Consider your Havana stateroom or suite your own island resort. Most important is the exclusive location: near the Havana Bar & Pool. This relaxation pool is your members-only spot by day, and a fun-for-all hotspot when the sun goes down. Indoors, all Havana staterooms feature a unique décor, but step up to a Havana Cabana for an extra-large outdoor chill space. Step into a Havana Cabana suite for even more space, plus a luxurious rain shower. (All Havana stateroom guests must be 12 or older.)

Okay, so then other cruisers CAN NOT visit your room from other parts of the ship?

  2. Hi All,

So my PVP had told me that he believes that normal access for guests that are not staying in a Havana cabana style stateroom is restricted except for night time for the bar.  Does anyone know anything further on this? Can anyone gain access to this portion of the ship? Or only those who are staying in that area?

    Many thanks!

    Tamara

  3. Question for any out there that have done Cabo San Lucas before. We're going to be sailing in in May on the Splendor to Cabo, how is the walk from where the tender drops you off to shopping and Medano beach? Is it relatively safe? Okay for families? I see there are some bicycle taxis, how much do those cost? Are having pesos on hand a good idea? Suggestions on best places to eat, shop?

  4. Hi there, question. I've left from numerous ports (Miami, Tampa bay, Galveston, San Diego) and each are different in their embarkation. How does NOLA compare to those? For instance Galveston you drop your bags on one side of the building and then walk to the main cruise terminal. Miami, I could've sworn we put our bags through tsa and then continued upstairs to check in. How is new Orleans?

  5. He will find the 12-14 year olds wandering the ship and up on Sports Square or at putt-putt. They often are not in the Circle C room. So if he is outgoing he can make friends

And I should note that there very well could be several other almost 12 yo in Camp that also have sign out privileges. He should try to meet people there as well.

Yup last cruise he made friends with other kids in Circle C. Many times they brought together the Camp Carnival and Circle C groups and had them play group games together outside.

  6. Yeah, I've already warned son that he might be stuck with the 9 yr olds but next year when we cruise he will definitely be with the Circle C crowd (because by then he'll be 12 1/2)

I could've sworn I can give my son permission to sign himself out of Camp Carnival/Ocean. I'm looking all over the Carnival website now though and can't recall where it was. We've told him this year he will have more freedom than in the past.

Disregard, found the permission, and yes we gave him permission to leave. Last cruise he got bored sometimes among all the little ones.

  7. really? I had heard that they sometimes allowed kids on the cusp of moving to the next age group to hang out with that group instead. My son has been in Camp Carnival before, and many times he said he found it boring but this last time (Carnival Magic) they got to hang out sometimes in the Circle C (tween area\club) and he enjoyed that. Darn.

  8. Always try to buy a pin for the cruise ship to put on my lanyard.

Always try to buy a ornament for our tree for anywhere new we go

Always go to the Lido deck after checking out our room to go get dessert. Dessert always comes first.

Get ourselves a cold drink with an umbrella and dance to the reggae music that will almost always be playing.

  9. OOPS Don 't you hate that when it doesn't send you follow ups on threads you were following! LOL So just noticed that there were follow ups. We might use Paradise Beach. Getting a few ideas for family since they have never been on a cruise, nor have they been to any of the locations where the ships go to. This is pretty much what I was thinking of, since it probably won't take much to make them all happy. :) Thanks all for the suggestions!
