Better off just not bringing it. Can get you into far more trouble than its worth. If you can't live without it for a weak, just go somewhere else other than the islands.

I think you misunderstood…camo as in camouflage clothing

I went back several pages and didn't see this question answered.

Can you order one alcoholic drink and a soda at the same time? Or do you have to wait five minutes to order a soda even though they are unlimited?

Also, if you bring your own thermal type cup to keep it cold will they fill it up with soda at no charge if you have thr cheers package?

Thanks in advance, first cruise since I was 16 and doing the 10 Night alaska from San Fran.

It really depends on the bartender. I have been able to get both at the same time and I have been told to wait the 5 min as well. Never had an issue getting water and a drink at the same time though.
I am on the same sailing as you.

we're on that 7:30 one as well, May 29th....I know it coincides with the rail schedule, the rail might realize it will be harder to get everyone on in time and move it back....one could only hope! haha

I guess we shall see. I will make sure to let you know how it goes on the 19th. No matter what happens I will make the best of it. Im excited to be checking a whole lot of things off my bucket list.

I heard something about ships that scheduled to dock a Rail Rock aft will dock there and there are buses take passengers go past the construction and drop them off.

Yes thats how it worked when the Bliss docked last week. My concern is that should the ship decide those with excursions booked directly through them get priority debarkation, we wont get a bus early enough to make the 7:30 excursion. I know many people on the ship have the same excursion booked so I cannot imagine Chilkoot not waiting or changing things up a bit if they see this is a problem.

I emailed Chilkoot about our 7am arrival into RRF for a 7:30am tour, and she said that since they had this situation last year as long as you are on top of it and get a tender ticket in a timely manner, you should be fine and they are aware of things......

so, I will be up and rarin to go to get my tickets asap! haha

I emailed them about the same and was told that since there was only one ship so far they are still working things out and hopefully within the next few weeks they will have a better idea of how things are going.
I will be there 5/19 and like you, will do what I need to to ensure I have my tickets.

  6. I am on that sailing in May as well and can't find anything official. Some say its the 2nd and 7th night, others say one might be a port night and I have also heard there's a 3rd formal night but don't know which night it is. I don't plan on being "formal", just plan on a pair of slacks or leggings with a nice shirt. From what I understand, people don't get very dressed up for Alaska cruises. Its my first to Alaska, so guess I will see.

never understood why people want pictures when they're all dressed up... 'look at this photo of us that represents how we never really are at any other point in our normal life'

I had this argument with my mother 40 years ago regarding my HS senior pics. I spent 4 years in jeans and band shirts and she insisted I get dressed up (we took pics with and without graduation gowns). Im like why do you want pictures of me looking like not me.
Oh and she ended up not even purchasing them....

amcankid, we did this cruise in May of 2022 and enjoyed our 3rd Alaskan cruise. We're from Connecticut, so the early May weather seemed WARM for us! Although we didn't use it, there were people in the covered pool throughout the cruise. We leave a link to an "album" showing what went on during the cruise (you might want to skip the first 26 showing our bus tour of San Francisco). If you'd like to see the full sized pictures just click on any. Enjoy your cruise!

    OUR 2022 ALASKAN CRUISE

Thanks for sharing. I am going this May.

I'm trying to decide between 2 cruises.  Similar itens, One in mid March, other early May.  Comes down to Amber Cove vs St. Maarten.  going to AC for first time in June. SM years ago.  I am cruising solo.  I don't want to do excursions.  I want to get off ship, have a short walk to pool or beach and sit on my fanny and relax.  Advice please?!?

If you want to relax I would not suggest Amber Cove even though its easier to get to the pool. I was there in June and it was LOUD. Think Margaritaville with the DJ and everyone partying. Then add the kids running around. There werent many places to "get away". On St Maarten you might have to hop a cab to the beach, but you can then find a quiet spot to just read and relax.

For fun - being from the tri-state area make sure you look at the Nathan's food truck they have by the pool area and the line of people waiting for hotdogs and fries.  What we take for granted (having had a Nathan's in our area) is a novelty for most!

I grew up in Coney Island, I have a big Coney island tattoo on my thigh which includes the Nathans logo/facade. When we saw the truck we all laughed.

I'm a bit skeptical of the extent of the problem until I hear it directly from multiple people who were on the ship.  I can see an issue with one cabin, or a small group of cabins, being conflated into "the entire ship is freezing".

I am on the ship right now. I have no issues in my cabin but have spoken with multiple people who are freezing. One person said the temp in their cabin was 52. They were told different things by different people at guest services from it’s not working to there is no heat to we will send someone..and no one comes.

Yesterday many of the public areas were quite cold, especially the Lido Buffett. People were walking around indoors with heavy coats.
We are docked in Freeport right now due to an unexpected emergency but the temps outside are around 75-80 so being cold shouldn’t be an issue but people are worried about the trip back.

This is the problem with legalization. Smoking it in your home is fine. Smoking it in public is unacceptable and if users do not chill, they are going to get a backlash and prevent their legalization from occurring.

In NY its allowed to be smoked in public anywhere cigarettes are allowed to be smoked.
I know that has nothing to do with cruises, just pointing out that it is acceptable in public there.

So, our PVP called us this morning, as I had left him a message last evening. He still can't access our B2B bookings, but no matter as we have decided to dump those bookings. We are now booked on the 15 day Journeys cruise leaving on 9/29. Better islands, and $1300 less than the 15 day B2B that we originally booked. We will cancel our B2B bookings after we finally get our reassigned cabins. There is no way that they will be giving us the bowling alley balconies that we originally booked. Once I know I will list my gripes and give them to my PVP who will go to bat for me and try to get my nonrefundable deposits applied to my new booking. Even if I wind up losing my deposits I feel we came out ahead. We now have a better 15 day cruise for a much better price. Good luck to the rest of you still waiting for your new cabin assignments. 😎

I am on that journey cruise as well. I originally was on a 14 day on the Legend, I switched it to this one. It was cheaper, I got additional OBC and I dont have to drive from NYC to Balt.

  14. Just got off the Adventure this morning. We bought the package for one device and it worked as expected. It was fine (albeit slow) to check email, social media etc but streaming was not optimal. We tried to watch some of the baseball playoffs and it would constantly buffer. Download what you need beforehand.
