  1. In 2007 our travel agent took us on a shore excursion to Elephant Safari Park in Bali. We loved it. Got to ride on an elephant, watched them bathing in a large pool, and lunch was delicious. We did not feed elephants, but riding one was certainly up front and personal along with the young man who let her eat along the way.

Thanks for your recommendation, Barbara. :D

  2. We'd like to feed and interact with the elephants, but not ride one. Having researched the possibilities in Bali, I find two possibilities there: Bali Safari and Marine Park and Taro Elephant Safari Park (formerly Jalan Elephant Safari Park?).

We'll also be in Semarang, any suggestion for elephant encounters there?

Do you have any experience with these and would you recommend one over the other? Is there yet another venue featuring elephants I should be looking into?

    Thank you for your help.

  3. Hi fellow cruisers.

We're going to be in Shanghai for 2 days, a Sunday and Monday. Would you recommend that we go to Zhujiajiao one of those days over the other. We'd rather go on Sunday, but are concerned that many places will be closed or terribly overcrowded. Also, will the silk factories be open on a Sunday?

    Thank you in advance.

  4. I'm interested in visiting this site, but have a question about the steps. I realize there are 100 steps to get into the tunnel, but am wondering if that's 100 steps down and 100 steps back up? Is there an alternate to taking the steps up, like a ramp? I'm somewhat fit, but I don't know if I'm able to push it that far. ;p

  5. I think I know what the answer will be, but I have to try.

We're sailing on the Amsterdam, with disembarkation in San Pedro on December 21, 2018, one of the busiest days of the year for travel.

We'd like to take an 11:30 a.m. flight out of Orange County. Is this possible? Would you recommend a 12.40 flight instead?

I realize we must be first off the ship and carry our own luggage.

Thank you for your opinions and expertise.

  6. I'm curious to know if there's any leniency in the rules if you're on a longer (say, 30 day) cruise. Also, are the Ocean Princess and Pacific Princess as strict as the larger ships? Seems to me that the smaller ships often have the longer itineraries. What happens on a B2B?
