  1. So sorry the OP had to cancel. But I never travel with out insurance. There are there benefits that pay for flights, lost bags, medical etc. I buy if for if we get sick on the ship or have to airlifted. Plus my health insurance will not pay out of country and my husband policy and medicare does not pay either. We buy from an outside company. We had to cancel once and got all our money for the cruise, air fare and hotel expenses back.

Next cruise you might want to buy insurance for if you do have to cancel.

  2. Husband and I are planning a class reunion for 2017. I have not contacted Carnival yet. Has anyone ever planned a group cruise for 10 cabins? What is the advantage of doing a group cruise vs just cabins. Do you get any perks for groups...:)

  3. Booked a couple of weeks ago on November cruise. I picked the option where they will assign my room etc. ( forgot what is it is called) Sunday I looked and that same type of room was about 150 cheaper so I called and they changed the amount of my booking. When I was looking Sunday when I picked the option where they assign room .. well they had a room number on that mock booking. I did the same thing Monday and Tuesday.( sale still going on) When I look at my reservation it still says room to be assigned. I have no problem waiting as I figure they will give me a good room like they did in March. But I wonder why they are giving room assignments now????

    Hope this makes sense.....

  4. We are doing the same cruise and mine dropped 150.00 a person for a balcony. Called this morning and they adjusted. The only catch is the 300 deposit is non refundable. That is okay I have trip insurance.....

  5. We did anytime dinning in March on the Emerald. We had never done this type of dining before. We totally hated the experience. Having to wait for a table, service was so slow after 2 hours of waiting I had to leave without dinner as I had to meet friends at the show. Another time was another two hour dinner. I hated making small talk to folks I would never see compared to a set time and regular folks at the table. We said we would never do this type of dining again and on our upcoming cruise we booked a set dinner. We ate a total of 3 dinners in dining room and ate at the buffet the other nights as I did not want the hassle of anytime dining.

But then again other folks love this type of dining.

  6. We took our first Princess cruise on the Emerald during Texas Spring break. We had a great time. We compared the ship and service to other cruise lines and actually said they were better. We had our second balcony and I am hooked. Sorry you did not like the ship. I think sometimes people expect to much for what we pay.

We had a great time we booked again for After Thanksgiving and major deer season.

  7. This is what my page said about guaranteed bookings when I booked this afternoon....

Fast and easy. Let us take care of it for you. We'll select the best available Balcony stateroom at $ person. Based on current stateroom availability, a stateroom will be assigned closer to departure date.

*Does not include wheelchair accessible staterooms

( I did not include the price we paid)

  8. On our first Princess cruise in March 2015 I booked Guaranteed balcony. I paid for the cruise in December of 2014 when I booked the cruise. With in a week I had an assigned room and upgrade. Had a great location and loved the room. I just booked for December 2015 today and booked guaranteed balcony again. I hope I get a good location.

    Good luck...
