.hi--we leave in a couple of days on the Crown .It's a 14 day T/A
I haven't read anything current re: smoking on this ship. I'm hoping to hear from a couple (or more!) about the Crown.
We also got word the Crown is just coming out of dry-dock--they've delayed our departure time from 4PM to 6PM.

Thank you all so much for your answers and suggestions. A lot of you put my mind at ease.
Yes, the cruise starts 4/3, so I'm hoping this bit of change will be completed by this date.
Everyone have a safe and fun (that's a given!!) cruise.

I've gone thru any Princess threads trying to find a more current answer other than "April 2018 --new mattresses start with suites and mini-suites".
We're on the Crown on a T/A 4/3 to4/17. I hate to think we might be sleeping in "canoes" or that I might be sleeping on the floor! I'll find out Friday if I'm having back surgery soon.
Does anyone know if Princess is true to the dates of something like this? Thanks for any sincere answers.

Thank you so much for your review. I loved it . We went to some of your islands on other Princess cruises and loved the reminiscing I did because of your review.
My daughter got married in April ,5 years ago on the Crown .We just had immediate family for the trip. If anyone who is reading this is getting married, please check into having a cruise wedding.
My daughter worked with a wedding planner from Princess .
The ceremony was beautiful .. one of our guests was a concert pianist, so she played the piano that was provided, with all the music my daughter wanted.
We ended up buying all the pictures that the photographer took, because they were that good-- (they were also expensive).
We requested Sabatini's for our little party. The staff went "overboard" in food prep, service and generally , having as happy a time as we were having. The food was EXCELLENT My daughter mentioned to the staff that I loved Princess' clams casino---they kept bringing out plate after plate to me!
I digress--your review was as good as any I've read and I'm glad you enjoyed the Crown. BTW, Lester makes the BEST chocolate martinis!!
We're going on the Crown for a T/A cruise this April and I'm so looking forward to it.
Many happy cruises to you.

Hi-- I assume you're on a Princess cruise.
We're going on our cruise 12/5 to the 13th. This is what we're doing (2 people).
We have a 4:15 pm flight out of Houston Hobby, and while looking at the Princess excursions, we found one that, for 79.95 pp, leaves the ship at 9am brings us to the Space Center and then, takes us to the airport . We'll get to airport about 1pm. Our suitcases are stowed on the bus, so we don't have a problem figuring out what to do with them.
Princess also has the same thing for Bush Airport (IAD?).
At least we're not sitting in an airport for 7 hrs and we get to see the Space Center. For our bus, there was only 6-7 seats left.
Have a great cruise!

Thanks Auntiebarb
It never dawned on us to get the cab number. I do know it was a yellow cab and he said he was Haitian and had been in the US for 20 yrs.
Oh well, live and learn.
Thanks for responding.

Same thing happened to us in Tampa port Saturday. It was just my sister and me w/ 3 pieces of luggage. She was going to Southwest and I was flying from Jet Blue.
We got in the cab, he started driving as we told him where we had to go--he freaked out saying it was more money because he had 2 stops at the airport and it had to be treated as such because " S.W. terminal was across the street from J.B. and further out. ". I was p..ssed!. My sister "negotiated" a price for $30, instead of the $25. (Left him no tip.) He had wanted more. I got out 1st---she said she was the next terminal!
She said he just dumped her suitcase IN THE STREET in front of the terminal and took off.
This has never happened before and sure left a bad impression of the Tampa cab system.

I know I'm really late w/ this, but I would love a copy also. My email is dr92@frontiernet.net You have been innundated w/ requests, but thank you in advance!

OMG,JulieRose, I just looked at your graphs. It looks great and so thorough! Somehow my DD and her fiancee have to consolidate all your items into 4 months, just they just got engaged and want to get married in April on Princess. There are only 12-14 people max going to be there, so we can cut out some of the stuff. Thanks so much.
There are so few brides using Princess, but I haven't gone through all the posts yet. We are Platinum on Princess and have also cruised on NCL RCCL and Carnival. To us, Princess was a no-brainer. You'll love what they do!! Congratulations...:D

I emailed them last Sunday .Tues, I got a response to go to the casino desk on my
upcoming cruise (4/14) for a $50 voucher. I'll call them a week before we go --just as a "polite reminder". Thanks all, for the info. I've been on 7 cruises w/ Princess and 1 on Carnival and have never done this--learned it on these boards!!:D
-
Thanks--I thought it was over 3K. CAS stands for Casinos At Sea. I believe its for all Carnival and Carnival-owned ships, like Princess, Costa,Holland America, etc.
I just found my statement. I think you said you were on Grand Princess. This is from Princess Players Club. The info is: Michael Bayona, Player Development Coordinator,Carnival Corp. Casino Div., 1-800-522-7466 ext.#16034. Email is:mbayona@carnival.com
Wait til you see your statement! Info is based on data received from the "Slot Tracking System" and records play only when you use your card. It gives you total hours of play, total wagers, wins and, naturally, total win and total loss.
I won a hand-paid jackpot at a local casino and 1600$ in taxes were automatically paid. So now I'm getting all my win-loss statements from any casino I played at this past year. Hopefully, I'll get some of that money back!:D:D
-
This is a little too early for me to calculate your winning. What $1 amount does 77,000 nickels come out to be?:o
-
Contact-I emailed- CAS, and ask for a win-loss statement. You'll be asked the ship, dates you traveled and, if I remember correctly, the cruise number of the ship. If you saved your reservation and/or boarding pass, the number will be on that. This part was not mandatory.
You can also call them.

Hi Mike, re: your statement that only Deck 8 has uncovered balconies, that's not entirely true. There are some staterooms on the 9th that are uncovered.---those way forward and those in the stern, mainly 9269 to 9286. There are also some kind of on the bump-out, midship. I have been doing so much research on this, because we wanted uncovered. I might be wrong (God, I hope not--I've changed cabins 3 times) I ended up choosing 9278. BTW, I'd like to thank you for some great reads about this ship. We are so looking forward to it.:)
-
Hi tfero1, according to what someone said, responding to a question of mine--- uncovered balconies are 8022-8043,8080-8109,8154-8161, and they have lifeboats beneath. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for responding to my casino questions. I didn't know we got a coupon or coupon booklet.

Hi, thanks so much for a great review. I have to admit I scanned some of it ( have to be at work by 3 pm), but when I have time ,I'll read it all. I just booked a BA for 12/11 Western Carib. We are really interested in the casino, and I'm not sure if you covered it, except for the smoking issue. Could you touch on it, or direct me to the day you were there? Again, thanks--this review has made me even more excited!!!:)

You can put a bill in, but you'll get a voucher out, when you leave the machine.
You can use your sail card any time.
My last Princess cruise was a transatlantic this past April.
Enjoy your cruise-- and hope you win lots!!!
