  1. Have points for either Marriott or Holiday Inn. Can't decide if better to stay at 2 different hotels or just go straight to the San Pedro Crown Plaza. I'm thinking, with coming from East Coast (midnight our time), better to head right down (Uber Black as want terminal 5 pick up) rather than spend that night at a LAX hotel with shuttle. Or will that be more tiring? We are in our 70's.

     

     

  2. Local (NYS) senior citizen center sponsoring a cruise for March 2024.  Checks for a 500 deposit retained until had enough travelers sign up. By August 30 had enough interest to go ahead with the cruise using our checks which were deposited in the senior citizen account.  I had mailed my check in June showing cashed in August.  They are now collecting checks for final payment amount and the cruise will be purchased end of September. The are telling I qualify for the waiver as no funds have been given until final payment. I called the insurance company they are using and they claim June would count as my first payment...not when cashed....even though cruise tour not a given as yet.

    I have a few days left  to qualify for a waiver if  date they cashed the 500 dollar deposit counts.  Check had been made out  to The Senior Center Trips/Tours. Hope this is clear lol

  3. Reserved guarantee cabin through local Senior Center tour. No choice of cabin category other than BB.  Once I get a reservation number etc any way can call and pay to up my category? Would they send upgrade bid emails if going through a tour company? Going with friends and includes bus transportation to Manhattan terminal, otherwise would get cabin directly on my own. Tried to pay just for the bus but no deal.

  4. We need to meet our private driver outside the security gates and downhill to where the taxis wait.  Is this a steep walk or gradual incline? Are there possibly golf carts to take you to the gates? We are told it should be about an eight minute walk total but map seems longer to me. Concerned about my sister who had a knee replacement a few months ago. Although she is completely healed. My husband has hip pain if he walks a longer distance on an incline. Any info appreciated.

  5. Have had the card a long time. Only use when planning a booked cruise and have had no problems turning in points other than one time a couple years ago. I saved the number of their service for addressing just such problems. 866-928-3106. Was used very recently with success by another cruise critic member

  6. Gee, glad I did my credit 2 weeks ago! Had no problems doing it online. There were lots of problems when they switched  to a new software 2 years ago or so.  I have two phone numbers saved that may be useful if still in service.  866-928-3106 and 866-872-6248

    this is the first time I have ever done this price match program and was very impressed. 

    Sunsetbeachgal…….do you remember when the credit showed up on your account? Email just said accepted....no other info not even the amount. I'm thinking you have to go on the excursion first?

I submitted a request for a Belize Lamanai ruin excursion.  They denied it (saying lunch not served same location) so I submitted another one from a different vendor (of which a travel companion's was accepted). Has anyone tried a second submission from a different vendor? I haven't heard back yet.

     

    Has anyone argued their case by phone or email?

  9. There are 12 of us traveling together doing this excursion. They have already signed up and paid for this. It can still be canceled with full refund.  I wanted to do this with the ship cause of the time factor.  We are in port (Sky Princess) 7am until 6PM. They guarantee to get you to next port...but that would be our disembarkation losing our last day at sea.  Tour leaves 9:30 ship time (8:30 local) and states to be assigned on first tender. If not, says to go to pursers desk or shore ex desk and say you won't make tour if not on it?? I'm  thinking they will not care!  We are to be at their departure location by 9:10.  Length says 6 hours.....so should be back by 3:30 which gives approx. 2 hr cushion. I'm still thinking of trying to ask everyone to change their plans but if we don't I'm hoping we will still be ok. Has anyone done this with shoreex or asked to be assigned on first tender?
