom an audio device brings to a tour - I no longer have to stare at the guide to hear what's being said - I can look around, linger for a moment, take photos, etc. and still benefit from the guide's information.  One other issue that hasn't been brought up in this discussion is the need to be in airplane mode.  Is this really a requirement or just an easy way to find the wireless network?  When I travel I use my phone, - texting, email, etc. I still need to be available.  Being in airplane mode means I'll be out of touch for the duration of the tour.

There is no easy answer, but I would think that with the  buying power of Norwegian Cruise Line Holding, LTD, purchasing units for all guests or requiring the companies they do business with to provide units, should be the focus.

The only place I can find it is on the View Deck Plans page, then download the pdf file of the specific ship, the details are on the pdf's.

Thanks!!  That's it.  If Regent is reading, you may want to add this to the list of updates for the website.  It's static information so it wouldn't need to be constantly updating.  I know I find it informative and it helps tell the story of how great the guest to space/crew ratio is. It's kind of hidden where it is now.  Or at least it was to me 🙂

Of course, if they DID want to do something like that, it could be as simple as adding a button to the 'Our Ships' page and having a small data table pop up:

Realistically it wouldn't take much to implement or maintain...but you have to wonder if there's really enough interest in this for Regent to set up and maintain it.  I really don't think most people care that much about the crew until their 5th cruise or better, and by that time, we're already hooked.   :classic_biggrin:

Of course, it would have to be prettier, and it would be best as a pop-up window rather than a dialog bubble, but I don't have the time or energy to do it right.  Can you tell it's Friday afternoon in the office?

Seeing this page of the website reminds me of a question I have about where the page that had more information about the ships went.  There used to be a link where you could see information about the size of the ships, the number of passengers and crew, the number of suites, etc..  Is this data available anywhere on the website anymore?

  9. You can have the tours emailed to you. The email you receive will have the current tours as well as their departure times. Log onto the Regent's site and search for your cruise, you don't need to be logged in to do this. On the itinerary page click the first port for the cruise. On the page that comes up, just above the Legend box, you should see the link Receive All Available Tours Via E-mail. Click that link, fill in your email address and click submit. It usually takes 5-10 minutes for the email to come.

  10. I’m hoping anyone on board could do me a favor. As a Platinum member we’ve been enjoying the “Choice of newspaper service from papers around the world” perk for many years. It’s great to sit out on the balcony and sip some wine while reading the news of home. On my last 2 cruises however, I was told the newspaper I’ve always requested and received, The Boston Globe, was no longer available through the service Regent uses. I meant to note the name of the service on my last cruise but it slipped my mind. If I remember correctly the last page of the newspaper printout is an advertisement for the service. Can someone look and let me know the name of the service? We have another cruise in a few weeks and I’m hoping I can work some magic.

Thanks for the help. Happy cruising.
