  1. I was also on this cruise... got to the port ar 11:00 finally boarded the ship at 1:30 p.m. extremely long lines

Food was not good at all and very meager...had ribs one night with baked beans and a cheesy cornbread...got a side of french fries had a total of 5 baked beans in a mini cup...Lobster on fancy night very small...glad I did not pay $20 for it on other ights would have been mad

lots of unsupervised kids on ship saw one little boy in hot tub by himslef no adults near him water up to his neck...if he fell I doubt any one would get to him in time...also lots on young kids in pools and hot tubs unsupervised

On Movie night on deck teenagers unsupervised felt it was okay to scream and yell and generally disrupt the movie

    Would never cruise Carnival again

  2. I have cruised on both....casino on HAL is smaller than on Carnival....HAL more for older people am in 60's and do prefer HAL to Carnival...that being said would cruise either...one thing you won't get on HAL is craziness or people running down hallways at all hours also not as many kids so if you like a more laid back trip HAL is better...I love Casinos and can make do with the casino on Hal Ships

  3. My friend and I have received special deals from the Casinos....usually $100 plus port taxes with $100 in OBC...then can upgrade cabin...($50 outside, $150 for balcony. These deals go fast so if you get one book ASAP. We got one fro Thanksgiving and so did some friends of ours, they waited and missed out .

My friend gambles far more money than I do but I have received these specials...so not sure what their criteria is

  4. Feb can be cool in Key West - spent 2 months in the winter there on my boat and we did have some chilly days..but it did not last long it can be cold so I would just bring a long pair of pants that you can wear for dinner in MDR and then if it is cold ashore you have something....also bring a sweater or sweatshirt in cae

  5. Hi all, just saw a thread on review of Freedom and that it was scheduled for drydock, today I saw when it was and I am on the first cruise after drydock, hope they finish on time...I work on a tour boat in Punta Gorda FL and one of our boats was in drydock for much longer that it was supposed to be so am keeping my fingers crossed on this one:confused:

  6. Thanks everyone....I am still no closer to figuring out when I cruised on her, I also loved the swinging chairs, it was my favorite bar....The only other thing I remember about the cruise is that the cruise staff also went with you on the tours, When I went on a cruise on her in 1985, they no longer went with you....I know I went before March of 1982 and after 1974...I also saw the Starward on a cruise I took in 1992, I noticed the old sun logo (it was raised and showed up on the bottom of the Hull) I talked to one of the crewmembers of this ship and was told it was the old Starward...

  7. Hi

I am looking for some info on the old NCL cruiseship the Skyward, I went on my very first cruise on this Ship sometime in the late 70's or early 80's she went to Cape Hatien, Haiti, Puerto Plate, Dominican Republic, San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas... I also know the cruise was delayed because of a huge snowstorm in the midwest and they rushed us in Cape Hatien to keep to our schedule...Also there was a very large contingent from BASF on board the ship...I would like to find out the exact year I took this cruise, but unfortuneatly I suffer from CRS...

Thanks to anyone who can help...

    Karen:)
