Could someone tell me what documents I will need to complete the online check-in please ?
We’re based in the UK, if that makes any difference.
Check-in opens over the weekend, but we’re away and I’d rather not take passports etc with us if I can help it.
Did I read somewhere that you can select a boarding time in the app and complete the full check-in later 🤔

As far as I remember you can just check in to get your boarding time and complete the rest later. You could also give your credit card details but leave the other stuff until you get back. Hope that helps. My check in opens tomorrow!

  2. Regarding price drops, the only experience I’ve ever had was some years ago when I was making final payment and my TA decided to check the price. I saved £1000! I was told We’d lose the drinks package but when we got on board we still had it. This was cruise on Celebrity Equinox. Hoping it happens again this year when we sail Celebrity in September but I’m not holding my breath.

  3. We are also on this cruise and have been told our boarding time is 3pm. This is because of the extended customs and health inspections needed after a ship has arrived from outside the USA. On the cruise personalised it gives the boarding times depending on which deck you are on. We are on Aloha which is one of the first decks to board. Although I would love to get to the terminal at 11am I really don't fancy standing around for 4 hours!

  4. We have three port changes on our Nov 5 sailing on Royal. Am I disappointed? Yes, but not as upset as those poor residents of the islands we can't now visit. At least we have a roof over our heads and light and heat. Changes in itinerary that are unavoidable are a first world problem! I intend to thoroughly enjoy my cruise even though I had chosen this cruise for the ports of call.

  5. Perhaps next time you could just book with a US travel agent to avail yourself of any offers? Despite being UK based we have booked through US agents before to get the same deals US customers get

Please tell me how you managed this because when I have tried I've always been advised it isn't possible with Princess as they won't allow UK clients to book this way!

  6. Apart from medications etc the first thing in my case is a dental repair kit. In the UK Boots the Chemist sell them. I'm convinced that the one time I don't pack it is the time I'll need it! Also an extra week's worth of prescription meds.

  7. Everything except Caribbean is available. That is why I asked here if someone might know when the Caribbean brochures might be available. NCL typically has them available in the July August timeframe.

I've already booked southern Caribbean for November 2017 so they are available. You could either call Princess direct or a TA.

I see that if you do not drink, you will receive an OBC of up to $250 depending on the length of the cruise. That's $500 for two people and we usually purchase the wine package, that's $333.50 for $10 bottles of wine. Our cruises are typically over 10 days so we would qualify for the $250. Lots of info at the link above. I think we'll go for the OBC, we don't drink hard liquor.

Thank you for the link. However according to the overview, it appears that this offer is not open to British or other European residents, or indeed anyone other than US, Canadian, Puerto Rican and a couple of other countries. That isn't going to boost any sales this side of the pond! At least X include everyone in their offers! This feels very discriminatory to me.

  9. Have had problems buying obc online in the past. Just rang Celebrity UK (08444932043) and bought some by phone. Online it shows 1 unit costs £15.20 for $25, however by phone they charged me £14.90. Just need to wait and see if it goes through the bank account - transactions online for obc in the past have sometimes gone through ( with a lot of follow up emails), and sometimes not.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

The amount you've been charged sounds right as the £ is very strong against the $ at the moment. I have also purchased OBC by phone and paid £15.20 for each $25. Over the months I've purchased occasionally and now have $600 OBC! It's a great feeling to know most of your spending is budgeted and to watch your account decrease instead of mounting up!

  10. I have only sailed on Princess once, a couple of years ago and the programme on ITV bears absolutely no resemblance to our on board experience! We found the entertainment staff were wonderful, especially the two british members. I don't recall lots of loudspeaker announcements and we had ten sea days on our Cruise to Hawaii. Whilst we love Celebrity we would, until this programme, have been more than happy to sail Princess again. Perhaps it's something to do with that particular itinerary, 7 days Caribbean, more of a party cruise?

  11. Sorry if this is a stupid question but are you saying you can buy on board credits in UK in £'s which they exchange into dollars? If so how do you do that?

Yes you can buy in £'s and they convert to dollars. Currently I believe £15.20 approx converts to $25. One quantity of OBC = $25. I have found the best way is to call Celebrity UK customer Service. I have done it online on their website under gifts by Celebrity. But payment either takes months to show up or an error message comes up! I did it a couple of weeks ago over the phone and they were very helpful and emailed me confirmation immediately.

  12. I am struggling to find details on Celebrity excursions to Florence. There only seems to be 2 when I put our cruise dates in.

One includes a 90 minute stop at a leather factory and with time spent traveling only gives 3hours in Florence out of a total of 9 hours. The other is a walking tour and I am concerned about the pace as one of my party has some breathing difficulties.

There are only 10 listed altogether and 2 of these are thousands of pounds for a private tour. We have been on a med cruise before and the Florence excursions came in a double sized brochure ( the same size as Celebrity Today).

I have tried ringing shore excursions and I will swear the young lady knew less than I did. She just kept asking me for the reference number of the excursion I wished to book.

I know private tours are the way to go but have been quoted € 550 and this does not include a guide. This is a bit expensive.

    Thoughts please.

I did Florence on my own! Took the ship's shuttle to the town and got the us to the station. Bought a return train ticket and then took the HoHo bus but didn't get off until it returned to the station. I then walked around Florence, map in hand and had a wonderful day. I made sure to get back to the station a good 20 minutes before the train left for Livorno to ensure I got a seat as the train gets busy. I had to do it on my own as my DH had a trapped nerve and couldn't walk. I felt very safe and it is a beautiful place.
