Thanks, shof515, for your reply. This saves me lots of time researching without any results. 😉

Does anybody have a clue as to when the New England/Canada 2022 sail dates will be released? Other 2022 itineraries are published, but not this particular route. 😕

Many thanks to Shof515 and to PhillyFan for your responses! Now I can stop worrying myself silly by constantly rechecking the CCL website. LOL

Does anybody have a clue as to when Carnival will release their Fall 2021 cruise schedules for Hawaii? I know the Spring schedules are out, but Nov-April is their rainy season. I'm looking at cruising during the Sept-Oct timeframe. TIA!

Ignore it. When folks decry something as bad or a waste of time with absolutely no supporting evidence, it is useless.
We have been to Freeport twice and there are tons of options. Very nice beaches, great places to get some local seafood, interesting history etc. We were just there a few weeks ago, and in fact were only the second ship to return post Hurricane Matthew. We had booked a private tour and it was terrific! Great tour of the area near the port, fascinating hike through Lucayan National Forest (including two caves and the mangroves), time at Gold Rocks Beach which is gorgeous, lunch at a charming local place and more.
Cruzeluver, will you share info about your private tour? Hiking thru the national forest sounds great! Is this something safe to do on your own?

I don't understand why a man was refused a cruise to Alaska, because he didn't have a passport. Why would he need one to go to Alaska? That's the U.S.
At the Skagway port, if and you have an excursion booked into Canada, you HAVE to posses a current USA passport. All passports are checked at the Canadian border. The same also applies if you want to get off the ship in Victoria, BC.

Which only complicates the subject matter even more is the fact that this is another one of those "Carnival universal polices" that are implemented on a ship by ship basis...some ships abide by this particular rule, others don't. This is much aligned with the formal dress code, chair hogs, people saving places upfront in the Main Lounge for the stage shows, etc. WTH??? Apply a universal policy so that ALL of us Carnival cruisers know what's up! SMDH!

Speculation is one thing. All I know is that I got burned on the last "restructuring" and right now I'm Gold (at 71 days), with 5 cruises booked starting in October 2016 thru October 2017. If I get burned again with only 4 days to go to make Plat...oh yeah, I'm so outa here! With the thousands and thousands of dollars that I've spent over the years, and Budget Queen I know you've spent way more than that, I'm still entitled to my opinion and where I choose to place my cruise dollars. Bottom line!

From what I've read, and that has been years of research, Scotchies is the ONLY place near MB that still cooks jerk the original way, over pimento wood. The Pork Pit may be good, but if I'm already going the distance to MB, I want the real thing. Scotchies, its gotta be!

You are starting early! Good for you! I want to do the very same as you, but I leave one day B4 Halloween, so I'm following this post. :p :)

I've always booked Early Saver & have yet to receive OBC (probably from the type of rooms I book, but I have also booked interiors & reg balconies). Even gave up looking for a lower price. Going to book Military rate from now on, be done with it and focus on other aspects of the cruise. It's all good. ;)

Thanks. We dont want to spend the day driving and worried about getting back on time. We will find something else. What do you recommend from your experience.? We are on our honeymoon and dont mind adventure. :)
Thanks

Has anyone been on this tour? I was hoping to get two excursions in at this port but the tour company said the drive between the two wouldn't allow it. I think i was looking at the Marley house and the caves. If you have been on this tour, how far is it from the port? Google said it was 15 minutes away, and i would like to get some first had information. Thanks.
If you are cruising & MB is your port, time does not allow for a trip to Nine Mile. If staying at a hotel, then you have plenty of time for a Marley tour. I know this because I have done tons of research & tried numerous times, to no avail. Only way to Nine Mile with plenty of time is if you port at Ocho Rios. Carnival even has a ship sponsored excursion to Nine Mile, but only from OR, but not from MB. :(

I'm looking for some recent reviews for Coral Breeze. Past reports from last year and before have been less than glowing and cruisers advised to find another source. Rumor has it that things have recently improved, but I have been unable to find tangible evidence.
Have you recently booked an excursion with Coral Breeze and did you have satisfactory results? Any info is most appreciated.
Cruise on!

Remember there are two water taxis and two airlines if you get into trouble.
wadethegringo, what is the name of the other water taxi and which one would you recommend for a nervous cruise passenger (not me, but a cruise mate)? I want to tell her, once again, it's not the kiss of death to take the water taxi. Thanks for any info.

My DD and I have done this on 2 times....it is incredible...I agree with everything that dlinr said about it but when we got back to Caye Caulker, we rented a golf cart and got to go all over the island....we didn't do the lunch option, we bought kabobs from a guy on the beach that was grilling chicken, lobster, or caunch(sp?) and it was soooooo good....:)
Hello skyfire53!
Exactly where did you rent the golf cart and do you mind if I ask how much you paid? I assume carts can be rented at the airport, but I prefer a rental somewhere on Caye Caulker's main drag, if at all possible. Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks so much for all of the responses. Now I know what to expect when I arrive in Seattle in a couple of weeks. Guess this calls for a return trip to Seattle in a couple of years to see the finished waterfront project.;) I know that time can't come quick enough for all of the local businesses involved. Again, I do appreciate the updated info. Happy cruising to all!

I don't know, but I'll be down in that neighborhood tomorrow. I'll take a look and report back!
Thanks much, Casagordita! I really do appreciate that very much! I read that the project was running behind schedule, so I'm not feeling very optimistic. Regardless, I've got my fingers crossed and hoping for good news. :)

Does anybody know if the downtown waterfront construction project is now complete? It was my understanding that the project was originally scheduled for completion before the July 4th holiday. Is the project near completion yet? Curious minds want to know. :)

I used Coastal for my heli-dog sled experience several years ago with great results. I justified the cost of the excursion by telling myself it was really two excursions rolled into one. The helicopter ride was awesome in itself, but the sledding was beyond magical (at least for me). Truly, it was a once in a lifetime experience for me. You won't regret booking this excursion.

Mapleleaves,
Do you know if Eastside for Hire picks up passengers curbside outside the baggage claim area? Or would we have to transport our luggage to another concourse and down the escalator to the parking garage?
Thanks for any info.

I certainly appreciate hearing the "real deal" about the downtown situation and not a slicked-up version that a Chamber of Commerce marketing executive would dish out. Of course, "always be aware of your surroundings regardless of where you are" is sage advice, but it's nice to know that I'm not putting my life at risk by walking to dinner at dusk or later. Since we're leaving the next day for Alaska, we will go back fairly early to the hotel and spend midnight with a glass of wine enjoying our hotel roof top patio that overlooks the bay. Thanks again for all responses. It puts my mind at ease.

I want to thank each and every one for their suggestions. Not only did I receive an answer to my questions, but also additional info regarding nearby restaurants and side trips to consider. Since I have only 6 hours to see the locks, the Public Market, the waterfront near our downtown hotel, I'll have to bypass the bus option and arrange transportation with Eastside for Hire.
I made airline reservations for our Alaska cruise last September and now I truly regret not allowing additional time to spend in the Seattle area. I had no idea there is so much to see and do there.

I know nothing about scooter rental, but recently ran across this link. I saved it for future reference, if necessary. Hope it works out for you. https://scootaround.com/en/cruise-scooter-rentals?fbclid=IwAR0yi4xQVYmhoj-PjbfPjd0G4eQ7ZsiKjdU4cUnO6rulued0jIO2JyEaAVo
