Awesome! Thanks everyone for taking that item off my plate to deal with.

Lovely hotel. Be aware that Canada Place is downhill a steepish but walkable hill from the hotel. We took a taxi to the pier because we had my mom with us but we laughingly suggested we should ride our luggage down the hill and practice our luge skills!
Thanks! We will be sure to have our running shoes on! :D

Hi,
We will be on the Celebrity Infinity this summer and I was wondering what people have figured out regarding communication while on the boat with 10 people potentially scattered everywhere. I'm assuming if we want to use phones, we need to pay for wifi...any other thoughts or solutions other than the periodic times to just agree to meet?
Thanks!

I went ahead and booked a refundable rate with Expedia at the Metropolitan Hotel because of location. Right around the corner from a train station and walkable to the cruise. Thanks for all the help! Now I need to go work on best solutions for a group of 10 to communicate with each other while on the boat :)

Radisson Vancouver Airport
Thanks!

we stayed at a hotel by the airport..free shuttle to the hotel..took sky train in for the cruise the next day....had enough time to take the train in to downtown Vancouver to check out stuff and have dinner...train stop near the hotel
price for hotels by the airport much better than downtown
Thanks! Where did you stay?

Fairmont waterfront, across the street is the Canada Place
That’s what looked great...until I saw the price $900ish....yikes!

@rick1969: What time is your plane arriving at YVR? Do you have enough time for sightseeing?
What tentative date are you looking for a Vancouver room? Some dates are premium priced due to festivals.
We don’t get in until evening. Vancouver sightseeing is planned for post-cruise. Based on the prices I’m seeing, must be something else going on.

YWCA Hotel, if they have rooms left. Best deal in the region - clean, safe, convenient downtown location, great reviews, and cheaper than airport hotels.
Thanks...as predicted...YWCA is already full.

Hi,
We are flying in the day before our cruise departs and am looking for advice on best/convenient place to stay for the night before leaving. I’m assuming taking the SkyTrain from YVR makes the most sense, but where to stay after that is up in the air. Recommendations? Prices right now for summer are insane but maybe that’s just the going rate for Downtown Vancouver.
Thanks
Rick

Alaska is about the ports!! Ship is secondary, make sure you are looking at the best itinerary you can get within your price range.
Thanks. The itineraries are virtually identical so now it's the deciding factor of the ships.

Since it is ship related, a better response will be on each ship's forum.
Got it. Thanks!

Hi all,
Planning a family reunion for the summer of 2018 and 7 of the 10 family members have never been on a cruise. The youngest going will be almost 18 at the time of cruising. We have narrowed down our search to two similar but not identical itineraries. We are looking at the Celebrity Infinity cruise out of Vancouver or the HAL Eurodam cruise out of Seattle. We are good with either itinerary. The question is the ship experience. Between these two ships, given their recent renovations, which one will give the first time cruisers the best first time experience?
Thanks! I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post in, so if it needs to be moved, no worries.

As I think about that more and how late we will end up getting into Vancouver, I think I’m going to go with this strategy instead of the Metropolitan downtown. We will be ready to crash once we get to the hotel anyway. Thanks for the further clarification.
