  1. Here is an article listing hotels with shuttles to the Port https://www.allcruisehotels.com/blog/port-canaveral-hotels-cruise-shuttle/

However, Port Canaveral prices have gotten crazy, so you may want to check one of the travel apps or check individual hotel prices yourself. Radisson at the Port, Marriott Courtyard, Hampton inn, are some that we’ve previously stayed in with shuttles.  However, this March we’re staying at Holiday Inn express and Ubering to Port. Good luck!

  2. I've always thought having a muster station in the theater or MDR was ludicrous. Obviously some of the locations of the muster stations on Concordia contributed to passenger deaths, when they became trapped. I know I am not waiting in the theater while the ship is sinking! We always go try to find which lifeboat is ours. I guess we're paranoid but our backpack contains a space blanket, a liter of water, 2 super bright waterproof led flashlites, some granola bars, a Portable waterproof VHF radio with built-in GPS with DSC. My inclinometer from my Tartan is in there too. I probably should add a mini fish tackle box to it, but DW is telling me to get my paranoid self to sleep. HMMM. Think I'll throw a couple hundred feet if 1/2" climbing ropes and rappeling gear in them. Might need a bigger bag!:D

  3. I wish I didn't have to agree with you. But i do and IMHO the best steak onboard is not Cagneys, but at le Bistro. Nice big fat piece of tenderloin. Cooked exactly how you want it cooked. I told them 145 degrees and thats what I got. Wonderful piece of meat. I cant say the same about the pitiful fatty Ribeye in La Cuchina....I don't know what was I thinking! Get the Ossabuco! I still remember the days of the wonderful prime ribs and tenderloins in the MDRs. Oh well, such is the changing world of cruising!

  4. Each port has its own specialties for shopping.

Cozumel is by far a shopping mecca. You can shop until you drop in San Miguel. Best prices can be found a street or two behind the main street through the city.

In Roatan items made from the various woods of the island are great buys, specially mahogany. You can find wood items from instruments to bowls and dinnerware to magnificant hand carved trunks.

Belize is also known for items made from area tree wood.

Cayman has many, many stores in which to shop but you will find prices significantly higher there. Main item we bring home from Grand Cayman is Blackbeard Rum Cake. Delicious and much better than the Tortuga rum cakes made there that are so highly advertised.

Definitely agree that, by far, best shopping on this itinerary is in Cozumel. If you are near the International Pier, there is a shopping center right across the street. Also plenty of shops around the square or plaza. If interested in good liquor prices, there is a store in Grand Cayman, right in the shuttle pier, that has a great selection and good prices. Buy in the morning, leave it with them, and they will get it on your ship. Also a bunch of jewelry stores in Georgetown, like Balaclava or Passman's.

  5. We just got off the Jewel yestarday from a 6 nite Western Caribbean Cruise. She is indeed a beautiful ship, with wonderful food in the main dining rooms and specialty restaurants, and the most friendly staff. We loved the Christmas decorations, glass elevators, and Solarium. Everything is shiny and new after the refurb. And Lobster is back! :)
