  1. Day 1 Embarkation

After 10 months of anticipation our day finally arrived, there were four of us ,myself DW, 2 DD. It was going to be sunny this day with temps in the 80s. We live 30 minutes from the port so we decided to leave at 9:30 AM. We arrived at the Port at 10:00 AM and were directed to line #2, we were the first car in this line. We were told by the attendant it would be about 45 minutes for us to proceed. At 11:00 the first row was called to enter were you drop off your luggage. At about 11:15 we were able to proceed, we dropped off our luggage and moved on to the pay booth, $105.00 for the week, then we parked our car. We then walked over to the terminal building this is where they first check your docs, please have them ready. After this step we moved on to the screening area, quite painless and were directed to the Priority Line, we booked a suite for this cruise. This process took about 10 minutes, after receiving our S$S cards we were told to see a gentleman at the end where once again he checked our boarding pass. There is separated area where they sit you if you are in a Wedding Party are Diamond or Platinum, Priority or FTTF, you are called in this order to board the ship. We sat in an area for Priority Cruisers. The wedding Party was called at about 12:00 PM, then we were called about 12:15. By 12:35 we were on the lido and were one of the first in line for Guys Burger. myself I loved them but the ladies in the family were not impressed. The Cruise director Schwartz made an announcement he would notify us when our rooms were ready, however at 1:30 we decided to see our room on deck 6 room 6134 OS. Yes it was ready! While waiting for some luggage we headed down to the Kiosk to set up access and apply our Carnival Gift Cards. After this was completed we ventured back to our room and our luggage had arrived so we started unpacking. We enjoyed our Balcony until our dinner. We had an issue while sitting on our Balcony, our neighbors decided to play loud music, we thought this may be a problem throughout the week however after the first day it was not. I did complain to Guest Services though. It was then time to head to the MDR for Dinner 6:00 PM seating. We met our wait staff at this time. A comment on our staff, they were most excellent throughout the week, very attentive, never had a wait for our apps, meals or desserts. (Food Review To Follow Later). After dinner we went to the welcome aboard show, walked through the Fun Shops and of course some late night pizza and ice cream. We are not late night people so at 11:00 we called it a night. To Be Continued

  2. We just back today from our cruise on The Pride, we arrived at the Port last Sunday about 9:45 and were the first car in line 2. At about 11:00 Line one was released and consisted of about 30 Cars. After about 10 minutes we were given the OK to go, we dropped off our luggage and proceeded to the pay booth. We then parked our car. Went in the terminal for check in, because we were Priority after Security we were directed to that check in line. After checking in we were directed into another section of the building for Wedding Parties, Diamond and Platinum, Priority and FTTF, in that order. At 12:45 our group was called and we were on the way. Had our Guys Burger at about 1:15. Happy Sailing

  3. I emailed the maitreD on the Carnival Pride for my cruise this Sunday asking for a table for 4 with a view, I received a response back yesterday that I will be taken care of. They prefer you to contact them the week of your cruise preferably not the first 2 days of the previous sailing because they are quite busy. Hope this helps

  4. I too am sailing July 10 and have Priority, having booked a Suite. I checked in for 11:00 AM also, but can arrive at my leisure. I will be at the parking lot around 9:30, they will let you in as the returning guest leave. I will use ship tracker to see what position the Pride is in. I am only 10 minutes from the Chesapeake Bay and will go down and see if I can see her, I did this last week. At 7:45 AM The Pride was approaching Key Bridge heading to Baltimore Port. Happy Sailing!

  5. That is why we always go to Florida, not as expensive for cruise. We paid 2100 last year for a Balcony, this cruise is double that. We always do 2 days before and one day after, this part I will miss. Last summer we were in Universal studios for 2 days and had a great time, will kinda miss that also, but all is good. This year we booked and OV suite.

  6. Anyone have information on how this process is going after the incident at the Port of Baltimore? Were there delays boarding and leaving the ship? What time were the first passengers allowed to board? We sail on July 10 and were curious. I work at an airport as a construction inspector and realize the lead time installing a new boarding bridge.

  7. This year we are sailing out of Baltimore which is 25 minutes from my home, usually we sail out of Florida and like I said I prepay everything, hotels car airfare, purchase cruise cash, I will also buy prepaid visa for meals before and after cruise. Works great when i get back I don't have to worry about paying Credit cards off. The vacation has already been paid for.

  8. Another one that does not want to tip these hardworking folks. I leave all my tips in tacked, it does not matter if I don't eat in the Main Dining room or not. I have seen people come down to guest services at the end of the cruise and remove tips so they can cover their bar bill. I also was behind a couple that were removing all tips for there 3 children. I have talked to cabin stewards that have received no tips from couples or families. My cruise last July there was an individual that requested all his drink tips be removed, said he was not served fast enough. I will tip an extra couple of dollars on my drink orders, I give my MDR team extra money for service, I tip my room steward extra at the beginning of each cruise and at the end, needless to say I am well taken care of and all are very happy at the end of my adventure, for I know they are away from their families and are trying to provide a better life. These individuals work 12-14 hour days with very little time for themselves. They do receive an 4 hour break 1 day a week. So God Bless them

  9. Last Sea Day, Great Cruise, Great Staff, Great Food, weather was perfect, but very hot and humid. Will review when I get home. Check in was a breeze with FTTF. Room Steward and Wait staff were fantastic. Very pleased with our Food in the MDR, ate there every night.

  10. After a long an anticipated wait ,one week to go. We head out this Thursday on Southwest(6:20 AM) for a 2 night stay at Orlando Universal Studios. We booked our Rental Car from Budget with a drop off at Cape Canaveral, they have a free shuttle to the port. Our air fare from Baltimore was purchased 6 months ago $220.00 round trip, rental car $105.00 for 2 days. it really pays to book early.
