...and we have hit upon the crux of the problem, no system enhancement will prevent this...maybe tasers?
Yep, I mentioned something to two staffers that were standing on the landing on Deck 3 - neither seemed to care that the forward stairwells were clogged with idjuts. If the staff doesn't see a problem, I have no problem trucking over them with my wife's 100lb suitcase 🙂

We have been on so many cruises where the CD will get on the intercom and announce....again....do not come down to the lobby until your deck is called. It's obvious so many people don't listen to the rules and just do what they want.
Just off the Valor for a 5 day last month. I couldn't believe how many times the CD had to say something. There were people just sitting on the stairs waiting. We self debarked with 2 teen age boys. I know I rolled over some toes and ankles trying to go up one flight of stairs... I'm sure they did as well. Not my problem... we didn't go out of our way to hurt anyone, but I wasn't being extra careful either.

Hello,
I am coming back to Carnival sailing in three weeks, my question:
Rumor has it when you have the Cheers program when you are in port/port days there is no limited (15 alcoholic drinks) per day, is this true?
In half moon cay I recall a bar there is the Cheers package included there?
Does anybody know what they serve for lunch on Half Moon Cay, anything besides burgers and hot dogs and fries?
With regards to Cheers and ports... it depends on the port. I know at Galveston, the Cheers package is not valid while in port - due to Texas laws. If you're sailing out of Galveston, your Cheers package starts day 2, and your price is adjusted to reflect that. There might be other ports like that.

Sensation is the YTD dining room. I think, formal and semi formal were Day 2 and Day 5. But don't quote me on that!

Just a few more days!!!

You can't select a boarding time. You can only select a time to check in at the cruise terminal. People constantly get these two things confused. When you go to "Manage My Cruise" on Carnival's home page, you'll see a blue square on the left side, and at the top of the square, it will say "To Do List". One of the selections will be "On Line Check-In". You won't be able to select a check-in time until 90 days before your cruise. There will be a date that indicates when you can select your check-in time.
Perfect. Do you also need to be paid in full to select an arrival time? My understanding is that some sections of the on-line check in require to be Paid in Full, which doesn't line up perfectly with the 90 days out. My Dec 8th cruise shows Paid In Full due date is Sept 23rd and online check in is showing as available Sept 8th. I've never run into this as I've always had my cruise paid off at least a month before the final due date.

Oh, I'm an idiot. Antigua, not Aruba. Sigh, winter has been too long!

My Dec 2019 Magic sailing still shows Aruba on the Itinerary. I'll have to watch that!

https://www.foxnews.com/travel/carnival-cruise-line-will-no-longer-sail-to-antigua
Carnival Cruise Line has announced that its fleet will no longer be sailing to the island of Antigua, affecting passengers booked for trips on its Breeze, Legend, Magic and Pride ships as of November 2019.
Reps for the cruise line told Fox News that the decision was made as Antiguan government officials have expressed that they “don’t want cruise lines and our guests to visit,” so for the time being the cruise line has decided to focus "on destinations that are more welcoming.”

We're on the Magic in December in an Ocean Suite. I'm passing on FTTF as the only thing that gets me is "My room being ready right away" and the line at GS. I don't need to spend an additional $100 for that. I have no problem rolling my carry on around for 2 hours, and I have no problem going to GS on the off hours (if needed).
Priority Boarding, Debarking, and Tenders are included with the price of a Suite.

2 ppl in your cabin or 4? I got an upsale from an interior to a ocean view a while back on the Valor 5 Night with 4 ppl. It was something like 220 for the room... that was a good deal - about 11/person/day for a larger room with a window.
-
Here's a discussion on it, there hasn't been any correlation that I've seen yet. Some people are reporting that they are Platinum or Diamond and getting Boarding Zones like B4 and such.

You can save 10% on excursions via the Carnival credit card as well.

You need a copy of your boarding pass to enter the terminal. I don't recall ever having to show my passport before checking in but it's probably a good idea to have it with you.
Excellent thanks.

We always use EZ-cruise in Galveston. I drop our party off with the luggage go park and walk back. When we return I walk over pick up the car and come back for the party and luggage.
What documentation is needed when dropping family / luggage off, and then when walking back from parking? Just ID or cruise docs? Thanks!

We're doing the Valor, so 5 nights instead of 7... but I found some good deals actually renting a car from Avis at IAH for 7 days and paying for parking. By my estimates it was only about $50 more than transportation options, and we have a car for the day before and day after (due to a great deal on flights, we're flying in late two nights before, and flying out very early two days after).
Might be worth the effort to look into a rental and parking... of course the economics of it change with a 7 night cruise.

I've booked with EZCruiseParking.com for our upcoming Valor cruise. When I booked it I was doing things in multiple tabs and accidentally booked and paid for the Feb 23rd sailing of the Valor. I wasn't able to modify or cancel the reservation. On Sunday afternoon I sent an email to them, and within an hour I received a reply back that the reservation had been modified and attached was a new receipt. That's great customer support!
I plan on dropping the family, luggage off with the car, and then parking and walking to the port to board with them.

It is based on the cruise length, but it also varies from port to port. If I remember correctly, the price is $79.95 for a 4-5 day cruise out of N.O.
That's what is currently showing as the price for a 5 day out of Galveston.
Ahhh, looks like it's based on the ship
https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1374/~/faster-to-the-fun-(fttf)
For example
$59.95 USD
5 day cruises on Carnival Sensation
$79.95 USD
5 day cruises (excluding Carnival Sensation)

No, given that N.O. is one of the most expensive ports for FTTF ...
I thought FTTF is based on cruise duration. Is that incorrect?

The above change in Southern Caribbean itin
and the day-stops I postulated per week-day
has just been confirmed by my local Cruise Consultant booking ppl
who are in reliable contact with Carnival Corp.
Its out on the website - I saw that itinerary when looking at doing another Fascination cruise in 2020.

On our Fascination cruise, we did an excursion on every port - so 5 days we were back after lunch was served. Just about every day I had a burger to hold me over to dinner 🙂

Yes, messages through the Hub App, not traditional SMS messages.

Booked a few months back. Called and upgraded to a deck 5 Terrazza Cabana 3 weeks ago. DW and I are both mid-gold, haven't done shorter than an 8 day in the last three cruises.
Really looking forward to the ship. We've been to every stop but Amber Cove so that will be a treat.
