  1. I'm travelling on the Navigator out of Miami this coming Sunday 1/15. Our current travel plans have us arriving in FLL Saturday evening, with FLL hotel and then Larry's Limo direct to POM on Sunday morning.

Our departure from Baltimore on Saturday now looks risky due to some projected winter weather, so I'm weighing switching our flight to Sunday morning with a 9:30a arrival time in FLL. I normally wouldn't risk it, but we also just got an email yesterday from RCI asking us to arrive for check in (by deck) between 2:45 and 3:30p (assuming because of past POM issues w/ long lines).

Even if our arrival is delayed beyond 9:30, we should still have enough time to arrive to POM by 3:30 (5p all aboard), right?

  2. Another vote for Love Letter (there's a Batman version too). Our 8 yo daughter could play it at 6 but still likes it. Adults in our game playing group like it too.

    Other good games:

Aquarius (good for up to 5 players, VERY easy to pick up but still fun)

Saboteur (good for up to 10 players...but you need to find a bigger table to play on...we've pulled several bar tables together or played in the buffet between meals)

    Mille Bournes

    Guillotine

    Hanabi (cooperative)

First of all, thanks for all your insights on Copenhagen. I've read through a lot of the thread and picked up some wonderful tips.

I have a question about Tivoli Gardens. We have a one-night stay before getting on the NCL Star on July 3 and expect we'll want to spend that evening at Tivoli, grabbing dinner and riding at least a few rides while we're there. (Do you have any favorites?)

Do you recommend purchasing admission/ride tickets in person or online in advance? We'll likely eat dinner while we're at Tivoli, so would one of the packages (PULS) be a good investment?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

  4. Thanks for the additional thoughts, mking.

We originally chose deck 12 because it's a newer section of the ship with only suite neighbors so assuming the hallway would be pretty quiet. We also like the idea of being up by the Bier Garten and having easy access to pool deck since we won't have a balcony.

But your thoughts on easier access to gangway on port days is something to consider.

  5. We're booked in an IC inside cabin on Deck 12 of the Star for the Baltics next month. I've been watching prices and there are now obstructed oceanview cabins for the same price we paid for the inside.

I'm not super concerned about getting the view since the itinerary is so port intensive we won't be spending much time in our cabin. But I've noticed that oceanview cabins are listed as being approx. 159 sq. feet as opposed to 142 for inside cabins.

Can anyone tell me where that extra square footage is in the cabin and will we actually notice it? It's just me and my husband, so no worries about 3rd or 4th passengers. But for 9 nights, perhaps we'll want a little extra space?

Thoughts (and photos) would be much appreciated.
